The strongest free-to-play team in Infinity Kingdom is not a universal four- or five-Immortal list. It is one main march built from Immortals you can obtain repeatedly, upgrade consistently, and keep aligned with an elemental Dragon. Start with a coherent, maintainable team for PvE, concentrate your resources there, and only branch into a second march when your first can clear the content you need.
Community guides offer useful examples—Alexander or Attila with Merlin and Zenobia, later Earth choices such as Cleopatra or Gilgamesh, and a Wind/Earth hybrid—but those recommendations are tied to dates, progression stages and acquisition routes. Use them as templates, not as a permanent live tier list.

What F2P team building actually requires
Infinity Kingdom builds combat around Immortals, elemental identities and Dragons. The official strategy hub treats Immortals and elemental team mechanics as core strategy subjects: GTarcade’s strategy page. Your march therefore has to solve two different problems:

- Sustainability: keep collecting the same Immortals’ copies or fragments so their stars, skills and other upgrades do not stall.
A rare Immortal that you cannot continue improving can be weaker for a free-to-play account than a less fashionable unit that is reliably obtainable. Elemental matching is valuable, but it does not override access, upgrade reliability or the job your march must perform.

The practical answer: build one dependable main march
For most new or budget-conscious accounts, the safest plan is to make one elemental team your long-term project. A 2025 beginner guide recommends this single-element focus for F2P progression; that is community advice rather than an official promise that one element will dominate every server, season or mode: Guide for new player.
Choose the element for which your account can obtain and improve a complete group, not simply the element with the most attractive screenshot or old tier-list ranking. Your first march should be able to handle ordinary PvE before you spend heavily on specialized PvP combinations. A 2024 early-composition guide explicitly frames progression around PvE first and names Gnomes, Gnome Bosses, Well of Time, Mysterium and Spider as relevant activities: Beginner’s guide: Early Team Composition.
How to choose Immortals for a free-to-play account
1. Verify that the route is available to you
Before committing resources, check how each candidate is obtained on your server and at your current stage. The 2024 guide identifies Hippolyta and Yoshitsune as useful unlock targets through in-game channels, while also presenting example teams built around Alexander or Attila, Merlin and Zenobia. Access routes can change with seasons and progression, so treat those names as that guide’s recommendations rather than a guarantee of current availability.

Some of the same guide’s other suggestions are explicitly described as spender options. Do not call a lineup F2P merely because it appears in a guide that also contains free routes. Separate every candidate into one of three practical categories:
- Already owned and repeatable: the safest foundation for your first march.
- Obtainable soon through normal play: a reasonable target if the rest of the team is maintainable.
- Locked behind a paid route or uncertain event: do not build your plan around it.
2. Test upgrade reliability
Ask whether you can keep collecting copies or fragments after the initial unlock. A team that reaches a first milestone and then stops gaining stars or skill levels will lose momentum against a slightly less fashionable team that continues to grow. Record your actual sources and frequency instead of assuming that a unit shown in a community guide will remain equally accessible on every server.
3. Check elemental coherence
Official guidance describes an Elemental Aura when matching-element Immortals and a Dragon are deployed together. The qualitative mechanic is established, but the current numerical bonus table was not verified in the available material, so do not plan around a quoted percentage. 4. Match the march to its job
Do not evaluate a lineup by rarity alone. Compare it on the work it must do:

- Gnome Boss encounters, which may reward a different configuration from ordinary Gnomes.
- Spider content, for which the 2024 guide gives a separate variation.
- Well of Time and Mysterium progression.
- Player-versus-player fights, which are a later specialization rather than the first test of a new account.
Community lineups: what they show and what they do not
The following examples are useful starting points from dated community material. They are not a current, universal ranking and should not be read as proof that every listed Immortal is free on your server.

The Wind/Earth approach comes from a March 2025 forum guide, “Meta Build: F2P Wind/Earth Hybrid going strong”: read the guide. Its value is that it shows a hybrid can be a deliberate account strategy; its limitation is that it is dated and cannot establish a permanent meta for every server.
A step-by-step F2P team-building process
Step 1: Inventory the account before spending
List every Immortal you own, the ones you can currently summon or unlock through normal play, and the ones for which you have a dependable future source. Note current stars, fragments or copies, skill progress and relevant artifacts. This prevents a guide’s aspirational lineup from displacing a team you can actually finish.
Step 2: Select one primary elemental direction
Choose the element that gives you the best combination of available Immortals, repeatable upgrades and a matching Dragon. A single-element plan is the default because it keeps your investments pointed at one march. A hybrid is a conscious exception for an account whose Wind and Earth resources are both unusually strong, not a requirement for every F2P player.

