Which MORGEDAL versions did IKEA document?
The model name covers more than one configuration in the cited guides. The US guide lists firm and medium-firm foam mattresses. The UK guide lists those firmness choices as well as a medium-firm memory-foam MORGEDAL. Do not assume that memory foam is part of every MORGEDAL, or that firmness labels mean the same feel across different constructions.

Five comfort zones
IKEA lists five comfort zones and says they are intended to support the shoulders and hips. That is a stated design purpose, not evidence that the mattress relieves pain or suits a particular sleeper.

Separate memory-foam variant
The UK guide lists a medium-firm MORGEDAL memory-foam mattress separately, describing memory foam that moulds to body contours and relieves pressure. Keep this variant distinct from the high-resilience foam models; the guide does not establish that all regional MORGEDAL mattresses share its memory-foam construction.

What should you verify before buying a used or listed MORGEDAL?
- Confirm the market and exact product identity. Ask for the product label or article number, not only a listing title or a seller’s recollection. IKEA’s US and UK guides list different regional sizes and article numbers.
- Check the construction and firmness. Verify whether the item is foam or memory foam and whether its label says firm or medium-firm. Do not infer these details from the MORGEDAL name or appearance.
- Measure the mattress. Compare its actual dimensions with the size used in your market. The guides identify regional size ranges, so a familiar size name alone may not establish a precise fit.
- Ask for the applicable care and warranty information. Both guides describe washable covers and 10-year coverage, but care directions and warranty terms depend on the exact market and edition. The guide summaries are not a substitute for the relevant product label and warranty document.
- Assess the actual item and listing. The cited guides do not establish condition, present-day price, stock, or whether a marketplace listing is genuine or the same revision. Make those checks separately before paying.
How do care and warranty claims vary by region?
