For a value-focused buyer, the Infiniti QX60 is the better buy in this specific comparison: Tom’s Guide’s tested 2027 QX60 Autograph AWD cost $73,750 as tested, $10,725 less than its 2026 Genesis GV80 3.5T Prestige AWD, while the article reported better fuel economy and more usable cargo space. The GV80 is the stronger choice if a more premium-feeling cabin and stronger, smoother V6 matter more than the price gap. These conclusions reflect the author’s comparison, published August 20, 2026—not an independent test here.
Which SUV is the better buy?
The QX60 wins on value for the buyer described in Tom’s Guide’s comparison: someone who wants a three-row luxury SUV with useful everyday space and is unwilling to pay a substantial premium for extra refinement. The tested Infiniti was $10,725 less than the tested Genesis, and the article also favored it for reported fuel economy and usable cargo room.

The GV80 makes more sense if the priority is a more upscale cabin and the performance and refinement of its twin-turbo V6. This is a choice between the QX60’s stronger value case and the GV80’s more premium experience—not a universal verdict for every driver.

Where the QX60 makes its case
Lower price and better reported economy
In the tested comparison, the QX60’s lower as-tested price came alongside higher reported fuel-economy figures than the GV80’s. Those numbers apply to the specific 2027 Autograph AWD and 2026 3.5T Prestige AWD tested; they should not be treated as ratings for every QX60 or GV80 configuration.
For a separate manufacturer reference point, INFINITI’s 2026 QX60 model page lists 268 hp, 286 lb-ft of torque, seating for seven, 75.4 cu. ft. of cargo volume and a 6,000 lb towing capacity. Those are manufacturer-published 2026 model-page figures, not a complete specification sheet for the 2027 test vehicle. Check trim equipment and the owner’s manual for configuration-specific details, particularly before towing.

Useful cargo space for family gear
Tom’s Guide describes the QX60 as having the larger, more usable trunk in its comparison, making cargo capacity a meaningful reason to choose it for luggage or family gear. The comparison does not establish matched cargo measurements for both tested configurations, so it does not support a precise side-by-side volume claim. If cargo is central to your decision, compare the space with the third row in use and assess whether your usual bags fit.

Why the GV80 may be worth the premium
A more premium cabin and quieter ride
The Tom’s Guide author characterized the GV80 as the more lavish cabin and reported a quieter ride and massaging front seats. These are the author’s impressions of the tested vehicle, rather than measurements established by the manufacturer figures listed here. If comfort and cabin feel are your highest priorities, they may justify considering the Genesis despite the price difference.

More power from its V6
The tested GV80’s 3.5 L twin-turbo V6 makes 375 hp, compared with 268 hp for the tested QX60’s 2.0 L variable-compression turbo. Tom’s Guide described the Genesis’s V6 as stronger and smoother. That distinction favors the GV80 for shoppers who put acceleration and powertrain refinement ahead of fuel economy or the QX60’s lower tested price.
Genesis’s 2026 GV80 model page provides a separate reference point, but its published starting MSRP of $57,700, 300 hp and 20/26 mpg city/highway apply to the 2026 2.5T RWD—not the 3.5T Prestige AWD in the comparison. The page also describes an available power-folding third row for seating up to seven. Do not use those 2.5T RWD price or economy figures as a proxy for the tested 3.5T AWD.

How to choose between them
- Choose the QX60 if the lower tested price, the comparison’s better reported fuel economy and its reported cargo advantage best match your daily needs.
- Choose the GV80 if its more premium-feeling cabin, quieter ride and stronger V6 matter enough to outweigh the tested price gap.
- Compare the exact configurations before buying: the comparison uses a 2027 QX60 Autograph AWD and a 2026 GV80 3.5T Prestige AWD. Manufacturer pages for other model years or trims are useful context, not substitutes for those vehicles’ specifications.
Before deciding, check current prices and equipment for the exact vehicles available to you, then assess third-row access and cargo space in person with the seats arranged as you would use them. The comparison supports a value verdict, but it does not provide matched cargo measurements or a complete feature-by-feature list of driver-assistance equipment for the two tested trims.
