There is no universal winner. Infomaniak kSuite is the stronger starting point for a team that prioritizes Swiss hosting, unlimited mailbox storage and clearly published per-user kDrive allocations. Google Workspace is usually the lower-friction choice for an organization already built around Gmail, Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, Meet and Chat. Your decision should follow your existing workflow, required storage model, data-location obligations, administration features and migration risk—not the headline monthly price alone.
The figures below are the providers’ published terms accessed on 13 October 2026. Infomaniak quotes Swiss francs and displays introductory pricing on some tiers; Google lists standard US-dollar prices before tax and also shows promotions. Treat them as planning figures, not a like-for-like quotation. Confirm the live order page, billing term, tax treatment and entitlements for your country before signing.

What you get from each service
Infomaniak kSuite
kSuite bundles four core services: professional Mail, kDrive cloud storage, kMeet video meetings and kChat team messaging. Infomaniak publishes unlimited email storage on the Standard, Business and Enterprise tiers reviewed here. Storage for files is presented as a kDrive allowance for each user, which makes capacity easier to model when you know the number of licensed accounts.

The suite is designed as one Infomaniak ecosystem rather than a collection of separate accounts. The provider’s plan material describes online editing and collaboration, while the higher tiers add capabilities such as Microsoft Office Online integration, custom branding and identity provisioning. The exact entitlement depends on the tier; do not assume that an advanced control shown on the Business or Enterprise row is included in Standard.

Google Workspace
Google Workspace combines Gmail, Drive, Meet, Chat, Calendar and the browser-based Docs, Sheets and Slides editors. Its storage is described as pooled organization storage: the allowance is calculated per user, then shared by the organization rather than locked to an individual mailbox or Drive account. That model can be efficient when some employees use little storage and others need much more, but it requires an administrator to monitor the common pool.
Google’s feature matrix assigns capabilities such as meeting recording, additional Gemini features, Vault and Enterprise data regions to particular plans. Because Google changes feature packaging and regional availability, check the current matrix for the country and edition you intend to buy.
Plan prices and included capacity
The following table records the displayed terms without converting currencies. Infomaniak’s figures are shown on an annual-pricing display; Business and Enterprise also show a first-year introductory rate. Google’s figures are standard prices before tax. Promotional offers can have eligibility limits and expiration dates.

Why the prices are not directly interchangeable
CHF 1.76 and US$7 are not equivalent quotes. Convert at a stated date if you need a currency comparison, then add VAT or sales tax, account for annual versus monthly commitment, and remove any one-time or first-year promotion before comparing recurring cost. Also compare equivalent service levels: a kSuite Business account with 3 TB per user is not the same product proposition as Google Business Starter with 30 GB pooled per user.
Google says its standard Business Starter, Business Standard and Business Plus plans have a 300-user maximum. Infomaniak states a maximum of 300 users for the offers on the reviewed page. Enterprise arrangements can have different terms, so obtain a written limit and support description if you are near that boundary or expect rapid growth.

How the storage models affect a real team
Infomaniak publishes a kDrive quantity for each licensed user. A ten-person team on Standard therefore has 500 GB of stated kDrive capacity, while ten Business users have 30 TB and ten Enterprise users have 60 TB. Those are arithmetic totals from the published per-user allowances; verify how the provider handles shared folders, suspended accounts and purchased add-ons before using the totals as a contractual commitment.
Google’s allowance is pooled. Ten Starter users have a 300 GB organization pool, ten Standard users have 20 TB and ten Plus users have 50 TB. One employee can consume more than the nominal per-user amount if the organization’s total remains within its pool. Conversely, a few large video or design archives can affect everyone, so set quotas, alerts and ownership rules as part of deployment.

Do not compare only the largest number in a plan table. Ask four practical questions:
- Will mailboxes, shared files, backups and recordings draw from the same quota?
- Do departing or suspended users release capacity, and how quickly?
- Can administrators assign storage to projects or shared spaces rather than individuals?
- What happens when the pool or per-user allowance is exceeded?
The reviewed pages do not establish one universal answer to all four questions. Put the answers for your edition in the order form or service documentation.
Collaboration, editing and meetings
When Google’s editors are central to the job
Teams that already co-edit Google Docs, Sheets and Slides have more than files to move. They have comments, sharing links, version history, add-ons, scripts, classroom or project conventions and user habits built around those editors. A switch can require file conversion, retraining and integration work even if the underlying documents are exported successfully.

Google’s plan material lists Meet participant limits of 100, 150, 500 and 1,000 across its tiers. It also assigns meeting recording and other Meet features by plan. The matrix should be checked for the exact tier and market because the reviewed information does not establish a single entitlement for every region.

kSuite puts Mail, kDrive, kMeet and kChat under one provider and describes online editing and collaboration in its plan material. The reviewed kSuite Pro information lists Microsoft Office Online integration at Business, so a team that works primarily in Word, Excel and PowerPoint formats should verify that integration before choosing a lower tier. The same material places SSO and SCIM at Enterprise; those identity features should not be assumed to exist on Standard or Business.
Infomaniak’s reviewed pages do not state meeting participant limits equivalent to Google’s matrix. If large all-hands meetings, recording, attendance or webinar-style events are essential, request the current kMeet limit and recording policy in writing rather than inferring parity.
Hosting location, privacy and legal review
Infomaniak states that kSuite data are hosted and processed exclusively in Switzerland and describes Swiss-law and GDPR protections. That is a specific vendor statement about the service’s hosting and processing location, not a guarantee that every connected application, recipient or integration is in Switzerland. Confirm which data categories, support access paths, subprocessors and backups are covered by your contract.
Google’s comparison presents data regions as an Enterprise capability. The reviewed pages do not establish a particular customer’s configured region, which data types are covered in every workflow, or what legal result follows from selecting a region. Ask Google for the contractual and technical scope that applies to your organization and jurisdiction.

