Seasonal rewards can change, and future rewards or details may be announced later. The game also has in-game purchases.

Choose Standard if the base game is what you want. Deluxe is worth considering when the voucher and cosmetics are worthwhile to you; do not count launch early access as a reason to upgrade now. That was a launch-period benefit for Deluxe buyers, not a continuing post-launch offer.

What the online mode offers
Bandai Namco describes ACE COMBAT ONLINE as cross-play multiplayer with co-op and PvP/PvE activities. Named activities include Co-Op Assault, Co-Op Warfare, emergency missions, and limited-time PvP events. Its Air Base hub can host up to 100 players; that is the publisher’s stated capacity, not a measure of current player population.

Online progression and save data are separate from the campaign. The feature list establishes that cross-play and multiple online activities are planned, but it does not establish current population, matchmaking quality, or how long the online service will be supported.

Creative Bloq’s Ian Dean reviewed the PS5 version and scored it 8/10. Dean praised the Unreal Engine 5 visual polish, dramatic missions, weather that affects combat, and entertaining arcade combat. The stated drawbacks were a familiar gameplay loop for series veterans and squadron commands that lack depth. Dean’s verdict: “It’s not a reinvention of the series, but when Ace Combat 8 is flying at full speed, it doesn’t really need to do much more.”
