No. Apple specifies the iPhone 15 for Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), not Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be). It can connect to a Wi-Fi 7 router, but that connection does not upgrade the phone’s Wi-Fi capability.
Which Wi-Fi standard does the iPhone 15 support?
Apple lists the iPhone 15’s wireless specification as “Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) with 2×2 MIMO” in its iPhone 15 technical specifications. MIMO describes the device’s multiple-input, multiple-output wireless configuration; it does not mean the phone supports a newer Wi-Fi generation.

Apple’s Wi-Fi and Ethernet specifications for Apple devices maps 802.11ax to Wi-Fi 6 and 802.11be to Wi-Fi 7. Because the iPhone 15 is specified for 802.11ax, it is not a Wi-Fi 7 device.

Can the iPhone 15 connect to a Wi-Fi 7 router?
Yes. The phone can connect to a Wi-Fi 7 router using the Wi-Fi capability Apple lists for the iPhone 15: Wi-Fi 6. A newer router does not add 802.11be support to the phone; that capability is determined by the device’s own wireless hardware.

Apple’s specifications do not establish a particular connection speed, range, or performance result for the iPhone 15 with any specific router. Those outcomes depend on the router, network conditions, and other factors, so a specific speed should not be inferred from the Wi-Fi generation alone.
Should you get a Wi-Fi 7 router for an iPhone 15?
A Wi-Fi 7 router will not make an iPhone 15 use Wi-Fi 7. It may make sense for other compatible devices or future network needs, but if the purchase is solely to give this phone Wi-Fi 7 support, it will not solve that requirement. The iPhone 15 remains a Wi-Fi 6 device.
