Where to buy the HP OmniBook 5 14 AI PC
HP named HP.com and Best Buy as expected U.S. retailers for the OmniBook 5 14 AI PC, with availability expected in October 2026 and a starting price of $699.99. HP’s announcement does not establish current stock or confirm a listing at any other seller. Check both named retailers directly for a live product page; do not assume the starting price applies to every configuration.
Before placing an order, verify the product name and exact SKU, memory, storage, display description, included charger, shipping estimate, and final price. Early coverage differs on which configurations were disclosed, and reported options may not be available in every retailer listing or region.

What the $699.99 starting price does—and does not—tell you
HP announced a U.S. starting price of $699.99. It is a floor for the product line, not a confirmed price for every memory or storage configuration, and the announcement does not identify the exact configuration attached to that price. The final price and specifications should be checked against the live retailer SKU.
Tom’s Hardware reported Intel Core 5 320 and Core 7 350 processor options, integrated Intel graphics, soldered LPDDR5-6400 memory in 8GB, 12GB, or 16GB capacities, and PCIe Gen 4 SSD options of 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB. Its report said 12GB memory and 1TB storage were planned for November 2026. Treat these as reported configuration details, not a guarantee that a particular option is currently offered. Tom’s Hardware also reported a 60Wh battery and a weight of 2.56 pounds.

What the 42-hour battery claim means
HP says the OmniBook 5 can deliver up to 42 hours of video playback. Its stated test used continuous, full-screen FHD video played from local storage at 200 nits, with wireless enabled but not connected. HP says actual battery life varies with configuration and use. Streaming video, video calls, web browsing, brightness, wireless activity, and heavier workloads can all differ from that controlled local-playback scenario.

How it compares with Apple’s MacBook Neo
The OmniBook 5 and MacBook Neo are different-platform laptops, not products that have been compared in a controlled test here. HP describes a 14-inch OLED Windows laptop; Apple describes MacBook Neo as a 13-inch Liquid Retina laptop running macOS. Apple’s product page lists up to 16 hours of battery life, but its method is not established as directly comparable with HP’s local-video test.

Choose between them by checking whether the applications and accessories you rely on work with Windows or macOS, then compare the exact display, memory, storage, ports, weight, and live price of the models you can buy. HP also lists an 11.77mm profile; compare the exact model specifications rather than treating thinness alone as a measure of portability.

- Look for a live listing at HP.com or Best Buy; HP named these as expected U.S. sellers.
- Confirm the SKU and the configuration’s memory and SSD capacity rather than relying on a product-family headline.

- Compare the listing’s current price with the announced $699.99 starting price, and review the final checkout total.
- Check included accessories and whether the software and peripherals you need support Windows.
