IKEA listings include both firm and medium-firm versions; the available firmness, sizes, and product codes depend on the local catalog. Is VESTMARKA good for couples?
Motion transfer is the clearest trade-off for a shared bed. IKEA notes that Bonnell springs can transmit movement and says the design is especially suitable for people sleeping alone. That is manufacturer guidance, not a promise that every partner will feel every movement—or that movement will never be felt. Couples who are sensitive to a partner shifting may want to consider this limitation carefully.

Setup, bed-base compatibility, and care
Before using it
- Use a mattress base or a non-adjustable slatted bed base, as IKEA specifies.
- Allow the roll-packed mattress to be unpacked and set up according to the instructions on the local product page.
- Check that the mattress dimensions match your bed frame; size availability varies by market.
Cleaning and protection
- Do not wash the mattress.
- Vacuum it for routine cleaning; IKEA says upholstery shampoo may also be used.
- IKEA recommends a mattress protector to help keep the mattress clean. A protector is an optional accessory, not part of the mattress specification.
