Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra is a book-style foldable that opens into an 8-inch workspace for reading and multitasking. They suit different priorities, and the official prices available here come from India and the United States, so they do not establish a direct price difference.
At a glance: flat flagship or book-style foldable?
Choose based first on how you want to use the screen. The iQOO 15 stays a conventional phone with a 6.85-inch flat display. The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra has a 6.5-inch cover display for closed-phone use and opens to an 8-inch inner display. Samsung announced the Fold8 Ultra on July 22, 2026; its U.S. rollout announcement said sales began in select markets on August 7 and would expand worldwide. Samsung’s announcement and rollout announcement provide those dates.

The dimensions are manufacturer-stated diagonal measurements, not a direct comparison of usable screen area. The Fold’s inner display is the more expansive workspace, while the iQOO offers the simpler, uninterrupted layout of a conventional phone.

| Specification | iQOO 15 | Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra |
|---|---|---|
| Screen design | Flat 6.85-inch AMOLED | Foldable AMOLED: 8-inch inner display and 6.5-inch cover display |
| Resolution | 3168 × 1440 | Not stated in the cited specifications |
| Refresh rate | Up to 144Hz | 120Hz on both displays |
| Processor | Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform | Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy |
The iQOO’s listed 144Hz ceiling is higher than the Fold’s 120Hz specification, but refresh rate alone does not establish which screen looks better or feels smoother in every use. The processor names are closely related, yet the naming does not prove equal benchmark scores or sustained performance. No independent side-by-side performance tests were identified in the cited sources.

Samsung positions the inner screen as a larger workspace and highlights multitasking in its launch material. That design makes the Fold the more natural fit for using multiple apps or viewing content on a larger panel. The iQOO’s flat screen is better suited to someone who wants a conventional phone display without opening a device.
Battery capacity and charging
| Specification | iQOO 15 | Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra |
|---|---|---|
| Battery capacity | 7,000mAh | 5,000mAh |
| Wired charging | 100W FlashCharge | 45W fast charging |
| Wireless charging | 40W listed by iQOO | 15W listed in Samsung Australia’s guide |
On stated capacity and rated charging power, the iQOO has the larger battery and higher charging figures. These are specifications, not comparable battery-life or charging-time results: real endurance and recharge speed depend on usage and test conditions, and no independent head-to-head battery study was identified.

|---|---|---|
| Main rear | 50MP | 200MP |
| Ultra-wide rear | 50MP | 50MP |
| Telephoto rear | 50MP periscope, 3× | 10MP telephoto, 3× optical zoom |
| Front | 32MP | Not stated in the cited specifications |
Both phones offer three rear-camera perspectives, but their hardware arrangements differ: the iQOO lists three 50MP rear cameras, including a 3× periscope, while Samsung lists a 200MP main camera, 50MP ultra-wide and 10MP 3× telephoto. Megapixel counts do not establish image quality, and no neutral comparative camera test was identified. Consider the camera types and verified sample results rather than treating the higher resolution as a verdict.
Software and durability vary by region
The iQOO India store lists OriginOS 6 based on Android 16. Samsung Australia’s guide lists Android 17 with One UI 9 for the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra. Those are region-specific product details, not a guarantee that every country’s handset or software update status is identical; check the local model and current update policy before buying.

iQOO’s global specifications page states IP68/IP69, while Samsung Australia describes the Fold8 Ultra as IP48 and notes a titanium-reinforced foldable display structure. These ratings should not be treated as interchangeable or as a promise that either phone is waterproof. Confirm the regional product specification and warranty terms for the exact device you plan to purchase.

The available official-store prices are for different countries and configurations, so subtracting them—or converting currencies—would not produce a meaningful price difference.

| Phone and market | Configuration | Displayed price | Price context |

The figures are the prices displayed by the respective official stores when accessed on October 5, 2026; they may change. The iQOO figure is for its selected India 12GB/256GB Apex SKU, while Samsung’s figures are U.S. store prices for three storage tiers. Because the markets, currencies, configurations and price treatments differ, a true premium or saving requires current listings from the same country, ideally for equivalent storage, with taxes and promotions made clear.

Quick Recap
Which one should you choose?
- Choose the iQOO 15 if you want a conventional flat-screen phone and value its stated 144Hz refresh rate, 7,000mAh battery, 100W wired charging or three 50MP rear cameras.
- Choose the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra if an 8-inch inner screen for a larger reading, viewing or multitasking workspace matters more than having a conventional flat-screen design.
- Compare before deciding on speed, endurance or camera quality: manufacturer specifications describe the hardware, but they do not establish an overall winner in real-world performance, battery life or photography.
