Short answer: the available official pages do not yet establish what the phrase “Yuno’s new transformation” officially names, how it works, or whether it surpasses Asta’s Devil Union. They confirm the rivalry and identify the late-series chapters readers need to inspect, but they do not expose enough panel text to support a canon-by-canon power verdict.
That makes a careful comparison possible only as an evidence check. The manga must establish each form’s power source, combat function, limits and performance in the same encounter before anyone can responsibly call one stronger.

What the official material establishes
Black Clover presents Asta and Yuno as lifelong rivals chasing the same ambition: reaching the top of the Magic Knights and becoming Wizard King. The official Yuno character profile describes that shared goal and rivalry, which is the narrative reason readers naturally place their major power-ups side by side. Read the profile at the official Yuno page and the series information at VIZ’s Black Clover page.
#1 Best Overall
VIZ’s chapter index lists chapters 390, 391 and 392 as late-series entries dated April 30, 2026. Chapter 391 is titled A Conclusion Reached; chapter 392 is titled Beyond Not Giving Up. Those labels identify the relevant reading sequence, but a listing page is not a substitute for the panels themselves. The index is at VIZ’s chapter index, with the individual pages for chapter 391 and chapter 392.
| Source | What it verifies | What it does not verify |
|---|---|---|
| Official Yuno profile | Asta and Yuno’s rival relationship and shared Wizard King ambition | The name, mechanics or ranking of Yuno’s latest form |
| VIZ series page | Official series context and access point | A detailed description of either transformation |
| VIZ chapter index | Chapter identity and publication metadata for chapters 390–392 | Panel-by-panel actions, costs, duration or outcomes |
| VIZ chapter 391 and 392 pages | Official chapter access and titles | A searchable mechanics summary in the page text available here |
Why there is no sourced winner yet
The phrase “Yuno’s new transformation” is a reader-facing description, not a verified canon form name in the official material available for this comparison. The retrieved publisher pages identify the chapters but do not provide enough scene text to confirm the terminology, the activation conditions or the abilities shown in the panels.
That distinction matters because a visual change can represent a temporary technique, a new state, a combination of existing powers or simply an illustration of an ongoing ability. Calling it a formally named transformation before checking the original panel and official translation turns an assumption into a fact.
Rank #2
The same problem affects claims that it equals or exceeds Devil Union. “Devil Union” is the form named in the question, but the accessible official metadata here does not provide the exact scene evidence needed to compare it with the late-series Yuno form. A strength ranking would therefore be speculation unless it is tied to directly observed actions and outcomes.
The four tests a fair comparison must pass
When the chapter pages are read directly, compare the forms on the same four axes. This prevents a design impression or a fan power-scaling label from standing in for evidence.
| Axis | Questions to answer in the manga | Why it changes the verdict |
|---|---|---|
| Power source | What does the form draw on? Does the narration name that source, and is it distinct from the character’s normal resource? | Two forms can look similar while relying on different systems, conditions or partners. |
| Combat function | What is explicitly shown: attack power, defense, movement, battlefield control or support? | A form designed for control or protection should not be judged only by destructive output. |
| Constraints | Does the chapter state a time limit, stamina or mana cost, activation condition, recoil or counter? | A spectacular state that lasts briefly is not equivalent to one that can be maintained throughout a fight. |
| Same-fight performance | What action does the form enable, what does the opponent do in response, and what is the immediate result? | Concrete exchanges are more reliable than general claims that one character is “stronger.” |
How to verify Yuno’s form without importing fan assumptions
- Open the official chapter pages. Start with the VIZ index, then read chapters 391 and 392 in sequence. Record the page or panel where the new state first appears.
- Copy the translated term exactly. If the dialogue, narration or caption names the state, preserve that wording. If no name appears, describe what is visible instead of inventing a canon label.
- Separate narration from inference. Mark statements made by a narrator or character separately from conclusions such as “this is a stronger version.” The latter needs supporting action.
- Log every demonstrated function. Note whether the form changes an attack, movement, defense, area effect or interaction with another character. Do not list an ability merely because its design resembles an earlier one.
- Record limits at the moment they appear. A warning, countdown, injury, loss of control or recovery scene belongs beside the feat that used the form.
- Compare like with like. Match a defensive showing against a defensive showing, a finishing attack against a finishing attack and a movement feat against a movement feat. Avoid combining unrelated scenes into a single score.
- State what remains unknown. If the chapter never gives a duration, range or cost, write “not stated” rather than estimating it.
What terms such as Neverland mean in this discussion
Reader communities use labels including “Neverland,” “Yuno new transformation” and “Devil Union.” Those terms can help locate conversations, but they are not automatically official terminology. One Reddit discussion also uses the retrospective phrases “half devil transformation (black /devil union)” and “half spirit transformation (spirit dive).” That wording belongs to the discussion, not to a publisher glossary; see the reader discussion only as an example of fan vocabulary.
Use a fan term in an article only when it is clearly attributed as a community label. The safe order is: quote the official translation first, explain what the panels show second, and mention a reader nickname last, if it helps people find the conversation. Never let a nickname establish a power level, a duration or a relationship between abilities.

