Yes—if the live price is really about $100, the HP OfficeJet Pro 8125 is a capable home-office upgrade for routine color documents, scanning and copying. It combines automatic two-sided printing, a 35-sheet document feeder and practical wireless/mobile support. The important qualification is workload: HP recommends up to 800 pages per month, so the 20,000-page maximum duty-cycle figure should not be treated as a target. The advertised $100 is a time-limited deal angle, not a guaranteed permanent price; check the current retailer listing before buying.
What the OfficeJet Pro 8125 does
The OfficeJet Pro 8125 is a color thermal-inkjet multifunction printer for printing, copying and scanning. Its automatic duplexer handles two-sided output without manually turning pages, while the 35-sheet automatic document feeder (ADF) can feed multi-page originals for scans and copies. A 2.7-inch capacitive touchscreen provides on-device controls.

ISO speeds are standardized estimates rather than a promise that every document will print at that rate. Graphics-heavy pages, photographs, duplex jobs and higher-quality settings generally take longer.

- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.

Is it fast enough for a home office?
HP rates the 8125 at 20 ppm for black ISO pages and 10 ppm for color ISO pages. Draft mode is rated up to 29 ppm black and 25 ppm color, which can help with internal documents where appearance is less important. Those figures suit invoices, schoolwork, forms, reports and occasional marketing pages. The 225-sheet tray means a typical household should not refill it constantly, and the ADF makes a stack of originals far less tedious than placing each page on the scanner glass.
The 800-page recommended monthly volume is the useful planning number. A 20,000-page maximum duty cycle describes an upper mechanical limit, not a sensible recurring workload or a guarantee of that output without accelerated wear.

Ink, Instant Ink and ownership cost
The U.S. version uses four separate HP 923 cartridges: one black and three color cartridges. Separate tanks mean an empty cyan, magenta or yellow cartridge does not automatically force replacement of the other colors. Regional cartridge numbers can differ, so confirm the part number for your market before ordering HP 923 replacement ink.

HP identifies the printer as eligible for HP Instant Ink and its current U.S. shop page advertises three free months. Enrollment requires an eligible internet-connected printer, an account and payment details. Subscription pricing, page allowances, trial eligibility and cancellation terms can change, so read the live terms before enrolling. If your printing is irregular, buying cartridges as needed may be simpler; if your monthly pages are predictable, compare the plan’s recurring fee with ordinary cartridge prices and your actual page mix.

- Flawless 4K@60Hz Video with HDMI: Delivers exceptional clarity and smoothness with its 4K@60Hz HDMI port, making it ideal for high-definition presentations and entertainment. (Note: Only the HDMI port supports video projection; the USB-C port is for data transfer only.)

HP also warns that dynamic-security measures may block cartridges that use a non-HP chip and that firmware updates can change cartridge compatibility. That policy makes it important to check replacement-ink support before committing to a third-party cartridge source or installing optional firmware updates.
Who should buy the 8125?
Good fit
- Households and home offices printing routine black-and-color documents.
- Users who scan or copy multi-page paperwork and want an ADF.
- Anyone who regularly needs automatic two-sided pages.
- Shared spaces where Wi-Fi, mobile printing and Ethernet flexibility matter.
- Occasional photo, brochure or 4×6 photo-paper jobs rather than continuous photo production.
Look elsewhere when
- Most of your work is high-volume black text; a laser printer may offer a better operational fit.
- Long-run color-ink cost is your primary concern; a tank-based model may be more economical, depending on its current price and specifications.
- You routinely exceed roughly 800 pages per month; choose equipment whose recommended volume matches that workload.
Buying checklist before paying
- Verify the live selling price. The $100 figure is tied to a limited-time promotion framework and can change without notice.
- Confirm that the listing is the OfficeJet Pro 8125 and not a region-specific variant with different cartridge identifiers.
- Check that the box includes setup cartridges and account for their approximately 255-page black and 270-page-per-color estimates.
- Decide whether automatic duplexing and the 35-sheet ADF match your document routine; these are the features that most clearly separate it from a basic printer.
- Price a replacement black cartridge and a complete color set before purchase, then compare those costs with any Instant Ink plan you are considering.
- Leave room for the 18.11-inch-wide, 13.29-inch-deep footprint and access to the 225-sheet tray and scanner lid.
Bottom line on the $100 deal
At a genuine price near $100, the HP OfficeJet Pro 8125 offers unusually complete home-office functionality: 20-ppm black ISO output, 10-ppm color ISO output, automatic duplexing, a 35-sheet ADF, a 225-sheet tray and broad wireless/mobile compatibility. It is not a high-volume workgroup machine, and its cartridge policy and recurring ink costs deserve as much attention as the initial discount. Buy it when your workload is within HP’s recommended 800 pages per month and the current price and ink terms still fit your budget.
