For overall member status and membership revenue, use Earn > Memberships. In India, a member’s recurring payment may also require verification under RBI eMandate requirements, so a recurrence is not guaranteed simply because someone is an active member.
Where to find membership renewals in YouTube Studio
In YouTube Studio, open Analytics > Revenue > Transactions Revenue. The Transactions card counts events for the selected time period and classifies them as either new sign-ups or recurrences. YouTube Help describes it plainly: “Transactions are either new sign-ups or recurrences.” A recurrence is a membership transaction that is not a first sign-up.
For a more detailed membership-revenue breakdown, use Analytics > Revenue > How you make money > Memberships. The program-level membership cards are in Earn > Memberships. YouTube’s guide to analyzing and managing channel memberships describes these report locations and metrics.
What the Memberships tab shows
The Earn > Memberships tab summarizes the channel’s program rather than listing every member’s payment as a payout. Its cards can show total and active members, revenue for the last billing period, members by level, sign-ups and cancellations, and optional feedback from members who cancel.

- Total members can include people who have cancelled but still have access to perks through the end of their paid billing period.
- Active members excludes cancelled members.
- Members by level breaks the membership count down by the creator’s membership levels.
- Sign-ups and cancellations show changes in membership, while optional cancellation feedback can provide context for cancellations.
How to interpret members gained, canceled, and lost
In Analytics > Audience, the Total Member card can show total and active members over time. Related metrics include Members Gained, Members Canceled, and Members Lost. YouTube defines Members Lost as cancelled members who lose perk access when their billing period ends.
These labels describe different things from transaction categories. A recurrence or new sign-up is a transaction event; active, total, canceled, and lost describe membership status or access. A canceled member may remain in total members until their current paid access expires, so a cancellation does not necessarily mean an immediate drop in total members.

What India’s recurring-payment rules can mean
YouTube says members in India may need to verify or re-enter payment details to maintain recurring channel memberships under RBI eMandate requirements. Some banks may not support recurring payments. This can interrupt a member’s renewal or require action on the member’s side; it does not mean every Indian renewal fails, and the Studio transaction report does not establish why a particular payment was interrupted.
If a member needs their own charge date, payment method, or transaction status, they should check the relevant account or payment history. A creator’s Studio metrics cannot show a member’s bank outcome. See YouTube’s billing and payment information for channel members for the India-specific payment note.

Transaction counts, billing-period revenue, and payouts are different
Transactions Revenue counts events within the date range selected in Analytics. By contrast, the Revenue card in Earn > Memberships is described as earnings for the last billing period. These are not interchangeable figures, and an individual recurrence should not be treated as a creator payout amount.
YouTube states that creators receive 70% of membership revenue recognized by Google after local sales taxes and other fees are deducted; the member’s country or region and platform can affect deductions. AdSense for YouTube is the payment programme. Its help page describes a beta payment-details view in the Studio mobile app for eligible creators, with payment progress and payment history. That payment view is separate from the membership transaction classification in Analytics.
Membership billing periods are not always exactly 30 days: YouTube says they can be 28, 30, or 31 days depending on the calendar month. Its example says a September membership provides 30 days of perk access before the next payment is due. See YouTube’s AdSense for YouTube payment information for the payment-program details.
If a renewal does not appear as expected
- Check the selected date range: Transactions Revenue counts events within the chosen period, whereas the Memberships revenue card refers to the last billing period.
- Check the member-status definition: a cancelled member may still have access through the rest of the paid billing period, and Members Lost is tied to when that access ends.
- Consider the member’s payment requirements in India: eMandate verification or a bank that does not support recurring payments may affect continuation. The Studio report does not diagnose that cause.
- For the member’s charge or payment status: check the member’s relevant account or payment history rather than inferring an individual bank result from creator-level Studio cards.