| Claim | Status | Responsible wording |
|---|---|---|
| Asta and Yuno are rivals pursuing the Wizard King position | Established by the official character material | Use this as the narrative context for comparing their forms. |
| Chapters 390–392 are the relevant late-series reading window listed by VIZ | Established by VIZ metadata dated April 30, 2026 | Identify the chapters and their titles, while distinguishing metadata from scene evidence. |
| The new Yuno state has a confirmed official name | Not established by the accessible official pages | Call it “the state described by readers as Yuno’s new transformation” until the panel wording is checked. |
| The state has a specific power source, duration or cost | Not established here | Do not supply a mechanism or number without the chapter panel and translation. |
| Yuno’s state is stronger than Devil Union | Not established here | Withhold a winner claim; compare demonstrated actions after verifying the chapters. |
Why “which is stronger?” is an incomplete question
Power in Black Clover can be situational even when two forms are presented as major milestones. A transformation may improve one category while leaving another unchanged. For example, a chapter-grounded comparison might show that one state controls space while the other is better at a direct exchange; neither observation alone produces an overall ranking.
A useful verdict therefore has three parts:
- Capability: what the form demonstrably does.
- Reliability: whether the character can activate and sustain it under the shown conditions.
- Outcome: what happened when the ability was used against a specific opponent.
If one of those parts is absent, the conclusion should remain qualified. “The chapter shows a new battlefield effect, but does not state its duration” is stronger and more useful than an unsupported numerical tier.

Reading plan for spoiler-sensitive fans
If you want only official confirmation
Read the official Yuno profile first for the rivalry context, then use VIZ’s index to open chapters 391 and 392. Treat every transformation name and ability description as provisional until it appears in the official translation. This route avoids importing forum terminology before you see the scene.
If you already know the scenes and want a terminology check
Make a two-column note: the exact translated wording in one column and the community label in the other. Keep the columns separate. A nickname may be convenient, but it should never replace the wording that appears in the chapter.

If you are collecting the manga
Shueisha’s official portal lists collected editions, including volume 36, at the Black Clover manga portal. The available information does not establish which volume contains chapters 390–392 or the compared scenes, so check the volume’s contents before assuming it includes this transformation.

Publication details and how to handle later updates
VIZ’s index metadata is dated April 30, 2026 for chapters 390–392. Because chapter pages and translations can be updated or supplemented, verify the wording on the live official page when publishing or revising a comparison. If a later official release supplies a formal name or explains a limit, replace the provisional language with the exact quotation and chapter reference.
Until that verification is done, the most accurate conclusion is deliberately limited: the official material confirms why Asta and Yuno are being compared and where the late-series scenes are located, but it does not support a sourced claim that Yuno’s new state matches or defeats Devil Union.
