Keep at least the listed free space on the drive where Steam installs the game. Consequently, there is no verified I Am Plague settings recipe to reproduce. 1. Confirm the active GPU
On a laptop or hybrid desktop, Windows can assign a program to integrated or dedicated graphics. Check the GPU shown in Task Manager > Performance while the game is running. If the active adapter lacks the required Vulkan support, selecting a supported adapter in the system’s graphics preferences may be necessary; the exact menu and behavior depend on your Windows version and hardware.
2. Remove competing workload
Close browsers with many tabs, video encoders, virtual machines, and overlays before launching. In Task Manager, sort by CPU, memory, and GPU use to identify an unusually heavy background process. This can free resources, but it cannot compensate for an unsupported graphics API or a game-side performance defect.
3. Check for driver or build changes
Record the driver version and the date of the Steam build when a problem occurs. If an update introduced the issue, read the developer’s announcement or support notes before rolling back anything. A later build may change requirements or add settings, so a result from an early playtest should not be treated as a permanent characteristic of the finished game.

- Steady but low frame output suggests a workload or rendering limitation, but the listing provides no data to identify a threshold.
- Intermittent stutter can involve background tasks, asset loading, storage pressure, or a temporary build issue.
- Missing or corrupted visuals should be reported with the GPU model, driver version, Windows version, and the exact playtest build.
These categories help you report a reproducible issue without claiming that a particular in-game control will solve it.
Release status and planned content
Steam currently describes I Am Plague as a single-player indie incremental game with automatic combat and roguelite elements. The description says players choose mutations, combine their effects, upgrade the horde between runs, and select branching routes. It advertises more than 200 planned dungeon floors and more than 50 planned mutations. Those counts describe intended game content, not the amount of graphics work, memory use, or expected frame rate.
