The fire-risk recall applies to the Humane Charge Case Accessory for Ai Pin, not the Ai Pin wearable itself. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) says the case’s lithium battery can overheat and advises owners to stop using the recalled case. Its current notice says no remedy is available; follow local guidance for safe handling and disposal of its battery.
What is the Humane AI Pin fire risk?
The CPSC says the lithium battery in the recalled Charge Case Accessory can overheat, posing a fire hazard. The case is a separate rechargeable lithium-polymer-battery accessory with a USB-C charging port.

In its October 31, 2024 recall announcement, the CPSC reported one case that overheated and melted during charging. It reported no injuries or property damage. That is the incident count in the notice; it does not establish that every other case is safe or provide a failure rate. See the CPSC recall notice, number 25-026.
Which product was recalled?
The recall covers the Charge Case Accessory for Ai Pin—not every Ai Pin, charger, or Humane product. The CPSC says about 10,500 cases were included and that no other Humane product is part of this recall.

How to identify the recalled case
- It is the chrome Charge Case Accessory for Ai Pin, with a gray Humane logo on the back.
- It measures about 2¾ × 1½ × 2¼ inches, according to the CPSC notice.
- The CPSC says it was sold online at humane.com from November 2023 through May 2024.
The notice lists historical prices of $700–$800 for the Ai Pin Complete System and about $150 for the case sold separately. These are sale figures from the recall notice, not current prices.
Is the Ai Pin itself affected?
The CPSC recall is for the Charge Case Accessory only. Humane also said its Ai Pin, Battery Booster(s), and Charge Pad were unaffected, explaining that the vendor associated with the recalled case did not supply their batteries or other components. That is the company’s statement, not an independent test or a guarantee about present-day product availability. Humane’s statement appears on its recall-program page.
Separate from the case recall, Humane’s safety guide says not to use an Ai Pin that is hot to the touch or appears damaged. It advises charging as directed during setup, using an authorized Humane adapter and cable, and not charging the Ai Pin when wet. The guide warns that damaged charging equipment or moisture during charging can create fire, burn, electric-shock, injury, or property-damage hazards. The guide is available in an FCC-hosted equipment filing.

The CPSC’s current notice says the remedy is unavailable and instructs consumers to stop using and discard the recalled case. Because it contains a lithium battery, do not put it in household trash or an ordinary retail used-battery collection box.

The CPSC notice does not offer an alternative repair or replacement remedy. Follow the applicable local hazardous-battery directions rather than improvising a disposal method.
