Which phone has the better screen?
The POVA 8 Pro 5G has the larger screen and the higher stated refresh rate: its display measures 6.78 inches diagonally and is specified at 144 Hz. The iPhone 16 display measures 6.12 inches diagonally as a standard rectangle. That makes the POVA the more clearly documented choice if you want more screen area or a high refresh rate, but those figures alone do not establish which screen looks better in everyday use.

POVA 8 Pro 5G: Android 16 and HiOS 16
TECNO specifies a MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultimate 5G chip and HiOS 16 based on Android 16. That makes the POVA the Android-based option in this comparison. The available specifications do not establish a comparative software-update duration or independent performance results.
What do the camera specifications tell you?
The iPhone 16 pairs a 48 MP main camera with sensor-shift optical image stabilization and a 12 MP ultra-wide camera. Apple also describes a 2× telephoto option enabled by the main camera. TECNO lists a 50 MP OIS rear camera and an 8 MP ultra-wide, plus a 13 MP front camera.

These are different camera configurations, not a verdict on photo or video quality. Megapixel counts and lens descriptions cannot substitute for comparable image tests, which are not established by the cited specifications.
Battery, charging and protection: what is documented?
TECNO specifies a 6,500 mAh battery, 45 W charging and USB-C for the POVA 8 Pro 5G. These figures make its battery and charging details more explicit in the available comparison, but they do not demonstrate longer real-world battery life. The cited Apple specification extract does not establish iPhone 16 battery capacity or charging wattage, so a numerical battery comparison is not supported.

Apple specifies IP68 for iPhone 16, with a maximum depth of 6 metres for up to 30 minutes under IEC 60529. TECNO’s cited official specification page does not list an IP rating for the POVA; that absence is not proof that the phone has no protection, but it means an equivalent rating cannot be confirmed from that source.
What is the price difference?
A like-for-like price difference cannot be stated without choosing a market, purchase date, seller and comparable storage configuration. Gadgets 360’s India listing, last updated 2 October 2026, reported the POVA 8 Pro 5G at ₹49,999 for 8 GB/256 GB and ₹54,999 for 12 GB/512 GB. Those are dated India listing prices, not a universal or guaranteed current price.

No matching current iPhone 16 price for a specified market and storage configuration is established here. Check local retailer prices for both exact variants before deciding; converting the India POVA listing into a direct comparison would not account for regional pricing, taxes or seller offers.
Which one should you choose?
- Choose the POVA 8 Pro 5G if a larger 144 Hz display and a published 6,500 mAh battery specification are priorities, and you want an Android 16-based phone.
- Choose the iPhone 16 if you prefer Apple’s software ecosystem, want the A18 platform and its listed camera features, or value its specified IP68 rating.
- Compare local prices and exact variants before buying. The POVA’s India prices do not establish what either phone costs in another market, and the available storage evidence is not equivalent for both models.
Neither set of specifications establishes an overall winner: the right choice turns on your software preference, display priorities, protection needs and the actual prices available to you.
