Their practical value is different, but there is an important limitation: available fan references disagree about the wider roster, roles, and current mechanics. No reliable current source publishes a complete cooldown table. Treat the details below as a careful guide to reported examples, not a definitive encyclopedia or tier list.
What the ability types do
Abilities are easiest to understand by the problem they solve rather than by an unofficial tier label. The reported examples fall into three functional types:
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
- Concealment: temporarily makes the Runner harder to track, without making the Runner invulnerable.
- Displacement or interruption: changes a Chaser’s position or momentum at close range.
- Misdirection: creates a false target or misleading route so the Chaser may commit to the wrong pursuit.
Fan guides also use broader labels such as movement, utility, crowd control, and niche abilities. Those categories are useful as a way to discuss design, but their examples and rankings do not line up consistently between sources. In particular, names such as Radar Pulse, Clone Replicator, and Size Shift appear in one guide but not in the most specifically dated inventory. Do not assume that every ability named in an older or different guide is present in your current game client.

| Ability | Type | Reported effect | Duration or range detail | Important limitation | Reported price |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cloak | Concealment | The Runner disappears from view. | 3 seconds | The Runner can still be hit; using an item ends the cloak. | 1,000 Gems or 999 Robux |
| Emergency Airhorn | Knockback / interruption | An aimed blast pushes a nearby Chaser backward. | Short range; the guide does not publish a measured distance. | It requires the Chaser to be close enough and aligned with the aim. | 1,000 Gems or 1,149 Robux |
| Inflatable Decoy | Misdirection | An inflatable copy runs directly ahead and attracts pursuit until it is caught. | Runs for 7 seconds, then pops when caught. | The source does not quantify how often Chasers follow it or explain whether it inherits any special movement. | 750 Gems or 949 Robux |

Cloak: concealment, not immunity
Cloak’s reported three-second window is long enough to break a line of sight, cross a dangerous opening, or force a Chaser to guess at a turn. It does not protect the Runner from being hit. The two restrictions matter more than the headline effect: a Chaser can still connect an attack, and using an item immediately ends the cloak. Activating it while already exposed in an attack path is therefore risky. It is better understood as a brief tracking reset than as a defensive shield.
Because the reported effect is visual concealment, the surrounding geometry matters. A corner, branch in a route, or obstacle can make three seconds meaningful; an open straightaway may leave too many clues about the Runner’s direction. These are tactical deductions from the stated effect, not a measured success rate.
Emergency Airhorn: a close-range space maker
Emergency Airhorn is described as an aimed, short-range blast that knocks a nearby Chaser backward. Its job is immediate spacing: create enough separation to turn a corner, reach an exit, or avoid an attack that is about to connect. It is not described as a long-range projectile, area-wide stun, or guaranteed escape. If the Chaser is outside the effective range or the aim misses, the ability may not create any space.
Its reported cost is 1,000 Gems or 1,149 Robux. The guide does not provide a laboratory measurement for range, knockback distance, recovery time, or hit reliability, so those details should be checked in the live game rather than inferred from the price.

Inflatable Decoy: a straight-line false target
Inflatable Decoy sends an inflatable copy straight ahead for seven seconds and pops when caught. The straight path is both its strength and its constraint. It can suggest that the Runner continued through a junction, but it is easier to read than a copy that makes independent decisions. The ability may be most useful when the real Runner can immediately take a side route, hide behind cover, or change elevation while the Chaser evaluates the moving decoy.
No source establishes a deception percentage, an automatic aggro rule, or whether experienced Chasers can identify the copy instantly. Treat any claim that it “always works” or “never works” as unsupported. Its reported price is 750 Gems or 949 Robux, subject to change in the live shop.
What does Q do in Huss Valley?
An unofficial controls reference labels the Q key as Ability. That tells you which input is assigned to an equipped power, but it does not identify the power itself. The checked description does not publish the effect, cooldown, or unlock rules for the ability bound to Q.
To find out what Q does in your match, first identify the ability shown in your current loadout or shop, then read that ability’s in-game description. The same key can produce a different result when the equipped ability changes. A player who presses Q expecting Cloak while Emergency Airhorn is equipped is testing the control label, not discovering a universal Q mechanic.
Cooldowns: what is known and what is not
No reviewed source establishes reliable, current per-ability cooldown values. One fan guide discusses cooldowns generally without publishing a verifiable table, while the controls reference does not list cooldown information in the checked game description. Community ranges should therefore not be repeated as official numbers.

