In iOS 27 kun je het beltoonvolume loskoppelen van twee geluids groepen: Alarms and Timers en Alerts and System Sounds. Dat zijn groepsregelaars, geen aparte volumeschuifjes voor elke app, melding of elk standaardalarm. Zo zet je bijvoorbeeld alarmen en timers harder zonder ook je meldingen harder te zetten.
Zo stel je de volumes apart in

Open Instellingen en tik op Horen en voelen (Engels: Sounds & Haptics).

Zoek de groep die je wilt aanpassen: Alarms and Timers of Alerts and System Sounds.

Zet bij die groep Match Ringtone Volume uit. Er verschijnt een eigen schuifregelaar.

Versleep de schuifregelaar naar het gewenste niveau. Herhaal dit voor de andere groep als je ook die los van het beltoonvolume wilt instellen.
Apple vermeldt dat alarmen, timers, meldingen en systeemgeluiden standaard het beltoonvolume volgen. De afzonderlijke schuifregelaars maken het mogelijk die groepen daarvan los te koppelen. Apple’s iOS 27-handleiding voor geluiden en trillingen

Welke geluiden vallen onder elke volumeregelaar?

De bediening is dus niet bedoeld om bijvoorbeeld alleen de meldingen van één app stiller te zetten. Ook geeft Apple hiermee geen eigen schuifregelaar voor elk standaardalarm. Een bericht van 9to5Mac van 8 juni 2026 merkt bovendien op dat Wake-Up-alarmen en andere alarmen met een eigen volumeregeling buiten de instelling voor alarmen en timers kunnen vallen.
Een Wake-Up-alarm kan een eigen volume gebruiken
Verandert het volume van je Wake-Up-alarm niet wanneer je de groep Alarms and Timers aanpast? Controleer dan de eigen volumeregeling van dat alarm of de bijbehorende slaapinstelling. De nieuwe groepsregelaar is niet gegarandeerd bepalend voor alarmen die al een eigen volumeregeling hebben. 9to5Mac beschrijft deze uitzondering voor Wake-Up-alarmen en andere alarmen met eigen volume.

Wat doen de zijknoppen en de stille modus?
Volgens Apple regelen de zijknoppen media wanneer audio wordt afgespeeld. Op andere momenten regelen ze beltoon- en meldingsvolume; als Change with Buttons uitstaat, regelen ze volgens de handleiding alleen media. De handleiding bevestigt niet dat je met die knoppen de nieuwe groepsschuifregelaars aanpast. Gebruik daarvoor de bediening in Instellingen > Horen en voelen. Stille modus en Niet storen zetten het geluid van een alarm volgens Apple niet uit. Dat staat los van de keuze om alarmen en timers via de nieuwe groepsinstelling zachter of harder te zetten. Apple’s uitleg over iPhone-alarmen

Als de instelling niet overeenkomt met je verwachting

Meldingen blijven even hard als je beltoon: controleer of je Match Ringtone Volume hebt uitgeschakeld bij Alerts and System Sounds, en niet alleen bij Alarms and Timers.

Een alarm verandert niet mee: kijk na of het een Wake-Up-alarm of een ander alarm met een eigen volumeregeling is; pas zo nodig de eigen alarm- of slaapinstelling aan.

De zijknoppen lijken de verkeerde groep te veranderen: pas de groepen rechtstreeks aan via Instellingen > Horen en voelen. Apple’s uitleg over de knoppen beschrijft beltoon- en meldingsvolume, niet bediening van de nieuwe groepsschuifregelaars.
