Check the current listing and your own checkout total before treating it as an under-₹80,000 deal.
How the reported ₹79,992 price was calculated
The October 8 sale-live report from Moneycontrol described this effective price for the iPhone 17 with 256GB storage:

Why other iPhone 17 prices may appear
The deal figure is tied to a dated sale report, and the listing price can change. Moneycontrol’s coverage cited a ₹99,900 reference price and a ₹84,999 sale price. In the retailer’s surfaced Apple catalog, the 256GB model appeared at ₹86,999 for several colours. Those are different price snapshots, not amounts that should be treated as a single live offer. Refresh the listing and verify the selected seller, colour, storage, and offer panel before ordering.

The offer framing also changed between reports. A Moneycontrol pre-sale article dated October 3, 2026 advertised an effective ₹79,999, calculated from a ₹84,999 sale price, a ₹2,000 eligible ICICI Bank or Axis Bank credit-card discount, and a ₹3,000 exchange bonus. That was a different offer calculation from the October 8 sale-live report’s ₹5,000 Flipkart Axis Bank benefit and ₹7 in SuperCoins. Do not assume the earlier exchange-bonus terms apply to the later price.
Exchange offers: calculate with your own phone, not the headline maximum
Moneycontrol’s sale coverage described exchange savings of up to ₹51,150, including an additional ₹3,000 benefit. “Up to” is a maximum, not a guaranteed discount or a cash price available without a trade-in. The quote can depend on the old phone’s model and condition, your location or pincode, the seller, and offer eligibility.

- Enter the exact phone you plan to exchange and its actual condition to see the quote.
- Check whether an exchange bonus is shown for your device and whether it has separate eligibility requirements.
- Compare the final amount with and without exchange. Count only the reduction actually offered for your phone, not the headline maximum.
What to check before deciding whether it is a good deal
- Open the current 256GB listing. Confirm that the product is the iPhone 17 256GB, not another storage size, model, or seller listing.
- Read the offer panel. Verify the qualifying card, minimum transaction or other stated conditions, the discount amount, and whether the offer is active for your account.
- Check SuperCoins separately. Confirm how many can be applied to this order and the resulting checkout reduction.
- Price any exchange on its own merits. Use your device’s actual quote and inspect the final payable amount with the exchange applied.
- Review the order summary. The checkout total for your selected variant and delivery pincode—not a headline effective price—is the amount to compare.
Flipkart’s surfaced catalog lists the 256GB iPhone 17 with a 6.3-inch Super Retina XDR display, 48MP + 48MP rear cameras, an 18MP front camera, an A19 chip, and a one-year limited warranty. These are retailer listing details, not independent test findings. The catalog lists a 512GB version separately, so choose storage based on your needs and compare the price of that exact variant rather than assuming the 256GB offer applies to it.

₹79,992 is a notable reported effective price for a new iPhone 17 256GB, but the available figures do not establish a market-wide best-price ranking. Whether it is your best deal depends on the current checkout price, your eligibility for the bank and SuperCoin benefits, any exchange quote for your old phone, and the storage variant you want. Treat the October 8 figure as a dated benchmark; decide using the offer and final total shown to you on Flipkart.
