Yes. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 supports cross-play between PlayStation, Xbox and PC, so players on different hardware can join the same online matches. It also supports cross-progression: your rank, statistics, weapon and camo progress, unlocked content and Battle Pass progress are attached to your Activision account and appear on every linked platform. The critical condition is using the same Activision account everywhere. COD Points are the documented exception because their spending balance remains tied to the platform where they were purchased.
What “cross-platform” means in Call of Duty

Cross-play
Cross-play lets players using different hardware join the same multiplayer session. In Black Ops 6, Activision says cross-play continues at launch, allowing players on all supported platforms to play together through Activision’s online services. A PlayStation player can therefore party with an Xbox or PC player when the relevant settings and playlist permit it.

Cross-progression
Cross-progression means the game saves progression to your Activision account rather than only to one console or PC installation. When the same Activision identity is linked on another platform, your existing progression can appear there. Cross-play can work without moving your progress, but cross-progression depends on correct account linking.

Which platforms support Black Ops 6?
Activision’s current platform listing includes the following versions and storefronts. The storefront is important when you move between devices because each platform account must be connected to the same Activision account.

The table describes platform availability, not ownership. Buying Black Ops 6 on one storefront does not automatically grant a copy on every other storefront. Warzone is a separate free experience, so a player may be joining through Warzone rather than owning the paid Black Ops 6 edition. Check the edition and region shown by the store before purchasing.
What transfers between linked platforms?
Activision’s guidance states that game progression is stored on your Activision account. With the same account linked, the following progression is designed to follow you:

This is account-based access, not a file-copy operation. Installing the game on a second device will not import progress from a different Activision identity. The platform account that launches the game must be connected to the account that originally holds the progression.
The COD Points exception
COD Points do not follow the same rule as most progression. Activision documents COD Points as platform-tied for spending. If you buy points on one platform, that balance is generally available to spend on that platform rather than becoming a single universal wallet on every linked device. Many items bought with those points can work across linked platforms, but the points themselves remain the important exception. If a balance appears different after switching devices, first check which platform you are using to make the purchase or spend the currency.

What cross-progression does not promise
Cross-progression does not turn one purchase into every edition, does not merge two separate Activision accounts and does not override platform-store rules. A console entitlement, PC entitlement and free Warzone access are separate questions from whether your account data is synchronized.
How to set up cross-play and cross-progression
Complete the account work before you switch devices. These steps follow Activision’s account-linking guidance and avoid the most common irreversible-looking mistakes.

- Identify the correct Activision account. Sign in to the Activision account you already use for Call of Duty. If you have played on a console before, use the account that contains your existing rank, unlocks and Battle Pass progress.
- Open linked accounts. In the Activision account-management area, view the linked-accounts section. Confirm which PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, Battle.net or Microsoft account is attached.
- Connect every platform you intend to use. Link each platform account to that same Activision identity. Do not create a second Activision account simply because you are installing the game from a different store.
- Launch the game on each device. Start Black Ops 6 or the supported Call of Duty experience and let it sign in with the linked Activision identity. If the game displays a different identity, stop before playing and correct the account link.
- Check the console cross-play setting. On a console, open the in-game Account & Network settings and review the cross-play option available for your playlist.
- Test with a friend. Add or invite the friend through the game’s social system, then confirm that the party contains the intended platform accounts before entering matchmaking.
Progress should appear after the correct account is authenticated. A missing rank or unlock is usually an identity problem, not a failure of cross-play itself.
How to turn cross-play on or off
Console players can choose among three settings in supported playlists:
- On: Matchmaking can include players on other supported platforms.
- On (Consoles Only): Matchmaking is limited to console players while leaving cross-play available between the supported console families.
- Off: Cross-play is disabled for the supported playlist, so matchmaking uses the platform’s own player pool or the restrictions shown by the game.
To change the setting, open the game’s Account & Network menu on console and select the cross-play control. The exact choices can depend on the game mode and current playlist. If an option is missing, the playlist may not support that control or the game may require an update.

