The right choice depends more on whether you want a folding design and which operating system you use than on their nearly identical listed weights. The available price figures come from different countries and dates, so they do not establish which phone costs less in a like-for-like purchase.
What is the main difference between the iPhone 15 Pro and Razr 50?
The iPhone 15 Pro, introduced in 2023, has a fixed 6.1-inch display and runs iOS. The Razr 50 runs Android 14 in Motorola’s listed specifications and folds open to a 6.9-inch main screen; its 3.63-inch outer screen lets you use some functions without opening it. Both are listed at about 188g, but the Razr’s folding design and two screens make its day-to-day use different from a conventional phone.

Which phone is better for your priorities?
Choose the iPhone 15 Pro if you want a compact, conventional iOS phone
- You prefer a fixed-screen phone rather than a folding one.
- You use iOS apps and services or want your phone to fit an existing Apple-device setup.
- A dedicated 3x telephoto camera is useful to you. The Razr 50’s listed rear cameras are a main camera and an ultra-wide, without a separate telephoto camera.
- You want an Apple-stated IP68 rating with a specified controlled-lab depth and duration. That condition is not a guarantee against damage in every real-world situation.
Choose the Razr 50 if you want a foldable screen and cover display
- You want a large 6.9-inch screen when the phone is open, but a smaller outer display for use while it is folded.
- You prefer Android or want the flexibility of a folding form factor.
- You value a listed 30W wired-charging capability or want a main camera with OIS. Those specifications do not, by themselves, establish faster real-world charging or better photographs.
Check your needs before deciding
- Storage: Apple lists four iPhone 15 Pro capacities from 128GB to 1TB. Motorola Germany lists 256GB and 512GB Razr 50 configurations, but another market may offer different variants.
- Protection: IPX8 on the Razr 50 is not equivalent to the iPhone’s IP68 label; the “X” does not specify dust protection. Do not treat either rating as a promise of damage-free use in all conditions.
- Performance, battery life, durability, and camera results: the specifications cited here do not establish comparative benchmark performance, endurance, long-term hinge durability, or real-world image quality.
What is the price difference?
The documented figures are not a valid direct price comparison: one is Apple’s US launch price in 2023, while the other is a price displayed on Motorola India’s storefront in an access snapshot from 2026. They use different currencies, markets, dates, and price bases.
| Phone and source | Documented price | What the figure means |
|---|---|---|
| iPhone 15 Pro — Apple announcement, September 12, 2023 | $999 starting price | US launch starting price announced by Apple; availability began September 22, 2023. |
| Razr 50 — Motorola India storefront, accessed October 7, 2026 | ₹44,999; MRP ₹74,999 | Storefront display for the 8GB/256GB configuration in India, as seen on the access date; the displayed price is volatile. |
Sources: Apple’s September 12, 2023 announcement and Motorola India’s Razr listings. Do not subtract these figures or infer that one phone is cheaper from them. To compare current prices, check new, unlocked phones in the same country, with comparable storage, and note the retailer and date; refurbished units should be compared separately.

How to make the decision
- Choose the shape first: decide whether you want a conventional phone or a device that opens into a larger screen and has a cover display.
- Choose your platform: account for the apps and devices you already use, since these phones run different operating systems.
- Match the hardware to your use: consider the iPhone’s listed 3x telephoto camera, the Razr’s foldable displays, and the storage configuration actually sold in your market.
- Compare local offers: check the same condition and similar storage in your country, then compare current totals rather than mixing launch and storefront prices.
