The vivo X300 has newer hardware on paper, including a 200MP main camera, a dedicated 3x telephoto camera, a 6040mAh typical battery and 90W charging. The iPhone 15 offers Apple’s iOS ecosystem, a 48MP main camera with 2x optical-quality zoom, USB-C and Dynamic Island. Those specifications do not establish which phone is faster in everyday use or takes better photos. The India prices available for comparison also come from different dates and configurations, so they do not show a reliable current price gap.
iPhone 15 vs vivo X300: key specifications
| Specification | Apple iPhone 15 | vivo X300 | What it means when choosing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Display | 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR | 6.31-inch AMOLED, 2640 × 1216 | Both are relatively compact compared with large-screen phones; the vivo display is slightly larger. Refresh-rate details for the exact market SKU are not established by the cited comparison material. |
| Chip and software at launch / on cited India pages | A16 Bionic; launched with iOS 17 | MediaTek Dimensity 9500; Android 16 with OriginOS 6 on cited India pages | Choose primarily by platform and ecosystem preference. No comparable benchmark evidence establishes a performance winner. |
| Rear cameras | 48MP main camera; Apple describes 0.5x, 1x and 2x optical-quality zoom levels | 200MP main with OIS, 50MP ultrawide and 50MP telephoto with OIS and 3x optical zoom | The X300 lists a separate telephoto camera; the iPhone’s 2x option is described as optical-quality zoom. Megapixel count and zoom range alone do not prove image quality. |
| Battery and wired charging | Capacity and charging wattage not stated in the Apple launch announcement cited here | 6040mAh typical battery; 90W FlashCharge | The X300 lists larger stated capacity and higher wired charging power, but this does not establish longer real-world battery life. |
| Price evidence for India | ₹79,900 starting price at launch in September 2023 | ₹89,999 for 12GB+512GB on the vivo India Store listing accessed in 2026 | Different dates and storage bases mean these figures cannot be treated as a current, like-for-like price comparison. |
| Water and dust protection | Apple describes water and dust resistance and notes it can decline with wear; liquid damage is not covered | IP68/IP69 listed by vivo, with laboratory-condition, non-permanent-resistance and liquid-ingress warranty caveats | Neither should be described as waterproof; resistance has limits and can change over time. |
| Other notable features | USB-C and Dynamic Island | See vivo’s India product and parameter pages for regional feature details | Verify the exact regional model before comparing features or network compatibility. |

Which phone has the better camera setup?
vivo X300: dedicated telephoto hardware
The cited vivo India specifications list a 200MP main camera with optical image stabilisation, a 50MP ultrawide and a 50MP telephoto camera with OIS and 3x optical zoom. That gives the X300 a dedicated telephoto camera in the listed configuration.
iPhone 15: 2x optical-quality zoom
Apple describes the iPhone 15’s 48MP main camera as supporting 0.5x, 1x and 2x optical-quality zoom levels. This is not the same hardware description as a separate telephoto camera. A higher megapixel figure or a longer stated zoom level does not by itself show which phone produces more pleasing or reliable photos; the cited materials contain no independent side-by-side camera testing.

How different are the India prices?
Apple’s India launch announcement on 12 September 2023 set the iPhone 15 starting price at ₹79,900, with 128GB, 256GB and 512GB storage options. That is historical launch pricing, not a verified current retail price. The vivo India Store listing for the X300 12GB+512GB configuration showed ₹89,999 when accessed in 2026. A separate 16GB+512GB listing showed ₹93,999 and was marked unavailable in the captured result.
These figures do not establish that the X300 currently costs a particular amount more than the iPhone 15: one is vivo’s configuration-specific store listing and the other is Apple’s 2023 starting price. For a useful purchase comparison, check live prices for the same day, compare storage capacity, and confirm stock and any discounts for your region.

Battery and charging: what the specifications can—and cannot—tell you
vivo lists a 6040mAh typical battery and 90W FlashCharge for the X300. Apple’s cited launch announcement does not quantify the iPhone 15’s battery capacity or charging wattage. The available figures therefore do not support a direct capacity comparison, and battery capacity alone cannot predict how long a phone lasts between charges. No comparable battery-life testing is available in the cited material.
Software and ecosystem
The iPhone 15 runs Apple’s iOS platform; Apple’s 2023 announcement says it launched with iOS 17. The cited India X300 pages identify Android 16 with OriginOS 6. Choose based on the apps, services, accessories and devices you already use, as well as which operating system you prefer. The cited Apple launch page does not establish the iPhone 15’s current software-support status, so it should not be used to make a current support-duration claim.

Water resistance and durability limits
vivo lists IP68 and IP69 ratings for the X300 and says its resistance results are based on laboratory conditions. The company also cautions that resistance is not permanent, that the phone is not a professional waterproof device and that liquid-ingress damage is not covered by warranty. Apple likewise describes the iPhone 15 as water- and dust-resistant, notes resistance may decline with wear and says liquid damage is not covered. These qualifications matter: a rating is not a promise that either phone can be used safely in every wet environment.

Which should you choose?
- Choose the vivo X300 if you prefer Android with OriginOS 6, want the listed dedicated 3x optical telephoto camera, or value its stated 90W wired charging specification and 6040mAh typical battery.
- Choose the iPhone 15 if you prefer iOS and Apple’s ecosystem, want Dynamic Island and USB-C, or find a suitable current offer for your preferred storage configuration.
- Do not decide on a claimed performance, camera or battery-life winner based only on these specifications. The cited sources do not provide comparable independent testing.
- Before buying in India, check current price and stock for the exact storage configuration; for purchases elsewhere, confirm the regional X300 model and its features.
