Sam Pang says winning his first Gold Logie has not changed him: “I was annoying and unbearable before it, and nothing has changed.” His late-night show, Sam Pang Tonight, is also set to return for a third season, with Ten’s schedule reported as Monday, October 19, 2026, at 8.40pm.

What Pang said about winning the Gold Logie

In an interview published by Clare Rigden in The West Australian on October 3, 2026, Pang described the Logies ceremony as a fun night and a wonderful experience. The award was his first Gold Logie, and his response to the attention was characteristically self-deprecating: “I was annoying and unbearable before it, and nothing has changed.”

He said he wanted his acceptance speech to recognize people across Australian television, both in front of the camera and behind the scenes. Pang also framed the Logies as a celebration of the industry. Winning mattered, but it did not interrupt the routine: he expected to be back working on The Front Bar and Have You Been Paying Attention? within days.

When does Sam Pang Tonight return?

The interview reported that Sam Pang Tonight would return on Ten on Monday, October 19, 2026, at 8.40pm. That is the schedule as reported on October 3; broadcast listings can change, so check Ten’s current listings if you are planning to watch.

The program is returning for a third season. Pang said the first season consisted of eight episodes at the start of the previous year, followed by a second season later that year. He could not make the show earlier in 2026 because he was filming Ground Up; Ten agreed to schedule the new episodes after Have You Been Paying Attention? finished.

What to expect from the new season

A weekly late-night hour, with filming plans still open

Pang described the aim as putting together an entertaining, funny hour of television each week. The first two seasons were filmed live, but the team was still considering whether to record the new episodes earlier, possibly earlier in the day. He had not described a final filming schedule when he spoke to Rigden.

Returning segments and rotating announcers

Monday Monologues and Wheel Of Segments were among the regular features expected to return. Guest announcers were also expected to rotate. Pang named Kitty Flanagan, Anne Edmonds, Lawrence Mooney, Tim McDonald and Guy Montgomery as possibilities, while noting that the roster was still being worked out and would depend in part on who was in town.

Big-name guests are not the only plan

Pang recalled having Rosie O’Donnell on the show, followed the next week by Russell Crowe and Rachel Griffiths. He described those appearances as surreal and hoped that guests’ good experiences would encourage others to visit. The show was also set to retain four other segments so it could sustain its format whether or not a major guest was available.

A busy year across Australian television

Pang’s recent work included hosting Seven’s weekly AFL chat show The Front Bar, appearing as a regular panellist on Ten’s Have You Been Paying Attention?, and starring in Ground Up, which the interview described as his first scripted comedy series for ABC. He called the year a good one and said he was fortunate to have variety in his work.

He said Sam Pang Tonight, Have You Been Paying Attention? and The Front Bar let him work with talented people and make jokes about the week’s events. That, rather than a dramatic change in his life after the award, was the through-line in his account of the Gold Logie: a memorable night, followed by more work he enjoys.
