I Built a Free AI Toolkit for LinkedIn, Resumes, and Bios with Next.js and Groq

I built a free AI-assisted writing toolkit for LinkedIn profiles, resumes, and professional bios using Next.js and Groq. Its purpose is to help turn a user’s input into career-writing drafts—not to decide what belongs in a profile or resume. Every generated claim still needs a human fact-check, and anyone entering personal career information should understand how the service handling that information processes it.

What the toolkit is—and what it is not

The project is a free toolkit aimed at three related writing tasks: LinkedIn content, resume material, and professional bios. Next.js and Groq are the named technologies behind it. The available project details do not establish a specific model identifier, deployment provider, feature-by-feature workflow, performance result, or privacy configuration, so those should not be assumed.

That distinction matters: an AI writing tool can help produce or reshape wording, but it cannot verify that a job title, accomplishment, date, skill, or metric is true. Treat its text as a starting draft rather than an authoritative record.

How do I write a LinkedIn bio with AI?

Give the tool accurate source material and a clear purpose, then review the result against your actual experience. Useful input might include your current role, areas of expertise, audience, and the kind of opportunity you want to communicate. Avoid asking the model to invent credentials or achievements to make the bio sound stronger.

  1. Start with facts. Provide only details you can stand behind, such as verified roles, skills, and accomplishments.
  2. State the audience and tone. For example, ask for a concise, approachable summary aimed at prospective clients or hiring managers.
  3. Check every sentence. Remove unsupported claims and correct anything that overstates your experience.
  4. Edit for your voice. Make the final copy sound like you, not a generic profile template.

LinkedIn also documents AI-supported writing features and the processing of information associated with its AI features. Its help pages describe career-related information in this context, including saved resumes and profile suggestions. Can AI help rewrite my resume?

AI can help rephrase material, improve readability, or adapt a draft to a particular role, provided the source information is accurate. It should not be used to manufacture qualifications or quietly change the substance of a work history. Compare any rewrite with the original resume and the job description, and retain only statements you can substantiate.

  • Verify employer names, dates, titles, certifications, and education.
  • Check that metrics and outcomes came from your experience rather than the generated text.
  • Make sure edits preserve the scope of your responsibility; stronger wording should not imply work you did not do.
  • Review tone and relevance for the role before submitting.

Groq’s Acceptable Use & Responsible AI Policy, effective October 15, 2025, warns that model outputs may be inaccurate and says, “Outputs should be evaluated for accuracy and appropriateness.” The policy places responsibility for decisions based on outputs on customers and calls for appropriate human oversight, testing, and safeguards in consequential uses. For a resume or bio, the practical rule is straightforward: verify every factual statement before sharing it. Read Groq’s policy.

How do you build an AI writing tool with Next.js and Groq?

At a high level, a Next.js application can receive a writing request through a server-side Route Handler and use a provider integration to generate text. Next.js 14 documentation describes Route Handlers in route.js or route.ts files within the app directory; it documents methods including POST and support for streaming. That documentation is specifically for Next.js 14 and was last updated February 23, 2024, so check the documentation for the version used by a particular project before relying on version-specific behavior. Next.js 14 Route Handlers.

A Route Handler is still an API endpoint exposed to requests. Next.js’s authentication guidance says to apply the same security considerations to Route Handlers as to public-facing endpoints. For a writing tool, prudent safeguards include validating inputs, limiting abuse, and keeping provider credentials out of client-side code. These are implementation recommendations, not claims about this toolkit’s specific code or configuration. Next.js authentication guidance.

Is it safe to paste my resume into an AI tool?

There is no blanket answer based only on the provider name. Data handling depends on the specific API feature, settings, and service terms in effect. Groq’s data documentation says certain API features require retention to function and describes Data Controls that may let users opt out of storage, subject to service details. Check the current documentation and the application’s own privacy information for the actual endpoint and configuration before submitting sensitive material. GroqCloud data documentation.

Minimize what you share when possible. A draft often does not need a home address, phone number, or other personal identifiers for wording help; remove such details if they are not relevant to the task. Also consider whether an employer’s or client’s information is confidential before pasting it into any external service.

What to verify before publishing or submitting AI-written career text

  • Truth: Every role, date, skill, credential, and outcome matches your records.
  • Scope: The language reflects what you personally did, not what a team or organization achieved collectively.
  • Fit: The content addresses the intended reader and opportunity without copying irrelevant keywords.
  • Privacy: You understand what information the tool receives and the applicable storage controls.
  • Final voice: You have edited the draft so it represents you accurately and naturally.
