Short answer: YouTube does not publish a fixed payout per replay view or a special rate for a 24/7 livestream replay. An eligible channel may earn Watch Page ad and YouTube Premium revenue when people watch the public replay, but only if ads or Premium viewing generate revenue. YouTube says eligible partners receive 55% of net Watch Page ad revenue under the Watch Page Monetization Module; views alone cannot tell you what a replay earned.
What can earn money when someone watches a replay?
A livestream replay is subject to Watch Page monetization when it is available as a public video. To earn ad and YouTube Premium revenue from long-form or live-streaming Watch Page videos, a creator needs access to the applicable YouTube Partner Program monetization features and must accept the Watch Page Monetization Module. Ads must also be enabled for the video, and YouTube reviews videos under its standard process. Turning ads on does not guarantee that an ad will appear. YouTube’s partner earnings overview and its live-stream monetization guidance explain these conditions.

Premium viewing can also contribute revenue under the Watch Page terms. Eligible livestreams may have other revenue sources, including Super Chat, Super Stickers and channel memberships, but those are separate from replay ad revenue. Do not treat a channel’s total revenue as if it all came from ads served on replay views.

What does YouTube’s 55% share mean?
YouTube says partners receive 55% of net revenue from ads shown or streamed on their public Watch Page videos when they accept the Watch Page Monetization Module. This is a share of net Watch Page ad revenue—not 55% of an advertiser’s gross spend, and not a fixed payment for each view. YouTube does not guarantee how much a partner will earn, or that a payment will be made. See YouTube’s explanation of partner earnings.

Why replay views do not translate into a fixed payout
YouTube reports several different measures. They describe different events and should not be used interchangeably:
| Measure | What it represents |
|---|---|
| Views | Video play starts counted under YouTube’s view-count rules. A view does not prove that an ad was shown. |
| Estimated monetized playbacks | Playbacks in which at least one ad impression was shown. Not every playback is monetized. |
| Ad impressions | Ads shown to viewers. A monetized playback can include more than one impression. |
| Estimated ad revenue | Estimated creator revenue attributed to advertising; use it to focus on ads rather than the channel’s broader revenue mix. |
Whether an ad appears depends on YouTube’s ad systems and factors such as ad availability, targeting, viewer geography, Premium status and the viewer’s ad exposure history. For live streams, YouTube says pre-roll and display ads are automatically enabled when live monetization is on, and creators can use mid-roll ads during the broadcast. However, ad slots are not guaranteed to serve. Those live controls do not establish a replay-specific payout, nor do live mid-roll intervals automatically determine which ads appear on a replay. YouTube’s ad metrics guidance describes the distinctions among views, monetized playbacks and impressions.

How to check revenue from live streams and replays
- Open YouTube Studio and select Analytics.
- Open the Revenue tab.
- Choose the Live filter to view the live ad-revenue breakdown, including live replays. Use the revenue-source report or estimated ad revenue when you want to isolate advertising.
YouTube says Analytics can show a breakdown of ad revenue from live streams and live replays. RPM is broader: it is creator revenue after YouTube’s share per 1,000 views and can include ads, Premium, memberships, Super Chat and Super Stickers. CPM is an advertiser-focused cost per 1,000 ad impressions before revenue share. Neither figure should be mistaken for a guaranteed replay payout. See YouTube’s explanation of RPM and CPM and its live-stream analytics guidance.

Revenue shown soon after a stream is an estimate. YouTube says monthly estimated revenue can be adjusted for invalid traffic, Content ID claims and disputes, and certain ad campaign types. It describes two adjustment points: a more complete estimate after about one week, followed by finalization in the middle of the following month. Early Studio figures may therefore differ from finalized earnings. YouTube’s estimated-revenue guidance covers these adjustments.

Does the 2026 view-count update change replay earnings?
YouTube states that, beginning August 24, 2026, views are counted when a video starts to play across formats, including livestreams and long-form videos. YouTube also says this update does not affect YouTube Partner Program earnings or eligibility. A changed view count is not evidence of a change in monetized playbacks, ad impressions or replay payout. See YouTube’s content-performance guidance.
What this means for a 24/7 channel
There is no reliable way to calculate a replay’s future earnings from its view count alone. Check that the channel and video are eligible and monetized, then use the Live-filtered revenue reports to inspect actual results. No universal per-view, per-day or 24/7 replay rate is published by YouTube; an estimate for a particular channel would require its own Analytics data.
