That price was reported again on October 6, but it has not been verified live for October 7; check HP’s listing for the current price and stock before buying. The offer surfaced ahead of Amazon’s Prime Day event, but the reported seller was HP—not Amazon.
What was the reported deal?
PC Gamer reported the HP US price as $2,799.99 on October 5, 2026, compared with a former listed price of $4,999.99. Tom’s Hardware reported the same sale price on October 6. These are dated publisher reports, not a confirmed checkout quote for October 7, so availability and price may have changed. PC Gamer’s October 5 deal report and Tom’s Hardware’s October 6 report both identify HP US as the seller.

The timing explains the Prime Day line: HP’s reported offer appeared before Amazon’s event began. It should not be read as an Amazon price or as proof that this was the lowest RTX 5080 desktop price on the market.

PC Gamer’s deal report describes this configuration as having a 1,000 W power supply and a 240 mm all-in-one liquid cooler. HP’s product listing confirms the core configuration above; the PSU and cooler details here come from the deal report. The available information does not establish that the processor throttles or that a larger radiator is necessary.

The RTX 5080 and Ryzen 7 9800X3D make for a high-end gaming-oriented specification, but the cited deal coverage does not provide benchmark results for this exact combination. PC Gamer explicitly said it had not tested an RTX 5080 paired with the 9800X3D; its positive assessment was an expectation, not a measured finding. Prior reviews of other OMEN 35L systems do not establish this model’s performance.