This uncertainty changes how you should plan. Do not assume that Cloak, Airhorn, and Decoy share one timer, that all abilities recharge at the same speed, or that a cooldown begins on activation rather than after an effect ends. Those are common design patterns, not confirmed Huss Valley rules.
How to record a cooldown safely
- Equip one ability and note the exact game mode, role, and date.
- Activate it once under ordinary conditions and start a timer at the input.
- Watch for the on-screen indicator or attempt the input at regular intervals after the effect ends.
- Repeat several times, including a test in which the ability misses or is interrupted.
- Record whether the timer changes between a successful hit, a miss, a cancelled action, and a round transition.
A personal timing note can help you play, but it is not a universal balance statistic. A patch, role change, map rule, or shop update can alter the result. Publish or share a number only with its mode, date, and test conditions.
Synergies: practical hypotheses, not confirmed combos
The available material does not verify simultaneous effects, cooldown chaining, or a measured ability combo. You can still reason about possible pairings, provided you label them as strategies to try rather than mechanics-backed guarantees.
Cloak with a route break
A plausible use is to activate Cloak just before a corner, then change direction while concealed. The idea depends on the Chaser losing visual information during the three-second window. It can fail if the Chaser attacks the area, predicts the turn, or the Runner uses an item and ends the cloak. Test whether the game permits the movement you want without forcing an item interaction.
Airhorn at a choke point
A close-range knockback may be more valuable at a doorway, narrow passage, or turn than in open ground because a small displacement can buy access to the next section of the route. This is a positional hypothesis, not proof that the blast has a particular knockback distance. Confirm whether the Chaser must be facing the Runner, whether obstacles block the blast, and whether the ability can be used while the Runner is being hit.

Decoy before a split
Because the reported copy runs straight ahead, deploy it where the obvious route continues and take a side path if the map provides one. The strategy is strongest when the Chaser must choose quickly and cannot see both branches. It is weaker in an open area where the real Runner remains visible, or when the Chaser knows the copy’s fixed behavior. There is no evidence that Decoy automatically transfers pursuit, so observe the opponent’s response rather than assuming it does.
Sequential use
Using one ability to create a condition for another—such as Airhorn to gain distance and then Cloak at cover—sounds sensible, but the reviewed sources do not establish whether the abilities can be chained, whether one cancels the other, or whether their cooldowns permit it. Confirm those interactions in a low-stakes match before treating the sequence as part of a build.
Choosing an ability for the situation
| Situation | Reported effect that fits | Why it may help | Question to verify first |
|---|---|---|---|
| The Chaser is close and blocking a route | Emergency Airhorn | Knockback may create immediate room. | What is the actual range, aim requirement, and recovery time? |
| You need to break visual tracking near cover | Cloak | Three seconds of concealment may hide a turn. | Can the Chaser still hit the area, and which actions cancel the cloak? |
| The route has a visible fork or side path | Inflatable Decoy | A straight-running copy may draw attention forward. | Does the Chaser follow it, and can the real Runner leave sight immediately? |
| You are buying with limited currency | Compare the live shop | The reported costs differ, and prices may have changed. | Is the listed currency and price current for your account and region? |
There is no substantiated basis for calling one of these abilities the “best.” The right choice depends on role eligibility, map geometry, the Chaser’s distance, and whether you value an escape window, forced spacing, or uncertainty in the opponent’s route.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Roster and role uncertainty
The three-ability list is specifically reported as a Runner inventory in the dated guide. Other fan references assign different abilities to Runner and Chaser or describe a broader roster. Since those lists conflict, do not transfer an effect from one role to another without checking the current loadout screen.

Common mistakes and recovery
Confusing concealment with invulnerability
If Cloak fails while the Runner is being hit, that is consistent with the reported limitation. Activate it before entering the danger zone and use cover to make the hidden movement matter.
Using an item during Cloak
The reported effect ends when an item is used. If the cloak disappears unexpectedly, check whether an item input was pressed or triggered automatically. Plan the item interaction before activating the ability.

Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Firing Airhorn from too far away
The ability is described as short range. If nothing happens, move closer in a controlled situation and test the aim rather than assuming the power is broken. Record whether the problem is distance, line of sight, or timing.
Expecting Decoy to steer itself
The reported copy runs straight ahead. If it does not turn with you or react to the map, that is the stated behavior, not necessarily a malfunction. Place it on the route you want the Chaser to consider, then leave that route yourself.
Treating an old list as the current roster
Conflicting fan inventories are the main source of confusion. Recheck the shop and loadout after updates, role changes, or economy changes before relying on a remembered name, cost, or cooldown.
Bottom line for players
The most defensible current explanation is functional: Cloak provides a reported three-second concealment window but does not stop hits and ends when an item is used; Emergency Airhorn is a reported short-range knockback; and Inflatable Decoy sends a straight-running copy for seven seconds until it is caught. Q is the ability input, not a universal effect. Exact cooldowns, a complete roster, and proven synergies remain unverified, so use the live loadout and shop as the authority and treat route combinations as experiments rather than guaranteed mechanics.
