If Your TV Is Loud but Hard to Hear: 5 Soundbars to Check Under ₹15,000

A TV can be loud and still make dialogue hard to follow: overall volume does not guarantee that voices stand out from music and effects. A dedicated Voice or Voice Enhance mode is more directly relevant to speech audibility than a high wattage figure or a subwoofer alone. HT Tech’s October 3, 2026 guide names five soundbars in the under-₹15,000 category, but its accessible text does not give itemized prices. Treat these as models to compare, not independently tested or price-verified winners, and check current local price and stock before buying.

Why louder TV sound may not make dialogue clearer

Volume raises the overall sound level; intelligibility is about how easily you can make out speech against other audio. A soundbar’s advertised wattage does not establish how clearly it reproduces dialogue. Nor does adding a subwoofer, which primarily adds low-frequency weight and fullness, prove that voices will be easier to hear.

Look first for an explicit voice or dialogue setting, then consider channel layout, connections and whether the sound profile suits your room and listening preferences. A mode name is not a guarantee of performance, but it is a more relevant feature to compare than wattage alone.

Five models named in the guide

The following specifications and feature descriptions are those listed by HT Tech; they are not results of independent listening tests. The guide groups these products under ₹15,000 but does not show an individual price for each model, so verify the exact model and current seller listing before purchase.

Sony HT-S100F 2.0 channels; 120W; no dedicated wireless subwoofer listed Voice mode. HDMI ARC, optical and USB; compact construction.
Samsung HW-B45EF/XL 2.1 channels; wireless subwoofer; 300W; no center speaker, according to Samsung’s specifications. Samsung lists Voice Enhance, Adaptive Sound and Night Mode on its official India product page. See the official product page for model specifications. The page currently displays “Not for sale.”

Wattage figures above are product specifications reported by the guide, not a standardized comparison of dialogue clarity or sound quality. HT Tech also reports buyer feedback cautioning that the Philips model’s bass can overpower other frequencies; that is reported feedback, not controlled testing.

How to choose for dialogue and your TV

Prioritize speech features, not headline power

Among these five descriptions, JBL and Sony explicitly list a Voice mode, while Samsung lists Voice Enhance. The guide does not establish a dedicated voice-enhancement mode for the boAt or Philips models. Samsung describes Voice Enhance as boosting vocal audio and optimizing EQ; that is the manufacturer’s description, not an independent listening result.

Samsung Support explains that its Voice Enhance feature is intended for cases where dialogue sounds quieter than music or effects. Its instructions apply to supported Samsung soundbars, not every brand or model: Samsung says the feature is supported on 2022-and-later soundbar models and can be enabled using the remote or SmartThings app. See Samsung’s Voice Enhance guidance for the applicable controls.

Choose 2.0 or 2.1 according to the sound you want

The Sony is the only 2.0 model in this group and has no dedicated wireless subwoofer listed. The other four are 2.1 systems with a subwoofer: wired on the Philips, wireless on the boAt, JBL and Samsung. A subwoofer may suit listeners who want more bass, but it should not be treated as a dialogue-clarity feature by itself.

Check the TV connection before ordering

ARC or eARC can return TV audio to a soundbar over HDMI, but your TV needs a matching ARC/eARC port for that connection. The models listed here advertise ARC or eARC rather than identical HDMI support; the JBL is listed with eARC, while the boAt, Philips, Sony and Samsung are listed with ARC. If your TV lacks a suitable port, compare the soundbar’s optical or other listed inputs with the outputs on your TV. Confirm compatibility in both products’ specifications rather than assuming that any HDMI port supports audio return.

Match the system to the room and bass preference

HT Tech’s general guidance is to consider compact soundbars for smaller rooms and higher-output or subwoofer-equipped systems for larger rooms. It is not a measured room-sizing rule. Think about how much bass you want, where a separate subwoofer can go, and whether a simpler bar better suits your space.

Price and availability need a fresh check

HT Tech’s October 3, 2026 article places all five in an under-₹15,000 buying guide, but its accessible text does not provide individual prices. Samsung India’s HW-B45EF page currently says “Not for sale,” so availability for that model is especially uncertain. Samsung Newsroom’s 2025 announcement that its soundbar lineup started at ₹14,990 was a historical launch-price statement for that lineup, not proof of today’s price for any of these five products.

  • Check the current price and stock for the exact model and suffix with the seller.
  • Compare the listing’s included components, especially whether the subwoofer is included and whether it is wired or wireless.
  • Confirm that your TV has the connection you intend to use.
  • Do not infer speech clarity or overall quality from a wattage number alone.

Samsung notes that product specifications and prices may change without prior notice on its HW-B45EF product page.

Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
