These details come from the i-Vac 14120166 instruction manual. A 250 ml bin is small, so expect to empty it often during larger cleans; the specification by itself does not establish how well the vacuum cleans any surface.
Runtime and charging: verify the documentation for your unit
Two hosted copies of the manual disagree on maximum runtime. Both qualify the figure as low mode with a crevice tool, but one says 45 minutes and the other says 60 minutes. These are manual claims, not independent battery tests, and neither should be treated as a guaranteed runtime for a used vacuum or for motorized-head cleaning.

Check the booklet supplied with the particular vacuum for its runtime and initial-charging instructions. When assessing a second-hand unit, ask the seller to demonstrate a charge and run cycle; the manual figures do not tell you the present condition of an older battery.
How to decide whether a used or old-stock unit suits your needs
Consider it only if its condition, accessories and intended tasks make sense for you. The documentation establishes a detachable handheld and motorized head, but no independent performance evidence in the available sources supports a verdict on pet-hair pickup, deep carpet cleaning, battery durability or reliability.

- Confirm the exact model: check that the rating label identifies 14120166, rather than relying on a listing title or photographs.
- Check condition: inspect the bin, filter, brush roll, head, battery indicator, handle lock and included tools. Ask about battery runtime and whether the unit charges normally.
- Check the charger: the manual lists charger model JOD-S-270050AU and says to use only the provided charger. Confirm the charger is included and matches the unit.
- Check the transaction: confirm the seller has the exact model in stock, clarify what accessories are included, and review return terms before paying.
- Set expectations: its small bin and long documented charging time may be inconvenient for larger cleaning sessions. The specifications do not establish comparative cleaning results.
Discontinued status, warranty and replacement parts
Consumer NZ labels the model “Discontinued model.” Its model listing was last updated 07/03/2014; the wider Consumer NZ vacuum guide was updated July 2025. The listing’s $299 price is historical context from the dated entry, not a current price or evidence that the vacuum is available. The manual states a two-year parts-and-labour warranty for domestic use, starting from original purchase. It says the warranty is non-transferable and valid only in the country of purchase. That statement does not establish that a used or old-stock vacuum remains covered; check the original purchase date and applicable terms with the seller or warranty provider.

The manual limits the cleaner to domestic household pickup of dry dirt and dust from carpets, flooring, walls and fabrics; it is not an industrial cleaner. Do not use it on wet messes. Switch it off before cleaning, maintenance or changing accessories, and charge it only with the supplied charger. The manual says to replace the filter every six months or when visibly dirty.

Cleaner will not switch on
Check that the unit has been charged and that its parts are properly fitted. If it still will not start, stop using it and consult the manual or a qualified service provider rather than attempting electrical repairs.
The cleaner can’t be charged
Confirm that the supplied charger is being used and that it is connected properly. If charging still fails, do not substitute an unverified charger; the manual identifies model JOD-S-270050AU.

Reduced suction
The manual identifies a missing or dusty filter and a full bin as possible causes. Switch off the vacuum, reinstall the filter if absent, empty the bin, and clean or replace the filter as directed in the manual.
Roller brush does not spin
The manual points to a blockage. Switch off the vacuum before removing hair or debris from the brush roll, then check that it turns freely before using the cleaner again.