Mixed-platform parties
A party containing players from different platforms can temporarily broaden matchmaking to accommodate everyone in the group. That means a console player who normally restricts matchmaking may see the setting adjusted while grouped with a PC player. Leave the mixed-platform party and check the setting again if you want your usual console-only preference restored.

Yes, supported PlayStation and Xbox players can play Black Ops 6 together through cross-play. Each person needs the game or supported Warzone access on their own platform, an internet connection and an Activision account linked to that platform account. The host should check that cross-play is not set to Off and that the selected playlist permits cross-platform matchmaking.
Cross-play does not combine the two consoles into one store or subscription. Each player remains subject to the purchase, subscription and network requirements of their own platform. The feature only allows the online session and party to span the supported hardware.

It can, provided the console and PC accounts are connected to the same Activision account. For example, a player who starts on Xbox can install the PC version through Steam, Battle.net or another listed Windows storefront, link that PC account to the same Activision identity and then access the account-based rank, statistics, weapon and camo progress, unlocked content and Battle Pass progress.
The PC storefront still matters for ownership. You may need to buy or otherwise obtain the PC edition separately, even though your Call of Duty progression is available after signing in. COD Points should be treated separately: the spending balance is tied to the platform where the points were acquired.

Account-linking mistakes and how to recover
You linked the new platform to the wrong Activision account
Activision warns that if you link a platform account to another Activision account, your progress will not carry over. The practical fix is to relink the platform to the original Activision account that contains your progression. Do not continue playing on the wrong identity if preserving the original progress is important, because new activity can create further confusion about which account is current.
You cannot remember which account contains your progress
Sign in to your possible Activision accounts one at a time and inspect the linked-platform list. The account showing the original console or PC connection is the one to preserve. Record the account email and platform associations before unlinking anything.
Your progress is missing after switching devices
- Confirm that the new platform account is linked to the exact Activision account used on the old platform.
- Close and restart the game after correcting the link so it refreshes the account session.
- Check that you launched the intended edition or Warzone experience, rather than a different store account.
- Verify that the missing item is not COD Points, which are platform-tied for spending.
- Do not create a new Activision account as a workaround; that separates the new activity from the original progression.
Your friend cannot join the party
- Make sure both players are signed in to the game’s online services.
- Check that both platform accounts are linked to valid Activision identities.
- On console, set cross-play to On temporarily and retry the invitation.
- Leave and recreate the mixed-platform party if matchmaking retains an old restriction.
- Confirm that both players selected a playlist that supports the available cross-play controls.
Paid Black Ops 6 versus free Warzone access
Cross-play and cross-progression describe account and matchmaking behavior; they do not answer whether you own the paid game. Black Ops 6 is listed for Xbox, Windows, Battle.net, PlayStation, Steam and Game Pass. Warzone provides a free route into the Call of Duty ecosystem, but its access, modes and account entitlements are distinct from purchasing Black Ops 6.
Before you buy, verify four details on the store page: the platform, the region, the edition and whether the listing is Black Ops 6 or Warzone access. If you move from console to PC, plan for the PC edition’s entitlement separately even though your Activision progression can follow you.

What to check before changing platforms
- Write down the Activision account email or sign-in method that currently holds your progress.
- Confirm every PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, Battle.net or Microsoft account you plan to use appears under that account’s linked accounts.
- Take note of your current rank and major unlocks so you can quickly spot an identity mismatch.
- Spend or manage COD Points on the platform where their balance is available; do not assume a universal wallet.
- Review the edition and storefront entitlement before downloading on a new device.
- Set cross-play to On only when needed, and use On (Consoles Only) or Off when those options are available and match your preference.
The bottom line for cross-platform Call of Duty play
Black Ops 6 is cross-platform for multiplayer across its supported PlayStation, Xbox and PC versions, and its progression follows a shared Activision account. The safest setup is simple: choose one Activision identity, link every platform to it before playing, and treat COD Points as platform-specific currency. If a rank or unlock disappears after a platform switch, check account linking first; changing storefronts is usually less important than signing in with the correct Activision account.
