The six-slot concept below combines a multitool, compact pliers, flashlight, measuring tool and driver/socket capability; the final dimensions and attachment hardware still need to be measured for the specific build.
What the six-tool phone toolbox is meant to solve
Most everyday repairs need only a few capabilities: tightening or loosening a fastener, gripping a small part, adding light, measuring a gap and cutting or opening something. A phone-mounted organizer keeps those functions together instead of scattering them between a keychain, a pocket and a separate pouch.

The trade-off is that the phone becomes part of your tool system. A case that is secure for ordinary carrying may not tolerate leverage from a driver or the weight of metal tools. Check the case, attachment surface and total thickness before committing to a printed insert or adhesive mount.

Do not fill a slot because it is available. Popular EDC’s seven-day test is a useful filter: carry the proposed setup for a week, remove anything you never use, then check batteries and other consumables monthly.

Three organizer approaches
3D-printed phone-and-tool holder
Morley A. Kert’s “3D Printed EDC Holders” project publishes STL, 3MF and Fusion 360 files for holders covering a phone, pocket flashlight, six-foot tape measure, Leatherman Skeletool, Victorinox Climber, glasses, receipts and a wallet. Its mounting holes are specified for #6 wood screws. That makes it a useful reference for arranging tools around a phone, but it does not establish the dimensions or attachment method of this specific six-tool build.
Mini-ratchet case insert
An Etsy maker’s PETG attachment for the Harbor Freight ICON mini ratchet case is laid out for the six sockets listed above and also retains an Olight I3T 2 EOS flashlight and Knipex Cobra XS pliers. This approach concentrates on a rigid case and known tool shapes. It is easier to reproduce when your tools match those dimensions, but compatibility with a particular phone case is not automatic.

Custom pocket organizer
Urban Knife Guy’s organizer was designed around a 58 mm Victorinox Classic, an Olight IR2, a Gerber Dime keychain multitool and a credit-card-sized tool. The design can be custom-tailored for a pants pocket, pouch or handbag. A phone attachment can borrow that modular idea while keeping the organizer separate from the handset when necessary.

- Measure the phone and case together. Record width, height, corner radius, camera-bump clearance and the flat area available for attachment. Measure with the case installed, not with the bare phone.
- Inventory the actual tools. Measure each tool’s length, widest point, thickness and opening direction. Keep blades closed or fully shielded in the carry position.
- Assign slots by recurring tasks. Start with a multitool, pliers, light, tape, driver and socket/bit storage. Replace a slot only when your seven-day carry test shows a more frequent need.
- Model retention features. Use walls, ribs, elastic or a removable strap so a tool cannot fall out when the phone is inverted. Leave finger clearance for one-handed removal.
- Prototype before final printing. Print a low-infill fit sample or make a cardboard template. Check charging-port access, wireless charging, camera obstruction and pocket snagging.
- Test the attachment progressively. Walk, sit, pocket the phone and remove each tool repeatedly before applying leverage. If the mount flexes, rattles or peels, redesign it rather than relying on stronger force.

Common failure points
- Case mismatch: A replacement case or ruggedized case can invalidate the fit. Treat the case as a component, not an afterthought.
- Overloading: Six nominal slots can become uncomfortable if every tool is metal. Remove low-use items before reducing retention strength.
- Blocked phone functions: A holder that covers the camera, buttons, charging port or wireless-charging coil defeats the phone’s primary purpose.
- Snagging and exposed edges: Round external corners, cover blades and test the organizer against fabric before pocket carry.
- Weak attachment: Adhesive alone may fail on textured, flexible or oily surfaces. A mechanical interface is easier to inspect and replace, but it requires accurate holes and clearance.
How much confidence to place in the “six-in-one” claim
MetMo describes its Pocket Grip as a six-in-one tool combining a locking wrench, clamp, pliers, hex driver, tap and snipper functions. That is a product description, not an independent performance measurement. Likewise, the six-socket capacity cited for the PETG insert is a design specification, not a laboratory durability result. Treat both as capability lists and verify whether the tools suit your actual tasks.

Before carrying it every day
- Confirm every tool is retained when the phone is upside down.
- Check that no blade can open against clothing or the phone.
- Verify charging, camera and biometric access with the organizer installed.
- Carry it for seven days, then remove unused tools.
- Inspect screws, clips, printed layers and elastic monthly; replace batteries and other consumables at the same interval.

Can any phone case accept a six-tool organizer?
No. Fit depends on the exact phone, case shape, camera bump, attachment surface and total load. Measure the assembled phone and case before designing or buying a holder.
Is a 3D-printed organizer cheaper than buying a pouch?
It can reduce the purchase price, but printing adds material, machine time and fit work. A pouch is easier to buy immediately and does not load the phone case.

What is the safest way to carry blades in a phone-mounted kit?
Use a closed or fully sheathed tool, provide positive retention and test for snagging and accidental opening before pocket carry.
