IKEA’s nine-piece YXSTABY collection, co-designed with Xbox, brings gaming seating, rolling furniture, screen support, storage and controller-inspired accessories into the home. Xbox Wire says it became available worldwide on October 1, 2026, but selection and stock vary by market, so check your local IKEA listing before planning a purchase.
What is the IKEA and Xbox YXSTABY collection?
YXSTABY is a nine-piece, gaming-inspired furniture and accessories collection developed by IKEA and Xbox. IKEA says one designer from each team worked together on every piece. The companies introduced the collection on August 26, 2026, and Xbox Wire announced its worldwide availability beginning October 1, 2026.

The idea is to make gaming furniture feel at home in shared living spaces and help players put away gear when a session ends. That is the companies’ design intent, not independent evidence about comfort, durability or performance. IKEA describes gaming as part of everyday life for more than 3 billion people; that number is IKEA’s claim, and its announcement does not provide a methodology.
What does each YXSTABY item do?
Seating and comfort accessories
- Gaming lounge chair: A dedicated seat for gaming.
- Gaming thumbstick stool: A stool whose form draws on the Xbox Wireless Controller’s thumbstick. Xbox device designers supplied the original 3D design files, and IKEA says the stool’s grip texture is intended to help keep a sitter in place.
- Gaming D-pad cushion: A cushion shaped around the controller’s directional pad.
Mobile furniture and screen support
- Gaming TV stand on casters: Rolls to where play is happening and includes gear storage at the back.
- Gaming side table on casters: Rolls beside the player and has charging space behind sliding doors.
- Gaming monitor stand: Raises one or two screens and includes storage and holders for a phone, headphones and controller.
Storage and display
- Gaming laptop support with storage: The YXSTABY toolbox keeps controllers, cables and hardware together. Its lid closes and doubles as a laptop stand.
- Gaming controller display box: A mirrored box for showing a controller and collectibles.
Controller-inspired accessories
- Gaming D-pad controller platter: A stainless-steel platter that takes its shape from the controller’s directional pad.
Xbox design lead Carl Ledbetter described the collection’s approach as translating controller elements into functional furniture that still feels at home in everyday living spaces. The product descriptions explain intended uses; they do not establish how well any item performs in a particular room or setup.

Which pieces might suit a shared living room?
If gaming gear needs to move or be put away, the rolling TV stand and side table are the collection’s mobile options. The TV stand is intended to move with the play area; the side table can sit beside a player and conceals its charging space behind sliding doors. For smaller devices and accessories, the laptop support’s storage and closing lid offer a way to gather hardware between sessions.

The monitor stand and controller display box take different approaches to keeping gear organized: one combines screen elevation with holders and storage, while the other puts a controller or collectibles on display. The chair, stool and controller-shaped accessories are more visibly gaming-oriented. Which pieces fit a room depends on its layout and the products’ locally listed dimensions, which should be checked before buying.

Where can you check availability?
Xbox Wire says YXSTABY availability began worldwide on October 1, 2026, while noting that availability varies by market. Start with IKEA’s local collection or product pages to confirm that a specific item is listed, in stock and available for delivery or pickup in your area. A global launch does not mean every item is available in every country at the same time.
Official launch descriptions establish what IKEA and Xbox say the products are designed to do. They do not provide independent testing or long-term owner evidence, so consider the listed dimensions, materials, room fit and return terms in your market rather than treating design claims as proof of comfort or durability.
