IKEA’s PAPEGOJBUSKE is a compact ergonomic foam pillow that the company describes for side and back sleepers. Its shape has two different heights: IKEA directs side sleepers to the higher part and back sleepers to the lower part. The available evidence supports a specification-based review, not a verdict from sleep testing: there is no supplied hands-on or independent assessment of its comfort, durability, or effect on sleep.
What the PAPEGOJBUSKE is
IKEA’s Indonesia and Taiwan listings identify PAPEGOJBUSKE as an ergonomic pillow. The Indonesia listing assigns it article number 305.528.44 and describes a foam-filled shape intended to support the head, neck and shoulders. That support description is IKEA’s product claim, not an independently verified result. IKEA’s own phrase for it is “An ergonomic, foam-filled pillow, shaped for a healthy sleep.”

How its shape is meant to work
IKEA’s Indonesia instructions give a simple positioning guide: use the higher side when sleeping on your side and the lower side when sleeping on your back. If you change positions, IKEA says to turn the pillow around and choose the side that suits you. This makes the intended adjustment a matter of orientation rather than changing or adding fill.
Those directions explain the design intent, but they cannot establish whether either height will suit a particular person. The listings do not provide independent measurements of loft, firmness, alignment, or comfort, so treat the positioning advice as the manufacturer’s guidance rather than a personalized fit guarantee.
Care and ownership notes
The cover is removable and machine washable. IKEA Indonesia specifies a maximum wash temperature of 40°C and low-temperature tumble drying up to 60°C. IKEA says not to wash the foam pillow itself. Check the care label that comes with the exact regional item, since instructions may vary or change.

IKEA Indonesia also says the foam will yellow when exposed to oxygen and describes the change as natural and inevitable. That note is specific to the Indonesia listing; it is a color change, not evidence by itself of performance or hygiene.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Does it fit a standard pillowcase?
The pillow measures 33 × 45 cm, and IKEA Indonesia names its ROSENSKÄRM ergonomic pillowcase as a fit. The listing does not establish that every standard pillowcase will fit its shaped profile comfortably. Confirm the case dimensions and availability in your market before buying; compatibility with a named case does not mean the pillow is interchangeable with other ergonomic models.
What this review can—and cannot—conclude
The available evidence is IKEA’s product specifications and care guidance, not hands-on testing or independent comparison. It does not establish how the pillow feels after a night’s use, how well it holds its shape over time, or whether it improves sleep. A community post asks whether to choose “Papegojbuske or Rosenskarm,” but one person’s question is not evidence of comparative performance.
Before comparing it with another pillow, check the intended sleep positions, the height and shape, dimensions and case fit, fill and density if listed, cover-care requirements, and local price, stock, and return terms. The manufacturer’s pages support the specifications above; they do not supply the local purchase details needed to recommend it on value.
