HP lists Core Ultra 5, Core Ultra 7 and Core Ultra X7 options in the US; Notebookcheck tested a Core Ultra 7 366H model with an OLED touchscreen. Check the exact display, processor, memory, storage, price and pen bundle before deciding whether a particular SKU suits you.
What is the HP EliteBook X Flip G2i 14 AI?
It is a business laptop with a convertible hinge, so the screen can be used in laptop and other touch-oriented modes. HP’s Japanese product page shows a dedicated garage for an HP AES rechargeable pen, a practical distinction for people who want to carry a stylus with the computer. HP’s US store lists multiple configurations rather than one universal specification. Check HP’s US configurations and verify the local listing before treating any specification or included accessory as standard.

HP EliteBook X Flip G2i specs: what varies by configuration?
HP’s US listings include Core Ultra 5, Core Ultra 7 and Core Ultra X7 processors. Memory, storage, display, operating system, warranty and bundled security also vary across listings and regions. That makes the specific SKU—not just the model name—the right basis for comparison. HP’s US store is the relevant starting point for current US options; other markets may differ.
HP Japan’s product page depicts two Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports, another USB-C port, USB-A and HDMI 2.1, as well as the pen garage. Treat that port layout as a regional product-page reference, not confirmation that every market’s SKU is identical. Confirm the ports and whether a pen is included on the exact listing. What did the independent review find?
Notebookcheck’s Allen Ngo published a review on August 27, 2026, of a configuration with an Intel Core Ultra 7 366H and OLED touchscreen. The review praised the OLED display, port selection, speakers and integrated stylus garage. Those are observations about that tested machine, not guarantees about every display or configuration. Read Notebookcheck’s configuration-specific review.
The review also noted tradeoffs: its matte-panel option could look grainy, the left palm rest could become warm under load, and the stylus might feel narrow. Notebookcheck characterized the generation as improved in several respects over its predecessor, while warning that the matte panel could bother some users. The OLED model it tested and the matte option should be assessed separately; the review’s specific findings should not be generalized to every SKU.

Is the EliteBook X Flip G2i worth buying?
It may make sense if you want a business convertible and will use its touch modes or pen storage, and if the exact configuration offers the screen and components you need at a price you accept. The OLED review configuration earned positive comments on its screen, speakers and ports, but that does not establish that all versions share those strengths or the same value.

Price and availability depend on market and date
HP Japan announced a suggested retail starting price of ¥525,800 and a February 6, 2026 sale start in Japan. HP noted that pricing and specifications could change, so this is a regional launch reference, not a current global price. HP Japan’s January 2026 announcement.
Notebookcheck reported a price of about $3,000 for its review configuration at the time of publication. That is a dated reference for that US configuration, not a current price for every version. Check the retailer or HP listing in your region for current stock, price and configuration details.

How to compare it with other 14-inch business convertibles
There is no sound universal winner without matching the configurations and prices being considered. Compare the Flip with alternatives on the details that change the experience: display resolution, panel technology, refresh rate, brightness and matte or glossy finish; processor and integrated graphics tier; memory and storage; convertible and pen workflow; behavior under sustained load; and local price, warranty and included accessories. Notebookcheck’s review includes comparisons with business convertibles from Dell, MSI and Lenovo, but the result for a buyer depends on the specific models and needs being compared.
