Xbox says the collection became available worldwide on October 1, 2026, but IKEA cautions that availability varies by market. It is furniture and storage—not a new Xbox console or game.
What is the IKEA Xbox collection called?
The collaboration is called YXSTABY. IKEA and Xbox describe it as a collection built around the idea that gaming takes place in shared, everyday rooms, not only in dedicated gaming spaces. The designs aim to support play and then store, move or blend in with equipment and furnishings when a room is used for something else.

IKEA says one designer from each company worked on every piece. Its global announcement also frames the partnership as combining Xbox’s experience with play and IKEA’s knowledge of life at home; these are the companies’ descriptions of their own design approach, not independent assessments of the products.
What is in the YXSTABY collection?
The nine-piece range covers seating, screen setups, storage and decorative accessories. IKEA and Xbox identify these items and features:
#1 Best Overall
- MODERNIZED DESIGN — Experience the modernized design of the XBOX Wireless Controller with sculpted surfaces and updated geometry that enhances comfort and control during long gaming sessions.
- PRECISION PERFORMANCE — Stay on target with a hybrid D-pad and textured grips on triggers, bumpers, and back case for improved accuracy and handling.
- SHARE BUTTON: Seamlessly capture and share content such as screenshots, recordings, and more with the new Share button.
- VERSATILE CONNECTIVITY — Connect via USB-C for plug-and-play on console and PC, or quickly pair and switch between supported devices with XBOX Wireless and Bluetooth support.
- BUILT-IN AUDIO SUPPORT — Plug in compatible headsets using the 3.5mm audio jack for direct voice chat and immersive in-game sound.
- Gaming lounge chair: A living-room-oriented seat intended to feel less like a conventional gaming chair. In an official Xbox podcast, designer Ryan Whitaker said the goal was a chair that would fit into a home while addressing the needs of gaming and getting comfortable. That is a design intention, not an independent comfort test.
- Thumbstick-inspired stool: Developed with Xbox designers using original controller 3D files, according to the companies. IKEA says its grip texture and seating curve make the controller-inspired shape usable as a seat. Designer David Wahl said it “moves the way a thumbstick does,” tilting with the user.
- D-pad cushion and decorative platter: Both take their visual cue from the directional pad on an Xbox controller.
- Mirrored controller display box: Designed to show a controller from multiple sides.
- TV stand on castors: A mobile stand with storage at the rear, according to IKEA’s product description.
- Rolling side table: Includes sliding-door storage and space for charging.
- Monitor stand: Raises one or two screens and includes storage and holders for a phone, headphones and controller.
- Toolbox/laptop support: Keeps controllers, cables and other hardware together; its lid can also function as a laptop stand.
The companies’ descriptions emphasize practical features such as mobility, storage and device organization. They do not establish how the products compare with other furniture for comfort, stability, durability or value.
Why do the designs look like Xbox controllers?
The controller is the collection’s central design reference. The D-pad informs the cushion and platter, while the stool draws on the thumbstick and was developed from controller 3D files with Xbox designers. IKEA says the mirrored display box is meant to show a controller from several sides. These details make the gaming connection visible without making every item a screen or electronic accessory.

Where can you buy IKEA Xbox YXSTABY products?
Start with the IKEA website or stores serving your market, and check the individual product pages for current listings, prices and stock. The official launch announcements do not provide a universal price list or live country-by-country inventory. A worldwide launch date should not be taken to mean identical selection or online availability everywhere.
