The Infinix Hot 20 5G was a strong-value budget phone when it launched in India in late 2022, pairing a Dimensity 810 chip with a 120Hz Full HD+ screen and a 5,000mAh battery. In 2026, it is a legacy model: Indian price listings show configurations out of stock, its update outlook is unclear, and its 18W charging and cameras are dated. Consider one only at a substantial discount, in verified condition, and after checking its exact regional variant.
Price and availability in 2026
In India, the Hot 20 5G launched at a reported price of ₹11,999. As of August 16, 2026, price databases listed the 4GB/64GB version at approximately ₹13,208 and the 6GB/128GB version at approximately ₹15,321, but both were marked out of stock. These are database listing prices, not proof of current retail stock or a dependable street price. Check the 91mobiles listing and Gadgets 360 listing for their latest status.
That makes a used or clearance unit the more plausible purchase. Avoid paying near the price of a newer budget phone for a 2022 device, particularly if it has no meaningful warranty or return option. A historical launch price is not a guide to what a used unit is worth today.
Specifications
These specifications describe the model as sold in India and reported regional configurations. Memory, NFC, camera details and mobile-network bands can differ by market and SKU; verify the exact handset rather than relying on the name alone.

For the manufacturer’s regional specifications, see Infinix India and Infinix global specifications. The “Hot 20 5G NFC” label does not mean every Hot 20 5G has NFC: Infinix India says NFC is available only on the 128GB + 4GB version. Do not confuse it with the Hot 20 or Hot 20 Play, which are different models. Regional Hot 20 5G versions can also differ in memory, network bands and other details.
Display and design
The 6.6-inch Full HD+ LCD is one of the phone’s strongest features. Its 120Hz mode can make scrolling and compatible animations look smoother than on a 60Hz screen; Infinix lists 60Hz, 90Hz, 120Hz and automatic refresh-rate options. It is an LCD, not an AMOLED panel, so buyers should not expect OLED-style deep blacks or contrast. The waterdrop notch is also more dated than the punch-hole designs common on newer phones.
Review coverage describes a basic-looking, relatively heavy phone with plastic construction. The large battery helps explain the bulk, while the side-mounted fingerprint reader offers straightforward access without an in-display sensor. These are budget-oriented trade-offs rather than signs of a premium build. See the Gadgets 360 review for its hands-on assessment.

Performance and gaming
The Dimensity 810 was a capable chip for an inexpensive 5G phone at launch, but the chip alone does not guarantee consistently smooth use. Gadgets 360 reported lag, stuttering and inconsistent app switching in everyday use. Its review found lighter games such as Subway Surfers 2 ran smoothly; Asphalt 9 stuttered, and Call of Duty: Mobile was more comfortable around medium graphics and frame-rate settings.
In that Gadgets 360 review, the phone scored 312,324 in AnTuTu, 587 in Geekbench single-core and 1,681 in Geekbench multi-core. The same review reported 57fps in GFXBench T-Rex, 23fps in Manhattan 3.1 and 12fps in Car Chase. A 91mobiles database entry reports an AnTuTu score of 305,823. These are historical results from different testing sources, not fixed performance guarantees for every unit, firmware or memory configuration.
The 120Hz figure refers to the display refresh rate, not a promise that demanding games run at 120 frames per second. The phone remains suitable for casual games and some moderate play, but it is a poor choice for sustained high-refresh competitive gaming or newer demanding titles at high settings.

Cameras
The headline 50MP rear camera is best treated as a daylight snapshot camera, not evidence of camera-first quality. Historical review coverage found its daylight output average and low-light photography weak. The 8MP selfie camera is adequate for basic social use, but is not a standout feature.
Listings disagree on the secondary rear sensor, including whether it is 0.08MP or 2MP. Gadgets 360’s review coverage indicates that only the main rear camera is meaningfully available for photography, so the extra sensor should not be treated as a useful ultrawide or zoom camera. Some specification listings report rear video recording up to 2K at 30fps. See Gadgets 360’s device specifications for its listing.