Data residency is not the same as end-to-end encryption, immunity from lawful access or automatic regulatory compliance. Your own retention schedule, access controls, transfer assessments and incident procedures still matter. Infomaniak’s CTO René Luria describes the company’s position this way: “Our business model is designed to protect data, not sell it. We develop our own ecosystem so we never have to compromise our values.” That is company positioning, not an independent audit or legal opinion.
Administration, identity and scale
Build an administration checklist before comparing a plan selector. Record the answer and the edition in your procurement notes:
- How many aliases or additional addresses can each user have, and are shared addresses counted as users?
- Can administrators create groups, delegate mailbox access and control external sharing?
- Are SSO and SCIM available at the tier you need? Infomaniak identifies them on Enterprise.
- What retention, eDiscovery and legal-hold tools are included? Google assigns Vault to specific higher tiers.
- Are endpoint controls, audit logs, data-loss controls and regional settings included or optional?
- How are shared drives or shared project spaces administered?
- What support response, export and account-recovery terms apply?
- What user cap applies to your exact plan?
Google’s feature matrix places more advanced security, retention and regional controls on selected higher tiers. Infomaniak’s reviewed material differentiates Standard, Business and Enterprise, including the Enterprise identity features and Custom Brand noted above. Where a capability is not stated on the reviewed plan pages, treat it as not stated until the provider confirms it; do not infer it from another tier or from a consumer product.

Neither provider’s reviewed page supports a blanket promise of a complete, lossless cross-vendor migration. Treat the move as a project with an inventory, pilot and rollback plan.
1. Inventory every data type
List mail, contacts, calendars, files, folder structures, sharing permissions, domains, aliases, groups, chat history, meeting recordings, mobile-device profiles and third-party integrations. Identify owners, retention requirements and the last date each system must remain available.
2. Map the destination
For each source item, document its destination in kSuite or Workspace, the expected format and the permission model. A converted document may not preserve an add-on, script, comment, version history or external link. Decide which items should be archived rather than converted.
3. Run a representative pilot
Choose a small group that includes large mailboxes, shared folders, aliases, calendar delegates and unusual file types. Measure message counts, attachment access, calendar time zones, sharing permissions and search results after import. Do not declare success merely because a transfer tool reports completion.
4. Use the vendor’s current migration tooling
Google lists a Workspace Migrate tool. Its availability and supported source or destination paths must be checked against the current technical documentation. Infomaniak’s FAQ explains retaining access and product data when existing Infomaniak Mail Service or kDrive products are upgraded to kSuite; that is an intra-Infomaniak upgrade, not proof of a seamless Google-to-kSuite transfer.

5. Plan cutover and rollback
Lower DNS time-to-live values where appropriate, schedule a freeze for changes, preserve the source system in read-only or accessible form, and communicate the exact sign-in change. Define a rollback trigger—for example, missing mail, broken permissions or unacceptable calendar discrepancies—and the person authorized to reverse the DNS or routing change.
6. Verify after the switch
Test inbound and outbound mail, SPF/DKIM/DMARC alignment, aliases, mobile clients, shared calendars, external links, search, retention policies and the integrations that send mail automatically. Obtain user sign-off before decommissioning the source. Keep an export and an access plan for the period required by your retention policy.
Which service fits common situations?
Choose Infomaniak kSuite when
- Swiss hosting and processing are a contractual or customer requirement.
- You want unlimited email storage and a published per-user kDrive allowance.
- Your team values one provider for mail, files, meetings and chat.
- Microsoft Office Online compatibility at Business or SSO/SCIM at Enterprise matches your requirements.
- You can validate the current CHF price, promotion end date, taxes and 300-user offer limit.
Choose Google Workspace when
- Your staff already depend on Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, Meet and Chat.
- Google’s pooled storage model suits uneven usage across departments.
- You need the specific Meet, recording, Vault, Gemini or regional controls assigned to your chosen tier.
- Your existing integrations and file formats make a cross-suite migration more expensive than the subscription difference.
- You are comfortable confirming where Enterprise data-region controls apply and documenting that scope.
Pause and compare more closely when
- You are comparing a promotional first-year price with a competitor’s recurring price.
- Your organization is close to 300 users or expects acquisitions.
- Large archives, video recordings or shared project data make storage the dominant cost.
- Regulated information requires a written residency, retention and access review.
- Permission fidelity, chat history or calendar delegation is more important than a simple mailbox transfer.
A practical buying decision
- Write the non-negotiables. Specify data location, mailbox capacity, file capacity, meeting size, identity controls, retention and support response before looking at the price.
- Model three years of recurring cost. Use standard post-promotion prices, your currency-conversion date, tax, user growth and any storage or security add-ons.
- Score workflow disruption. Count the documents, integrations, scripts, shared calendars and user training that a move would affect.
- Request written answers. Ask both providers to confirm limits and features that are not explicit on the public plan page.
- Pilot the riskiest migration path. Test the largest mailbox, most complex shared folder and most important integration before signing off.
- Choose the service whose constraints you can operate. A lower subscription is not a saving if conversion, retraining, storage overruns or compliance remediation consume the difference.
For a Swiss-residency-first buyer, kSuite deserves the first evaluation. For a Google-editor-first organization, Workspace usually minimizes disruption. In either case, base the final choice on the exact regional plan, written controls and a successful pilot—not on a temporary promotion or an assumed feature match.
