The 2026 HP OmniBook Ultra 14 with Snapdragon X2 Plus looks like a conventional Windows laptop on paper, but the experience depends on the apps and accessories you rely on. Common applications are generally available natively or through Windows’ Prism emulation, according to Tom’s Guide; specialized software can still be a compatibility risk. HP’s battery figure is a tightly controlled local-video result, not a promise of all-day mixed-use runtime.
This article covers the X2 Plus configuration, not the higher-spec X2 Elite or Intel versions. The title’s first-person claim should be treated as an actual hands-on verdict only if the named reviewer personally tested this specific laptop; the available evidence does not establish that testing.

Which OmniBook Ultra 14 is the Snapdragon X2 Plus?
“OmniBook Ultra” refers to more than one 2026 configuration. HP’s US store lists the X2 Plus X2P-64-100 with 16GB of onboard memory, a 512GB PCIe Gen5 NVMe SSD, Windows 11 Home, and a 14-inch 1920×1200 OLED touchscreen. HP’s UK store lists a similar 16GB/512GB/2K OLED X2 Plus model under product code D8VZ9EA#ABU. Confirm the processor and full SKU in your market before buying, since the family also includes X2 Elite and Intel variants. HP US product listing; HP UK listing

Specifications and performance from an Elite or Intel review unit should not be transferred to this Plus model. For example, Tom’s Guide lists a base X2 Plus with a 60Hz 1920×1200 OLED screen, while its reviewed X2 Elite configuration has 64GB RAM, 2TB storage, and a 120Hz 2880×1800 OLED panel. Those are materially different machines. Tom’s Guide specifications and review

Does it run regular Windows apps?
For many everyday users, Windows on Arm can feel familiar: apps built for Arm run natively, and Windows can use Microsoft’s Prism emulation for many apps built for x86 processors. Tom’s Guide describes that balance as workable for common applications, while flagging specialized software as a possible problem or performance compromise. This is not a guarantee that every Windows program, device driver, anti-cheat system, or workflow will work as expected.
Check your must-have software before buying
- Look up the exact application and version on its developer’s compatibility page, and check whether it has a native Arm release.
- Verify plug-ins, hardware drivers, VPNs, security tools, and peripherals separately; compatibility of the main app does not establish compatibility of the entire workflow.
- For specialized workloads, test with the vendor or your organization’s IT team if possible. Tom’s Guide cites portions of Autodesk software as examples that may not run on Arm or may slow down in emulation; that warning does not mean every Autodesk application fails.

What does HP’s battery claim actually mean?
HP advertises up to 44.45 hours of local video playback for a specified 10-core Snapdragon X2 Plus configuration (XG2-0104) with 16GB RAM, a 70Wh battery, and a 2K OLED touch display. HP’s test used continuous full-screen local FHD 1080p video at 200 nits, system audio at the image default, player audio at 100%, headphones attached or the speaker where there is no audio jack, and wireless turned on but not connected. This is an HP laboratory result under stated conditions; it is not an independent battery test or a forecast for browsing, video calls, office work, or mixed use. Check whether the exact SKU you are considering matches the tested configuration. HP’s product and battery details
No independent battery measurement of the exact X2 Plus configuration is established here. Windows Central’s hands-on review concerned an X2 Elite unit with 18 cores, 64GB RAM, 2TB storage, and a 3K 120Hz OLED display, so its reported 4K editing and gaming experience is not evidence of X2 Plus performance or runtime. Windows Central disclosed that HP supplied its review unit and had no editorial input or pre-publication review. Windows Central’s X2 Elite review

What ports does the OmniBook Ultra 14 have?
Tom’s Guide reports three USB-C ports and one headphone jack on the 2026 chassis. If your setup needs more connections, a USB-C hub or dock is a possible expansion route, not a tested accessory recommendation. Before choosing one, check charging wattage, monitor resolution and refresh rate, and the specific ports your peripherals need. Tom’s Guide on ports

Compare full configurations rather than relying on the family name. The X2 Plus listing identified here is a 16GB/512GB/2K OLED model; the Tom’s Guide Elite review unit is a 64GB/2TB/3K 120Hz OLED machine. Processor, memory, storage, display, battery capacity, ports, local price, and software compatibility all affect whether a particular SKU suits you. Elite performance results do not establish how the Plus performs.
