As of October 9, 2026, no official iQOO announcement confirms a 2K, 185Hz OLED for the iQOO Neo 12. The claim comes from a leak. Gizmochina reported on October 8, 2026 that tipster Digital Chat Station described an upcoming iQOO phone, which the report believes is the Neo 12, with a 2K display at 185Hz. The model identification, the panel supplier, the “world’s first mass-produced” label, the specifications, and the launch timing all remain unverified until iQOO or the panel maker confirms them.
The latest claim and where it comes from
The October 8 report attributes the display to Visionox and to its fourth-generation pTSF light-emitting technology. It says the panel would improve brightness, image quality, lifespan, and power use. Those are qualitative claims. The report does not give test conditions, measured values, or an independent review of a retail unit, so none of the benefits can yet be quantified.

The phrase “world’s first mass-produced” is the leak’s characterization, not a verified industry fact. Confirming it would require a named production start and a comparison with other 2K high-refresh OLED panels, and no such data appears in the reporting available to date.
Earlier reports pointed to 165Hz first
Coverage from mid-2026 described the same phone differently. Those earlier reports are the best guide to how the 185Hz figure should be read, because they suggest 185Hz was a target under evaluation rather than a settled retail specification.

The progression runs from a tested 165Hz baseline to a 185Hz figure described as the current report. That is consistent with a target that could still change before launch, but the reports do not explain why the number moved. A user-posted summary on the iQOO Community forum repeats the same details; it is not official product documentation.

Camera details were described as unknown or speculative in that report, so readers should not treat any camera figure from these reports as established.

A refresh-rate number and a panel brand do not tell you how a screen will behave in daily use. Before the brightness, lifespan, and power claims can be judged, you would need:

- Measured brightness under stated conditions, such as full-screen versus small-area output and the test method used.
- Power draw recorded at the same brightness and refresh setting as a comparison phone, with the content and test duration disclosed.
- Frame-rate behavior: whether the phone holds 185Hz in apps and games, or only at the UI level. A panel’s refresh ceiling is not the same as the frame rate a game delivers.
- Lifespan evidence, which usually comes from manufacturer test data rather than a single review, so any claim should name the test method.
How to compare with the iQOO 12
The official iQOO 12 product page lists a 6.78-inch display with a 144Hz refresh rate on LTPO AMOLED. That is a prior-model specification and a useful reference point, but it is not a like-for-like comparison with an unreleased phone, and it says nothing about the Neo 12’s panel. If you compare the two later, use verified attributes only: resolution, refresh rate, panel type, measured power use under matching conditions, and software and game support.

- An official iQOO launch or product specification page for the Neo 12 that lists resolution and refresh rate.
- Confirmation from iQOO or Visionox of the panel supplier and technology.
- Independent measurements of brightness, power use, and sustained 185Hz operation on a retail unit.
- A retail listing with price and region-specific availability.
Until at least one of these arrives, the 2K 185Hz OLED should be read as a credible leak with an uncertain final form, not as a launch specification.