Step 3: Assemble a complete, functional march
Use a lineup that covers the practical needs of your current content rather than collecting isolated high-rarity names. The cited 2024 examples show how an account might start with Alexander or Attila, Merlin and Zenobia, then adapt for Gnome Bosses or Spider. Copy the structure only after confirming that the units and upgrade paths exist for you.

Step 4: Prove the march in PvE
Test the team against routine Gnomes first, then the other available progression activities. If a lineup clears ordinary stages but fails Gnome Bosses or Spider, change the configuration for that encounter instead of immediately abandoning the entire elemental plan. Keep notes on which content blocks progress and which Immortal or artifact change solves it.
Step 5: Concentrate upgrades
Put early growth materials into the main march rather than spreading them across several partially built teams. The 2025 beginner guide’s one-element advice and the 2025 hybrid guide’s emphasis on artifact upgrades both support concentrated investment, even though neither establishes one mandatory resource-by-resource order.
- Secure repeatable copies or fragments. A team you cannot continue improving is not a stable F2P foundation.
- Raise the main march’s core progression. Keep its Immortals’ stars and skills moving together so one unfinished member does not become the bottleneck.
- Upgrade artifacts assigned to that march. The Wind/Earth guide specifically highlights artifact investment; apply that lesson to the artifacts your own main team can use consistently.
- Keep the Dragon aligned with the chosen element. This allows the elemental mechanic to support the march instead of splitting the account’s focus.
- Only then fund a secondary march. Start one when your first team clears the content and resource milestones that matter to your account.
Step 6: Reassess when your server or content changes
Events, seasons and acquisition routes can alter the value of a recommendation. Recheck the current in-game unlock descriptions and elemental information before replacing a mature team. A dated guide can still teach a sound decision process without remaining a definitive tier list.
Which content should your first march cover?

How to compare two possible teams
When two lineups look appealing, score them against the same questions rather than arguing from rarity or a forum ranking:
- Availability: Can you obtain every required Immortal through your current, non-paid route?
- Upgrade reliability: Can you continue collecting copies or fragments for the foreseeable progression stage?
- Elemental synergy: Can the Immortals and Dragon benefit from the same elemental identity?
- Mode fit: Is the team meant for general progression, Gnome Bosses, Spider or PvP?
- Investment horizon: Is this an accessible starter group, or a later-season composition that assumes more developed resources?
If one team wins on four of these five questions, it is usually the better F2P project even when the other team has a higher theoretical ceiling. If the scores are close, choose the group for which your account already has the most stars, fragments and artifacts; reducing time to a functional march is itself a major advantage.

A Wind/Earth hybrid can be reasonable when your account has unusually dependable access to strong units in both elements and enough artifacts to support them. The March 2025 guide presents that route as a working F2P strategy, but it is one dated option, not a universal upgrade path.

Use a hybrid only after answering all three questions:
- Do both elements have Immortals you can continue upgrading?
- Will splitting artifacts and other materials delay completion of your main march?
- Does the hybrid solve a specific content or matchup problem that your single-element team cannot?
If the answer to the second question is yes and the third is no, stay with one element. The short-term flexibility of two elements is not worth a permanently underdeveloped first team.
Common F2P mistakes and corrections
Building from a screenshot instead of your inventory
Problem: A guide lineup contains units, routes or paid options unavailable to you.
Correction: Start with the Immortals you can obtain repeatedly, then substitute only when the replacement preserves elemental and role coverage.
Chasing a universal “best team”
Problem: Server age, season, mode and acquisition changes make a static ranking misleading.

Spreading resources across several marches too early
Problem: Multiple low-investment teams fail to clear the PvE content that supplies further growth.
Correction: Finish a dependable main march first. Add a second march only after the first has reached the milestones that matter to your account.
Assuming elemental bonuses have a fixed, known percentage
Problem: Old posts may quote numbers that no longer match the live game, while the available official material confirms the mechanic but not a current numerical table.

Using one formation for every PvE mode
Problem: Ordinary Gnomes, Gnome Bosses and Spider can require different configurations.
Correction: Keep a stable core but maintain mode-specific variations where your testing shows a real need.
What the available guides can—and cannot—prove
The official material establishes that Immortals, Dragons and elemental bonuses are central systems. The community guides provide dated examples of early PvE teams, one-element progression and a Wind/Earth artifact-focused alternative. They do not establish a single best F2P lineup for every player, a current universal tier list or exact elemental bonus percentages.

A simple decision rule for your next upgrade
Before spending on an Immortal, artifact or second march, ask: Will this make my main, obtainable team stronger in the next piece of content I need to clear? If yes, make that upgrade first. If no, save the resource until the answer becomes clear. This rule keeps elemental synergy, practical access and focused investment working together—the three constraints that matter most to a F2P account.