The 5,000mAh battery and 6nm chipset are a good combination for endurance. In its review testing, Gadgets 360 recorded roughly 6–7 hours of screen-on time and 15 hours 27 minutes in a video-loop test. Those are results from that review’s usage and test conditions, not a guarantee for an older handset with an unknown battery history.

Infinix advertises up to three days of light use, 125 hours of music playback and up to 11 hours of gaming based on its own testing. Those manufacturer figures are not typical mixed-use promises. The 18W wired charging took about 2.5 hours to recharge fully in Gadgets 360’s test, making it slow by 2026 standards. Infinix also lists 5W reverse charging, which can help with a small accessory in an emergency but is not a substitute for a power bank.
Software and update outlook
The phone launched with Android 12 and XOS 10.6. Gadgets 360 criticized the software experience for lag, bloatware and unclear battery-management controls. At the time of that review, Infinix had not confirmed whether the phone would receive Android 13. The available cited information does not establish a dependable long-term update commitment or a definitive final Android version, so do not buy it on the assumption of a particular upgrade.
If you already own one, check Settings → System → System Update for updates offered to your specific region. Do not install firmware from another country just because the model name matches; confirm the exact model number before any firmware work. Remove or disable unwanted third-party apps where Android permits, and review permissions for preinstalled browsers, app stores, game hubs and utilities. On firmware covered by Gadgets 360’s review, battery information was under Power Marathon → Battery setting → Battery usage; labels may differ on another version.

5G, SIM compatibility and NFC
India-focused material promoted support for 12 5G bands, but that count should not be applied to every regional handset. An imported unit may lack a carrier’s frequencies or local certification. Dual-SIM 5G, carrier aggregation and VoNR features advertised for a regional version also depend on the carrier, network deployment, SIM slot and provisioning. A 5G logo alone does not guarantee access to 5G on a particular network.
Before buying an imported or used unit, match its exact model and region to your carrier’s supported bands and check local certification. If you rely on contactless payments, verify NFC on the actual SKU; do not infer it from the product name.
Pros and cons
- Strengths: A sharp 120Hz Full HD+ display, a capable-for-its-launch-price Dimensity 810, a large battery, USB-C and microSD expansion.
- Trade-offs: Android 12-era software with an uncertain update outlook, review-reported lag and preinstalled software, average cameras, slow 18W charging, an LCD with an older-style notch, and variant-dependent NFC and network support.
Who should consider the Hot 20 5G?
It can make sense if a verified handset is substantially cheaper than a current budget phone and your priorities are ordinary apps, media, battery capacity, expandable storage and compatible 5G. It is a poor fit if you need reliable long-term security updates, strong low-light photography, fast charging, demanding gaming performance or NFC payments without uncertainty. Compare its actual asking price with newer phones available locally rather than relying on comparisons from its 2022 launch period.
Quick Recap
Used-phone inspection checklist
- Confirm the model and region: Open Settings → About phone and match the model number to the seller’s description and your carrier’s bands.
- Check software: Review the Android version and security patch, then confirm that System Update works normally for that unit.
- Inspect the display: Test for dead pixels, discoloration, ghost touches and refresh-rate problems.
- Test USB-C: Confirm charging remains steady without moving the cable, and test data transfer if possible.
- Test SIMs and network: Check both SIM slots and verify carrier compatibility; do not assume imported hardware supports local 5G.
- Check cameras and fingerprint reader: Test autofocus, flash, video recording and unlocking; inspect the camera glass for damage.
- Assess battery behavior: Look for rapid percentage drops, unusual heat or unexpected shutdowns. Do not rely on a displayed battery-health number unless you know the firmware provides a trustworthy measurement.
- Verify NFC separately: Test the feature on the specific unit if contactless payments matter.
- Check storage and accounts: Confirm usable internal storage, test any included microSD card, and have the seller remove Google and device accounts before a factory reset.
