IFTTT Free suits a couple of simple automations, while Pro adds room for more workflows, multiple actions, faster speeds, and selected paid service features. Pro+ is the tier for unlimited Applets and advanced tools such as queries and filter code. The right choice depends not just on the plan name, but on the exact triggers and actions your services make available.
IFTTT Free vs Pro vs Pro+: the key differences
IFTTT describes an Applet as a connection between apps or devices. Its plan page showed the following prices and limits when accessed on October 7, 2026; prices and features can change, so check the current IFTTT plan page before subscribing.

| Plan | Price shown October 7, 2026 | Applet quota | What it adds |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 2 | Standard speeds, unlimited Applet runs, simple one-trigger/one-action Applets, and mobile app access. |
| Pro | $2.99 monthly or $35.88 billed annually | 20 | Faster Applet speeds, multiple actions, Webhooks and X/Twitter Applets, increased rate limits, selected exclusive triggers/actions, and customer support. |
| Pro+ | $8.99 monthly or $107.88 billed annually | Unlimited | Everything in Pro, plus queries, filter code, multiple accounts per service, AI Services, and priority support. |
The displayed annual totals equal 12 times the displayed monthly prices. IFTTT’s plan page advertised a 40% yearly-billing saving at the time of access; verify the offer and total at checkout rather than assuming the discount applies to every account or billing situation. The IFTTT plan overview also describes a seven-day free trial for eligible users who have not previously had one.

What Free includes—and where its limit applies
Free allows two Applets, each generally built around one trigger and one action. That quota is the number of Applets you can have, not a limit of two executions: IFTTT lists unlimited Applet runs on Free. However, a connected service can still impose its own usage limits.
#1 Best Overall
- Echo Hub — An easy-to-use smart home control panel redesigned for your home. Arrange controls on your dashboard to quickly adjust devices, view cameras, start routines, and more.
- Customize your dashboard — Arrange devices into sections and resize them to focus on what matters most. Create a personalized layout that matches how your family uses their connected devices.
- Reimagined for your home - With an Alexa+ and compatible Ring subscription (sold separately), get Ring camera event summaries to stay in the know. Search your Ring footage using simple voice commands. Create routines by voice, activate modes to manage multiple devices at once, and chat with Alexa to easily control your smart home.
- Home security for the whole family — Use Echo Hub to easily arm and disarm your compatible security system, making it easy for everyone in your family to manage home security. Use the Alexa app and compatible cameras, locks, alarms, and sensors to check in while you're out.
- Works with thousands of Alexa compatible devices — WiFi, Bluetooth, Zigbee, Matter, Sidewalk, and Thread devices sync seamlessly with the built-in smart home hub.
Free is a reasonable fit when two straightforward automations cover the need and every required service component is available without a paid-plan badge. IFTTT says delays are available across plans, so a delay by itself does not necessarily require upgrading.
What Pro changes
Pro raises the quota to 20 Applets and is the middle tier for workflows that need more than a basic trigger-action pair. Its most practical upgrades are multiple actions from one trigger, faster Applet speeds, and access to features marked Pro on certain services. It also lists Webhooks and X/Twitter Applets, increased rate limits, and customer support.

Pro is the likely tier to investigate if you need one event to cause several tasks, or if a required trigger or action carries a Pro badge. It does not include Pro+-only tools such as queries and filter code.

In IFTTT’s documented sequence, an Applet runs its trigger, queries, filter code, delay, and then actions. See How do I create Applets? for the platform’s explanation of these components.
How to tell which plan a specific Applet needs
A plan tier is not always determined by the service name alone. An individual service may offer some triggers or actions for Free users and reserve other components for paid plans. An Applet’s requirements can also depend on whether it uses multiple actions, queries, or filter code.

- Open the Applet card, service page, or Applet Composer for the workflow you want.
- Check the badge on each required trigger, query, and action. IFTTT explains the badges in How to tell if a service requires a Pro or Pro+ plan.
- Confirm that your intended workflow structure is supported: Free Applets use one trigger and one action, Pro supports multiple actions, and queries or filter code require Pro+.
- Check the relevant service’s usage limits as well as the plan quota before relying on frequent or time-sensitive runs.
IFTTT’s article What is a Pro/Pro+ Applet? explains how requirements can come from the components used in an Applet, not simply from the service it connects.

“Unlimited runs” does not mean unlimited service usage
Free’s unlimited Applet runs refer to IFTTT’s plan feature; they do not override limits applied to particular services. IFTTT’s rate-limit article, updated March 11, 2026, gives examples including 200 AI-service queries per day on Pro+, 240 Webhooks requests per minute on Pro and Pro+, and paid-tier SMS allowances of 100 messages per month in the US and Canada or 10 per month worldwide. These are service-specific examples, not universal quotas for every plan or Applet. IFTTT says daily limits reset at midnight in the account’s local time and monthly limits on the first day of the month at midnight local time. See IFTTT Service Rate Limits for current exceptions and details.
Which IFTTT plan should you choose?
- Choose Free if two simple, one-trigger/one-action Applets are enough and their required service components are available without a paid badge.
- Choose Pro if you need multiple actions, faster speeds, or a Pro-only component, and can stay within 20 Applets.
- Choose Pro+ if you need more than 20 Applets, queries, filter code, multiple accounts for a service, or AI Services.
Before paying, map the exact workflow and check its component badges and service limits. Plan descriptions cannot tell you whether a particular integration’s specific trigger or action is included; the Applet Composer and service page can.
Trials, plan changes, and cancellation
IFTTT’s help page says eligible users who have not already had a trial receive a seven-day free trial when signing up for Pro or Pro+. It also says plan changes or cancellations leave paid features available through the end of the active billing cycle. Trial eligibility and account-specific checkout terms can vary, so confirm them in your account before relying on a trial or timing a cancellation. Details are in IFTTT Plans at a glance.
