The report says the offer requires Prime and includes the printer’s supplied ink, which HP estimates can yield up to 6,000 black or color pages. What was the reported Amazon deal?
In a deal report published October 6, 2026, TechRadar listed the HP Smart Tank 5003 at $149.99 on Amazon, compared with a regular price of $189.99, and said Prime membership was required. TechRadar described $149.99 as the printer’s lowest-ever price and said its previous low was $170. Those price-history claims are the outlet’s report, not an independently verified price-history record.

Amazon’s official pages set Prime Big Deal Days 2026 for October 6–7, with 48 hours of deals for Prime members. The event dates are confirmed by Amazon’s announcement and its Prime Day page; they do not confirm the printer’s price or availability.
What does “three years’ free ink” mean?
TechRadar’s report describes three years’ free ink as ink included with the printer and relays an estimate of up to 6,000 black or color pages from that ink. Treat the figure as an estimated yield, not a promise that every household will have ink for three calendar years. Actual duration depends on how much and what you print; the report does not establish a fixed three-year supply independent of usage.

What the Smart Tank 5003 offers
According to TechRadar, the Smart Tank 5003 is a wireless, refillable ink-tank all-in-one for printing, scanning and copying. The deal report lists print speeds of up to 10 pages per minute in black and 5 in color, plus a 100-sheet paper tray. It says the model lacks automatic duplex printing, fax and an automatic document feeder. These specifications are reported by TechRadar and were not independently confirmed against HP documentation here.
Is it a good fit for your printing?
It may suit routine home use
The deal report positions the printer for families, students and remote workers who regularly print a mix of ordinary text, color documents and photos and want refillable tanks rather than cartridges. Its scan and copy functions also cover common home-office tasks.

Consider another option for heavier workloads
At the reported maximum speeds and 100-sheet capacity, users printing large batches may face slower output and more frequent paper refills. The lack of automatic duplexing and an automatic document feeder can also make multi-page jobs less convenient. TechRadar names the Canon MegaTank G3270 and Epson EcoTank ET-4950 as alternatives, but the available information does not establish a controlled, like-for-like comparison of their prices, speeds, paper capacity, included ink or functions.
