The following is a provisional workflow suggested by The Mac Observer, not a confirmed Apple procedure. The publication said Apple had not disclosed where the control appears, and its instructions could change when iPhone Duo becomes available.

- Frame the group. Make sure the people you want in the picture are visible. The guide mentions the phone’s reported 48MP Fusion Main and 48MP Ultra Wide cameras, but does not establish which camera Smart Take supports; do not assume either lens is compatible.
- Look for Smart Take in the capture options shown on your phone. Enable it if the control is available. The guide does not identify a menu, button, or exact Camera path, so follow the on-device control or current Apple instructions rather than relying on a guessed location.
- Keep the phone steady and wait. The guide suggests holding or propping up the phone while the feature looks for a posed moment. This behavior has not been independently verified.
- Review the saved picture in Photos.
What is not yet established
The available sources do not confirm Smart Take’s exact Camera control, supported phone positions, which cameras work with it, or how many people it can track. They also do not say whether it takes one frame or several, whether it can be adjusted or disabled for an individual shot, or whether third-party camera apps can use it. Do not assume it works with the front camera or in a particular open, closed, or hinge position.
If Smart Take does not take the photo
The Mac Observer suggests checking that people are visible and using the conventional shutter if needed. These are practical suggestions from a secondary guide, not steps in a published Apple troubleshooting checklist. If the control is missing, its location or availability remains unconfirmed in the cited information; consult current Apple instructions for the device rather than assuming a particular setting path.
