The Australian HP OmniBook 7 Aero 13-bg1068AU is advertised with a Ryzen AI 7 processor, 32 GB of memory, a 1 TB SSD and a 13.3-inch 2K display. Its appeal is a travel-friendly size paired with a relatively generous advertised configuration. The main caveat is that independent test results cover the OmniBook 7 Aero family, not a confirmed 13-bg1068AU unit, and the available Australian product listing does not establish every specification or current price.
What the Australian 13-bg1068AU listing says
HP Australia’s listing search result identifies model 13-bg1068AU and advertises Windows 11 Home, an AMD Ryzen AI 7 processor, 32 GB LPDDR5x-7500 memory, a 1 TB SSD, a 13.3-inch 2K display, and integrated AMD Radeon 860M graphics. It also lists a 5MP IR camera and a backlit keyboard. These are advertised headline specifications; confirm them on the live Australian SKU page or with the seller before buying, because the product page was not directly verified. The listing search result once displayed a price of A$3,597, but it was crawled about 1.3 years before the article was prepared. That figure is not a reliable current Australian price. Check the live listing and compare the exact configuration with alternatives at the price you can actually pay.

TechRadar published its OmniBook 7 Aero review in February 2026 after using a unit for a couple of weeks for work, streaming, gaming and AI tasks. The review is useful evidence about the family, but it does not confirm that the tested configuration was 13-bg1068AU. Its results should therefore be treated as indicative of the review unit, not as guaranteed performance or battery life for this Australian SKU. TechRadar’s OmniBook 7 Aero review

Productivity and graphics
TechRadar measured 2,825 single-core and 12,137 multi-core in Geekbench 6.5 on its test unit. The reviewer described performance as surprisingly capable for a thin, light laptop. Integrated graphics were considered suitable for some gaming, but not a substitute for a dedicated gaming laptop. Those scores are one reviewer’s measurements and should not be read as results for every 13-bg1068AU configuration.
Battery life and charging
In TechRadar’s web-surfing battery benchmark, its unit lasted 8 hours, 51 minutes and 7 seconds. The reviewer found endurance less impressive than some thin-and-light competitors. This is a test result under that review’s methodology, not a promised runtime; workload, settings and the exact configuration can change results. The review also reported that its unit could recharge to about 50% in 30 minutes while powered off. That charging result has not been confirmed for the Australian SKU.

- 【RAM & Storage】This computer comes with 8GB RAM DDR5 | 512GB SSD
- 【Intel Core 5 120U Processor】It is a mid-range notebook CPU based on the Raptor Lake-U Refresh (RPL-U) series , which was introduced in January 2024. The CPU offers 2 performance cores (P-cores, Golden Cove architecture) and 8 efficiency cores (E-cores, Gracemont architecture). The P-cores support hyperthreading (therefore 12 threads together) and clock from 1.4 to 5 GHz. The E-cores clock from 0.9 - 3.8 GHz and should offer comparable performance to old Skylake cores (e.g. i7-6300HQ).
- 【14-inch 2K Touch Display】Intuitive touchscreen technology lets you control your PC right from the screen. Transform your content with 1920 x 1200 resolution and 178-degree wide-viewing angles. Make taking notes, sketching, and editing easier by rotating the screen to tablet or tent mode. Multitouch-enabled, IPS (in-plane switching), edge-to-edge glass.
- 【Other features】Intel Graphics,Microsoft Copilot,Tuned stereo speakers,HP Audio Boost,HP 5MP IR Camera with HDR Switch,Windows 11 Home OS.
- 【Bundle with Capacitive Stylus with Magnetic Cap】Stylus pen is made of aluminum alloy, which is light weight and very comfortable to hold, and it does not need to connect Bluetooth and does not need to be charged. The cap is magnetic and can absorb in the end of stylus pens.
Display, camera and keyboard
TechRadar measured 0.29 Delta E accuracy and 112% sRGB coverage on its test display, while noting 79% DCI-P3 coverage as less compelling for HDR-oriented photo work. The reviewer found the 5MP IR camera sharp and noted a physical privacy shutter. The keyboard was described as serviceable but shallow, so anyone who types for long sessions should try it in person if possible. These are observations and measurements from the review unit, not verified characteristics of 13-bg1068AU.

Under heavy load, TechRadar reported noticeable fan noise and warmth, measuring up to 103.8°F between the G and H keys on its review unit. This points to a trade-off for demanding sustained workloads in a compact chassis; it is not a temperature measurement for every SKU or use pattern.

Configuration differences make SKU checks important
The related HP 13-bg1056AU listed on HP’s Philippines site shares a Ryzen AI 7 350 description and 1 TB SSD, but has 16 GB of onboard LPDDR5x-7500 memory rather than the 32 GB advertised for Australia’s 13-bg1068AU. The Philippines page also specifies an 8-core, 16-thread processor, integrated Radeon 860M graphics, a 13.3-inch 2560 × 1600 IPS anti-glare 400-nit panel, a 43 Wh battery, weight under 1 kg and a 65 W USB-C power adapter. These are family and related-SKU details, not proof of the exact Australian model’s full specification. HP Philippines specifications for 13-bg1056AU
That related model’s page lists two USB-C 10 Gbps ports with USB Power Delivery 3.1 and DisplayPort 2.1, two USB-A ports (one 10 Gbps and one 5 Gbps), HDMI 2.1 and a headphone/microphone combo jack. A broad port selection would be useful on a travel laptop, but verify the Australian model’s port layout before relying on it. HP Philippines’ warranty terms do not establish Australian warranty coverage.

Who is this laptop best suited to?
- Consider it if: you want a compact machine for travel and value the advertised 32 GB memory and 1 TB storage, subject to confirmation for the exact SKU.
- Check the details first if: weight, display brightness, port selection, battery capacity or warranty coverage will decide your purchase. Related regional models offer clues, not a substitute for the Australian specification and warranty.
- Look elsewhere if: your priorities are the longest possible unplugged runtime, a deeper-feeling keyboard, or sustained graphics-heavy work. TechRadar’s family-level findings raise cautions on endurance, keyboard travel, heat and fan activity, but are not SKU-specific verdicts.
How to compare it before buying
Compare the live Australian price and the exact configuration, not just the OmniBook family name. Against similarly priced ultraportables, check weight, screen resolution and brightness, color coverage, memory and storage, battery tests under comparable workloads, port placement, keyboard comfort and local warranty support. TechRadar named the Dell Inspiron 14 Plus and 13-inch Apple MacBook Air (M4) as alternatives in its February 2026 context, describing the MacBook Air as a longer-battery option. Prices and comparisons from that review may no longer reflect current Australian availability or value.
