The reported workflow involved code, browser automation, ffmpeg, separate audio tools, and repeated human review. LAADHARI’s account is a personal case study, not an independently reproduced test.
What the finished video was—and what “no video editor” meant
LAADHARI describes a 1080 × 1350 cut-paper stop-motion video for LinkedIn, about moving from software engineering toward AI engineering. It included music, sound effects, narration, and a final end card. He says he did not use a conventional video-editing timeline. Instead, he and the assistant assembled the work through a chain of code and media tools.

That distinction matters: avoiding a timeline editor shifted production work elsewhere; it did not remove it. The author supplied the brief and decisions about story and tone, reviewed images and sound, and corrected details. As he put it, “The story is mine to tell.”

1. Clarify the brief before building
The assistant asked questions about the video’s purpose, format, tone, length, and language. That helped define what the video should say before rendering began. LAADHARI’s takeaway was “Clarifying questions are a feature”: a useful point for anyone making a personal-branding video, where the story and audience matter as much as the visual style.

2. Draw repeatable frames with JavaScript
The reported visual pipeline used JavaScript to draw scenes on a canvas. A deterministic draw(frameNumber) function meant a particular frame could be rendered again. Small changes in position and rotation from frame to frame created the intended handmade, stop-motion feel.
3. Render, inspect, and encode
Playwright rendered the frames, and ffmpeg encoded them into an MP4. The author also describes a browser-based player for reviewing scenes and contact sheets for scanning groups of frames and catching visual problems before sharing a draft. This is a software-rendering pipeline, not a claim that an AI video generator produced every finished frame.

4. Build the sound separately, then sync it
In LAADHARI’s account, animation events produced timestamped sound-effect cues, Python generated the music, and ElevenLabs supplied narration through a connector. He then adjusted scene timing to the voiceover and lowered the music beneath speech. The account says the model could not listen to the final result: it could check loudness and cue timing, but LAADHARI had to listen and judge whether the mix worked. His concise description was: “It can’t hear.”

Why it took nine versions
The nine-version count is LAADHARI’s report of this particular project, not a standard amount of work or a forecast for someone else’s video. His version log shows how the brief evolved as the story and production details became clearer.

The iteration included both creative decisions—such as how to explain a career transition—and concrete production fixes, like a glitch, props, layout, and narration timing. The author reports 666 rendered frames and a final runtime of 55 seconds; those figures describe this project alone.
Where the human still had to intervene
The account describes practical limits as well as creative review. LAADHARI says he supplied official logo files, the sandbox could not access Google Fonts or download the final ElevenLabs audio, and his narration account rejected three of four attempted takes. He also says the assistant flagged a mismatch between names in the video and his CV. These are session details reported by the author, not verified statements about how those services behave for every user.

How this differs from prompt-led video tools
LAADHARI’s custom canvas-and-code approach is one way to make a video; it is not a like-for-like comparison with current generative video products. Official product documentation describes different workflows, and features or regional availability can change.

What to take from the case study
The useful lesson is not that one AI prompt replaces an editor. It is that an assistant can participate in a multi-tool production workflow, including coded rendering and iteration, while a person retains responsibility for the narrative, review, and final judgment. If you are considering a similar route, the relevant choice is less “AI or video editor?” than how much control you want over frames and timing, and whether you are prepared to handle the rendering, sound, troubleshooting, and review that control entails.
