What the EliteBook X Flip G2i is—and what this review can establish
HP specifies a maximum hinge opening angle of 360 degrees. Its US sales page describes laptop, tent and tablet modes, making the Flip relevant to people who want a work notebook that can also handle touch-based interaction or presentations. A convertible’s hinge does not, by itself, establish that tablet mode is comfortable for extended use; that requires hands-on evaluation.

This is the X Flip, not the related clamshell EliteBook X G2i. A January 2026 TechRadar hands-on report concerns the clamshell model, so its measurements and impressions should not be applied to the Flip. HP’s published specifications are useful for identifying configurations, but they are manufacturer claims rather than independent test results.

Which screen configuration should you choose?
HP’s support specification lists multiple touchscreen panels, not one standard display for every X Flip G2i. Resolution, panel technology, refresh rate, brightness, finish, color gamut, low-blue-light details and privacy features vary by option. Match the panel description to the precise SKU rather than assuming that a feature on one listing applies across the range.

The table summarizes options in HP’s family specifications; it does not mean every panel is available in every country or with every processor. HP’s featured US shop configuration is listed with a 14-inch 3K, 120 Hz, anti-glare OLED touchscreen rated at 500 nits and 100% DCI-P3. Other US listings surfaced WUXGA touch LCD models. Those are distinct configurations, not interchangeable descriptions of the whole product line.
If display choice is central to your purchase, compare the listing’s full panel specification—including finish and any privacy or color-gamut details—before ordering. The published figures are specifications, not independent brightness, color or reflection measurements.

What does the featured US configuration include?
HP’s featured US configuration pairs a Core Ultra X7 358H with 32 GB of onboard LPDDR5x-9600 memory and a 1 TB PCIe Gen5 NVMe M.2 SSD. HP lists Windows 11 Pro, 16 cores and 16 threads, a maximum processor frequency of 4.8 GHz, integrated Intel Arc B390 graphics, and Intel AI Boost rated at 50 NPU TOPS. The TOPS figure is a vendor specification, not a benchmark result.
HP also lists other X Flip G2i configurations, including Core Ultra 7 356H and Core Ultra 5 325 variants, as well as differing memory, storage and display combinations. Since at least some memory is onboard, confirm the capacity of the actual unit at checkout; the available product information does not establish upgradeability for every SKU or component.
These specifications help identify what a particular listing offers, but they cannot answer how fast it performs under sustained workloads, how well its graphics handle a given application, or how it compares with another laptop in real use. No independent benchmark results for the exact Flip model are established here.

Does it include a pen, and what are the camera and audio features?
HP says its HP Nested Pen is available on select models, so do not assume it is in the box. Verify the included accessories and bundle on the exact regional listing. HP’s support specification gives the pen a 30-second charging time and up to 120 minutes of usage time; these are HP’s stated figures, not independently tested results. HP Japan has described a built-in storage location for an active pen, but confirm that detail for the market and configuration you are considering rather than treating it as universal.

HP lists a 5 MP infrared camera with a privacy shutter, Poly Studio audio, four integrated stereo speakers, dual-array microphones and AI noise reduction. Those are published features; they do not establish webcam image quality, speaker performance or call clarity in practice.
Ports, wireless and desk setup
The featured US shop configuration lists two Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports, one additional USB-C port, HDMI 2.1, a powered USB-A port, a combined headphone/microphone jack and a nano security lock slot. HP also lists Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6 for that configuration. Check the specific SKU’s listing if ports or wireless capabilities are purchase-critical, and verify monitor compatibility and display support for your intended setup.

HP recommends a Thunderbolt 4 dock as an accessory. A dock may suit a desk setup that needs additional connections, but it is optional; confirm the ports and monitor support you need before choosing one.

HP lists a 68 Wh battery and a 100 W USB-C GaN adapter for the featured US shop configuration. Those are hardware specifications, not a battery-life result. No measured runtime for the exact X Flip G2i is established here, so treat any all-day-use expectation as something to verify with a suitable independent test for the same configuration and workload.
HP Japan’s January 22, 2026 announcement set a Japan starting price of ¥525,800 and an announced sales start date of February 6, 2026. For a current purchase, use the local listing and compare the exact processor, screen, memory, storage, warranty and security bundle rather than relying on a family-level starting price.

Is the HP EliteBook X Flip G2i worth buying?
It is worth considering if you specifically need a 14-inch business convertible and can find a configuration with the display, memory, storage and included accessories your work requires. The 360-degree hinge and panel range make the product family flexible on paper, but the choice between LCD, OLED and Tandem OLED is a real configuration decision—not a minor specification difference.
Buy only after confirming the precise SKU, whether its pen is included, its local price and bundle, and the specifications of any monitor or dock you plan to use. If your decision depends on measured battery life, display quality, sustained performance, keyboard feel or tablet comfort, the available information does not settle those questions for the Flip itself. Do not substitute findings about the clamshell EliteBook X G2i.
