The Ionmax ION632 is a desiccant dehumidifier specified for year-round use, including cooler conditions than many compressor models are designed for. Ionmax rates it to remove 10 L of moisture per day at 20°C and 60% relative humidity (RH), but that is a manufacturer rating, not an independently measured result. Its 3.5 L tank, continuous Laundry mode and relatively high listed power draw are important to weigh alongside that capacity.
What the ION632 offers
Ionmax describes the ION632 as a zeolite, or desiccant, dehumidifier for rooms up to 50 m². That coverage figure and the 10 L/day extraction rating are manufacturer claims; actual moisture removal depends on room conditions and has not been independently established in the available evidence. The product is intended for domestic environments and light office use, according to the Ionmax ION632 user manual.

Specifications are not a substitute for a room test. In particular, the extraction figure should only be compared with another dehumidifier’s rating when both are stated at the same temperature and humidity. The ION632 manual also says its displayed RH has a ±10% tolerance and can vary with room temperature, so its target setting should not be treated as precision climate measurement. Ionmax’s ION632 product listing has the current manufacturer specifications.
How the controls and modes work
Humidity targets
The manual documents three selectable humidity targets: 40%, 50% and 60% RH. The unit operates toward the selected target; its displayed RH reading is subject to the tolerance noted above.

Auto, Low and High power
Power can be set to Auto, Low or High. Ionmax lists a 420–740 W range for the current product page, while its brochure gives a 420–720 W range. These are manufacturer specifications, not measurements made in a comparative test, and the differing upper figures should be checked against the revision or listing relevant to the purchase.
Laundry mode
Laundry mode runs continuously rather than stopping at a humidity target. The manual says the heater continues at the selected power regardless of humidity unless ambient temperature becomes too high; it gives 2–8 hours as guidance for a laundry cycle depending on the power setting. That is not a verified drying-time result. The same manual cautions against routine daily use of Laundry mode because continuous heater operation can use excess energy.

Tank emptying and continuous drainage
The 3.5 L tank needs to be emptied as water collects unless a continuous drain is connected. How often it needs emptying depends on how much moisture the unit collects; the rated daily extraction capacity does not mean the tank holds a day’s output.

For continuous drainage, the manual specifies a hose with a 12 mm inner diameter, routed through the rear opening to the tank drain outlet. The product brochure says a hose is provided, so check the package contents for the applicable listing before buying an additional hose. Follow the drainage diagram for the unit revision to ensure the hose is routed and positioned correctly.

Ionmax’s manual states: “Operate this unit at an ambient temperature between 1°C and 40°C.” It also instructs users to place the appliance upright on a stable, level surface, keep air inlets and outlets clear, and avoid confined spaces and locations close to heat sources. Check that household voltage matches the appliance rating before use. These are manufacturer instructions, not findings from independent safety testing.

After switching the unit off, do not pull the plug immediately: the manual says the fan runs for about two minutes to cool internal components. Keep that cooldown period in mind when planning to move or disconnect the appliance.

- It may suit: someone seeking a desiccant unit for year-round operation, who values selectable humidity targets and can accommodate its size and power draw.
- Consider another option or compare carefully: if low electricity use, quiet operation, or a compact footprint is the main priority. The listed 44 dB Low and 51 dB High figures and 420–740 W power range are manufacturer specifications, not independently measured results.
- Think through drainage: if the unit will run for long stretches, decide whether regular tank emptying is practical or whether a suitable gravity-drain route is available.
Ionmax’s comparison materials identify the ION630 Vienne as another desiccant model to consider. Compare models using matching extraction test conditions and the same kinds of specifications—tank size, noise, power, controls, timer and dimensions. Manufacturer specifications alone do not establish which model is quieter or more efficient.
Price, stock and warranty vary by listing
Ionmax page variants showed different prices and stock states, including $499 with stock available and $549 marked sold out; these are not a universal or guaranteed current price. Warranty wording also varied across the product-page versions and brochure, appearing as 2 years, 2 + 2 years or 4 years. Confirm the price, stock, warranty terms, voltage and included hose on the specific market listing before buying.
