The iQOO 15 is a conventional flagship with a 6.85-inch, 144Hz display and a 7,000mAh battery; Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold8 is a foldable that opens to a 7.6-inch inner screen and weighs 201g. On the India store listings cited here, their MRPs differ by ₹92,000, but the iQOO listing also shows a lower selected-configuration price that should not be compared with Samsung’s MRP as if both were equivalent offers.
At a glance: two different phone formats
The central choice is between a large, uninterrupted display in a standard phone and a smaller cover screen that unfolds into a broader workspace. Published specifications help compare hardware, but they do not establish which phone lasts longer in everyday use, takes better photos, performs better in sustained gaming, or proves more durable.

What the displays mean in daily use
iQOO 15: one large, high-resolution screen
The iQOO 15 combines a 6.85-inch AMOLED panel with 3168 × 1440 resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate, according to iQOO’s product material. It is the more straightforward fit if you want a large screen without opening or closing a device. The figures describe the panel, not the quality of every app or the phone’s performance under all conditions.
#1 Best Overall
Galaxy Z Fold8: cover display plus an inner workspace
Samsung lists a 5.5-inch cover screen for quick, phone-style use and a 7.6-inch inner display with a 4:3 aspect ratio when unfolded. That gives the Fold8 a different use case: open it when you want more room for content or multitasking, and use the cover display when closed. Whether the larger unfolded workspace is worth choosing a foldable depends on how often you would use it.
Battery and charging: compare the figures, not an assumed runtime
For India, iQOO lists a 7,000mAh battery with 100W wired and 40W wireless charging. Samsung lists a 4,800mAh battery for the Galaxy Z Fold8, while Samsung Gulf specifies 45W fast charging. These are manufacturer specifications from different regional pages, so they should be treated as published capabilities rather than a controlled comparison.
Battery capacity and charging wattage alone do not predict screen-on time, charging duration in every situation, or how each phone behaves under heavy use. No comparable battery rundown is established by these product specifications.
Camera hardware: a different rear-camera mix
The iQOO India listing specifies three 50MP rear cameras: a main camera, an ultra-wide camera and a 3x periscope camera. Samsung’s Fold8 page lists two 50MP rear cameras, wide and ultra-wide. The iQOO listing also specifies a 32MP front camera; the cited Samsung page does not state a front-camera figure.
Rank #3
These specifications indicate different camera configurations, not which phone produces better photos or video. Megapixel counts and a periscope label do not substitute for comparable camera testing.
India price difference: keep the price bases consistent
On the cited India store pages, iQOO displayed ₹85,999 for the selected iQOO 15 Apex 12GB/256GB configuration, with an MRP of ₹92,999. Samsung India listed the Galaxy Z Fold8 at an MRP of ₹184,999 and showed separate exchange and offer messaging.
| Comparison basis | iQOO 15 | Galaxy Z Fold8 | Difference |
|---|---|---|---|
| Listed MRP | ₹92,999 (iQOO India listing) | ₹184,999 (Samsung India listing) | ₹92,000; calculated from the two listed MRPs |
| Displayed iQOO price versus Samsung MRP | ₹85,999 for selected Apex 12GB/256GB configuration (iQOO India listing) | ₹184,999 MRP (Samsung India listing) | ₹99,000; mixed price bases, not an apples-to-apples live-offer comparison |
Prices and offers can change. Check the official checkout pages for the exact storage variant, current price and terms; do not treat an exchange offer as a generally available price.
Which phone fits your priorities?
Consider the iQOO 15 if
- You prefer a conventional phone with a single 6.85-inch display rather than a foldable format.
- The India listing’s battery capacity, charging specifications and three-camera configuration match the features you are seeking.
- You are buying in India and can compare the exact 256GB or 512GB configuration and the price available at checkout.
Consider the Galaxy Z Fold8 if
- You specifically want a device that opens from a cover screen into a 7.6-inch, 4:3 inner display.
- You value the foldable format enough to assess its use in your own day-to-day tasks, rather than choosing by screen size alone.
- You have checked the exact local storage tier, price and any offer terms for your market.
Samsung identifies a separate Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra. Its larger display and different camera configuration are Ultra specifications, not Galaxy Z Fold8 specifications. For accessories, confirm the exact Fold8 model before buying a case or screen protector; compatibility should not be assumed from another Fold model.
