What is Xiaomi’s huge advantage over iPhone 18 Pro?
The Xiaomi 18 Pro’s reported 7,000mAh battery is the most striking hardware difference. It is a capacity figure reported in launch coverage, not a measure of how long the phone lasts. Battery life also depends on factors such as display use, network conditions and software, and the available sources do not establish a controlled, independent endurance comparison.

Xiaomi’s other distinctive extra is a rear OLED screen, reported at about 2.7 inches. It can show selected information and act as a viewfinder for selfies taken with the rear cameras. That is a different kind of advantage: a potential convenience, rather than evidence of better image quality or longer runtime.

Battery capacity is not the same as battery life
mAh describes a battery’s capacity, while playback hours describe performance in a particular test. The two figures answer different questions. Xiaomi’s larger reported capacity makes it the more obvious choice if you are comparing battery hardware, but it does not prove that it will outlast the iPhone between charges.

Apple’s 36-hour figure is specifically an up-to result for the eSIM-only iPhone 18 Pro based on Apple testing of preproduction units. It is not a real-world guarantee, and it cannot be used as a head-to-head result against the Xiaomi. No controlled comparison under the same conditions is established in the available coverage.

The camera trade-off is about controls and results, not megapixels alone
Apple’s main-camera distinction is a 48MP Fusion camera with variable aperture. Apple says its aperture can shift from ƒ/1.48 to ƒ/4 to adjust for light and depth of field. Xiaomi launch coverage instead reports 200MP main and telephoto cameras, plus a 50MP ultrawide.
Those specifications suggest different hardware approaches, but megapixel counts alone do not establish which phone takes better photos or video. The sources do not provide a controlled camera comparison, so choose based on tested samples and the controls you value—not the largest number in a spec sheet.

What the Xiaomi rear screen and privacy display add
Rear OLED screen
The additional screen is reported to support widgets, notifications and media controls, as well as framing selfies with the rear cameras. Its utility depends on whether those tasks matter to you; it is not a feature described for iPhone 18 Pro. Coverage gives slightly different measurements—2.66 inches in TechRadar and 2.7 inches elsewhere—so about 2.7 inches is the sensible level of precision.

Privacy display
Android Central describes a privacy feature that can hide selected content using location-based triggers. Treat that as reported functionality, not a verified security guarantee. TechRadar’s hands-on author had access to a demonstration unit but could not unlock the Smart Privacy Display to test it.

Availability could matter more than the spec sheet
September 2026 reporting describes the Xiaomi 18 Pro as launched in China. In a September 23 hands-on article, TechRadar said the timing and extent of global availability were unclear. A China-market listing or import is not equivalent to an official local model.
Before buying, confirm the phone’s exact model and regional configuration with the seller. In particular, check:
- Whether Xiaomi officially sells that model in your country and whether the seller is authorized.
- Supported cellular bands and compatibility with your carrier.
- The software region and availability of the services and features you need.
- What warranty applies locally, and who handles repairs or returns.
- The final local price; the reported 5,999 CNY China starting price does not establish the price elsewhere.
Which one should you choose?
Choose the Xiaomi 18 Pro if
- You want the larger reported battery capacity and understand that capacity alone does not prove longer runtime.
- You would use a rear screen for notifications, controls or selfie framing.
- The exact model is officially available to you, or you have checked the risks of importing it.
Choose the iPhone 18 Pro if
- You prefer Apple’s camera approach, including a variable-aperture 48MP main camera.
- You want a phone with an established Apple announcement, specification page and stated launch availability in your market.
- Apple’s own eSIM-only video-playback claim is useful context for your decision, while recognizing it is not a direct comparison with Xiaomi.
Neither set of specifications settles questions about equivalent regional pricing, long-term software support, or which phone has the better camera in practice. Those points require market-specific information and direct comparisons that the cited launch coverage does not establish.
