What the official platform information actually confirms
The official Inscryption site describes the game as “Out Now on PC, Playstation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch.” Its storefront links cover those systems and do not include the Apple App Store or Google Play. That is the strongest current evidence about availability: there is no verified mobile release in the publisher’s platform lineup as of October 18, 2026.

This distinction matters because search results, videos, sideloaded packages, fan projects, and compatibility layers can make a game appear to have a phone version even when the publisher has not released one. An Android package or an iPhone listing that is not distributed through the platform’s first-party store and not acknowledged by the publisher should not be treated as official Inscryption support.

Can you play Inscryption offline on a phone?
There is no confirmed answer for an official phone version because no official phone version is documented. Offline play is a property of a specific mobile build: the developer would need to state that the complete game can launch and load saves without an internet connection after installation. The current official platform information makes no such statement for iOS or Android.
Do not infer mobile offline support from the fact that the console and PC game is primarily single-player. A single-player product can still require an online check, an account sign-in, or a download of additional content on a particular platform. Conversely, a future mobile edition could support airplane-mode play, but that capability would need to be confirmed for that edition.
What “offline” should mean if a mobile release appears
For a trustworthy offline claim, check whether the store description or publisher documentation answers all of these points:

- Can the installed game start with Wi-Fi and cellular data disabled?
- Can an existing save be loaded while the device is offline?
- Can new progress be saved offline and recovered after reconnecting?
- Is an internet connection required only for the first download, or on every launch?
- Are updates, verification, or account authentication required before offline play works?
A remote-play session from a PC or console is not native mobile offline play. It displays a game running elsewhere and normally needs a network connection between the phone and the host. It may be useful for playing on a phone-shaped screen, but it does not create a mobile installation or prove that the phone can run Inscryption without connectivity.
Does Inscryption have cloud saves on iPhone or Android?
No mobile cloud-save system is documented. The Steam product page identifies the PC release as “Single-player” and lists “Steam Cloud” among its features. That confirms cloud synchronization for the Steam edition under Steam’s own account and storage system; it does not establish iCloud, Google Play Games, or any publisher account that would synchronize a mobile save.
Cloud saving is not one universal feature. It can mean a platform-managed backup, an account-based save shared by a publisher, or a device backup that happens to include an app’s local files. Those systems are not automatically interchangeable.

Steam Cloud also does not mean that every version of a game shares one universal save. Steam synchronization is tied to the Steam product and account. A mobile developer would have to implement its own import, export, or account-linking system for a phone save to connect to that data.
Can you continue a PC save on mobile?
There is no publisher-documented way to move Inscryption progress from PC to iPhone or Android. The official platform information lists releases and Steam-specific cloud support, but it does not describe cross-save, cross-progression, account linking, or a save-import tool between PC and mobile.
Even if a future mobile build uses the same game content, progress transfer would still depend on technical compatibility. The mobile edition would need to recognize the PC save format, provide a secure way to copy it, and explain how achievements, unlocks, and version differences are handled. None of those requirements is currently specified.

Does progress transfer between PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch?
Cross-platform progress is not documented for the currently listed releases. Owning the game on two systems should therefore be treated as owning two separate installations unless the publisher explicitly announces a shared-save feature.

Platform cloud backup is different from cross-platform progression. A console service may restore a save to another console of the same family, and Steam Cloud may restore a PC save to another computer using the same Steam account. Neither behavior, by itself, moves progress to a different platform ecosystem.

Unofficial ports, modified packages, emulators, and sideloaded installers fall outside the publisher’s documented support. They can create practical problems such as malware, altered game files, missing updates, broken saves, copyright concerns, or requests for credentials. Their existence cannot be used as evidence that an official mobile edition exists.

Streaming from a computer or console is a separate workaround. In that setup, the host device runs the official game and the phone acts as a display and controller. You still need the host installation, a compatible streaming setup, and a network connection. Saves remain on the host platform and follow that platform’s storage rules; streaming does not add iCloud, Google Play Games, or cross-platform progression.
How to verify a future mobile release
If a mobile edition is announced later, verify its capabilities before buying or installing it. Use this checklist rather than relying on an app title or an online video:
- Check the first-party store. Look in the Apple App Store or Google Play and confirm the developer and publisher names match the official announcement.
- Check the publisher’s platform list. A genuine release should appear on the official Inscryption site or in a publisher announcement, not only on a third-party download page.
- Read the save description. Look specifically for “local saves,” “cloud save,” “cross-save,” “cross-progression,” or account-linking language. If the listing says nothing, treat the feature as unconfirmed.
- Test offline behavior. After the initial installation and any required download, disable Wi-Fi and cellular data. Launch the game, load a save, make a small change, close it, and verify that the change remains.
- Test synchronization separately. Sign in on a second device only after confirming which account controls the save. Do not assume that a device backup or store purchase transfers game progress.
- Look for platform limits. Check whether iOS and Android share saves, whether mobile can import PC or console data, and whether an account is required for cross-device recovery.
- Review version notes. Save compatibility can change with updates. Keep a current backup where the platform permits it before installing a major update.
What the physical editions tell you—and what they do not
An official announcement says Special Reserve Games partnered with Devolver Digital and Daniel Mullins Games to create physical editions of Inscryption for Nintendo Switch and PS5. This confirms additional distribution for those two console platforms. It does not announce an iOS or Android port, a mobile offline mode, a mobile cloud service, or cross-platform saves.

A physical edition and a digital mobile edition solve different problems. A cartridge or disc can provide a console copy without a mobile operating-system build. Save handling still follows the console platform, and no transfer feature should be assumed unless the publisher documents one.

Bottom line for mobile buyers
As of October 18, 2026, Inscryption has no verified official iOS or Android release. That means native offline phone play, iPhone or Android cloud saves, and progress transfer between mobile and PC or consoles are not established. Steam Cloud applies to the Steam PC product only. Treat any mobile listing, port, or save-transfer claim as unofficial until it appears in a first-party store and is confirmed by the publisher with explicit offline and synchronization details.
