The headline’s UPI “bad news” and “live TV without internet” claims, however, do not identify a specific rule or viewing method that can be verified.
Which iPhone 18 models have launched in India?
India Today reported that Apple launched the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max in September 2026. Its report gave India starting prices of ₹1,64,900 for the Pro and ₹1,79,900 for the Pro Max, with preorders scheduled for September 12 and sales for September 18. Those are the dates and prices reported at launch; they do not establish current stock or a retailer’s current price.

The standard iPhone 18 was not announced at that event. India Today and The Indian Express describe a spring 2027 launch window as a reported expectation, not a date Apple has officially confirmed. The Pro launch should not be treated as confirmation that the standard model is already available or has an official release date.
Did iPhone prices go up in India?
Yes. Indian reports describe price increases for several older iPhone models. The clearest like-for-like figure in India Today’s 2026 coverage is for the 256GB iPhone 17: its reported price rose from ₹82,900 to ₹99,900, a ₹17,000 increase.

The Indian Express reported that the increases to the iPhone 16 and iPhone 17 series were not accompanied by hardware or specification upgrades. These are reported retail-price changes, not a price schedule guaranteed to remain current at every seller.
What might explain the increases?
Moneycontrol quoted Tarun Pathak, Research Director at Counterpoint Research, attributing the increases partly to a weaker rupee and higher domestic production costs. Pathak also characterized India’s reported increases as larger than international trends. That is an analyst’s explanation and comparison, not an explanation Apple has confirmed.

Is iPhone Duo fake?
“Fake” is misleading if it means the product itself is a hoax: Apple announced iPhone Duo as its first foldable iPhone on September 9, 2026. Apple describes a 7.6-inch inner display and a 5.4-inch outer display.

Apple announced preorders in India from 5 a.m. Pacific Time on October 16, 2026, with availability beginning October 23. As of October 3, those dates are still in the future; an announced schedule is not proof that the phone is already on sale or in stock. Moneycontrol separately reported an India starting price of ₹2,99,900. Treat that as a reported price, not a current store quote.

If “fake” refers to a counterfeit listing or a misleading offer using the Duo name, Apple’s product announcement cannot authenticate a particular seller, listing, or device. Check the seller and exact product details rather than treating a viral post or listing as proof of genuine stock.
What is the UPI “bad news” in India?
The headline does not name a specific UPI change, transaction limit, fee, outage, fraud alert, or dated notice. Without that detail, it is not possible to confirm that a new UPI rule or other “bad news” has occurred. Do not treat an unsourced social post as evidence of a policy change.

To assess a particular claim, look for its date and exact wording, then check whether NPCI or the relevant bank or payment provider has issued a notice about it. A general warning about fraud, a temporary service interruption, and a formal change to payment rules are different claims and need different evidence.
Can you watch live TV without internet?
Sometimes, but “live TV without internet” is not one universal setup. The headline does not specify a country, broadcaster, device, or reception method, so it cannot establish that a particular antenna, tuner, or service will work for you. Terrestrial broadcast is one possible way to receive television without an internet connection, but local coverage, compatible equipment, and available channels vary by region.

Before buying equipment, check the local broadcast regulator or broadcaster for the channels and reception technology available at your address. A streaming app generally needs an internet connection; an over-the-air signal, where available, is received differently. Do not assume that a generic antenna or phone accessory provides live TV everywhere.
