Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Short answer: MythicOwl, the developer of Truckful, says the game holds a steady 60 frames per second on high settings through most of the experience on Steam Deck. That is a developer-reported result, not an independently reproduced benchmark or a promise of an unbroken 60 fps in every scene.
The same October 6, 2026 update said Steam’s official Deck Verified rating was still pending. There is also no usable Truckful-specific test data for ROG Ally, Lenovo Legion Go, or other handheld PCs, so a measured performance ranking between those systems and Steam Deck would be misleading.

What the developer actually reports on Steam Deck
MythicOwl says it has tested Truckful on Steam Deck extensively since the game was announced in 2024. The team also demonstrated builds on the device at PAX East and PAX West. In its October 6, 2026 update, the studio described “Truckful maintaining a steady 60fps on high settings throughout most of the game!”

It establishes a practical target for a Deck owner: high visual quality with performance near 60 fps across most gameplay. It does not establish a frame-rate lock in every location, a particular screen resolution, a specific wattage setting, or a minimum frame rate during demanding scenes. MythicOwl did not publish a test protocol, frame-time chart, capture of every area, or independent measurement.

- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
The wording matters. “Throughout most of the game” leaves room for brief dips, loading transitions, unusually busy scenes, or future builds that behave differently. Treat 60 fps as the studio’s observed result under its own test conditions, not as a guaranteed specification.
The earlier 40–60 fps expectation
MythicOwl’s September 22 FAQ used less definite language. It said the game was optimized for Linux-based handhelds, including Steam Deck, and that the team was aiming for Verified status at launch. The FAQ forecast “+40/60fps during most scenes.” It also said 30 fps at high detail should be achievable on the published minimum PC specifications.
Those figures were expectations. The October 6 update is later and reports an observed Deck result, so it should take priority when the two statements differ. Neither statement is an independently reproduced benchmark.

Is Truckful officially Steam Deck Verified?
Not according to MythicOwl’s October 6 update. The developer said it was still waiting for Steam’s official green tick. The studio’s goal of achieving Verified status and its reported frame rate are separate from Valve’s review process.
Valve’s Verified categories evaluate whether a game works reliably on the device and is usable with its controls. The checks include seamless operation, controller navigation, and Proton or system-support considerations. A Verified badge is therefore a compatibility and usability signal, not a promise of 60 fps, high settings, or any other performance number.
If you are checking the game after October 6, 2026, look at the current compatibility section on its Steam store page. Valve can update a rating as testing is completed, and game updates can change behavior. A later badge would answer the compatibility question, but it would not replace a game-specific performance test.

What lower-end Linux handheld owners can expect
MythicOwl says Truckful includes adjustable quality settings for Linux devices that struggle to maintain the desired performance. This gives owners a way to trade visual quality for smoother play instead of treating the high preset as the only usable configuration.
The practical order is to start with the developer-reported high preset, then reduce settings only if your device cannot maintain acceptable consistency. Lowering resolution or demanding effects generally has a larger performance effect than changing minor image-quality options, but the game’s exact setting names and impact can change between builds. Use the in-game options and judge consistency in the areas where you notice stutter, rather than assuming a single menu value applies equally everywhere.
What the 30 fps statement does—and does not—mean
The September FAQ’s claim that 30 fps at high detail should be achievable on the published minimum PC specifications is a lower-end expectation for computers meeting those requirements. It is not a promise that every Linux handheld, every scene, or every high-detail configuration will deliver 30 fps. Handheld thermal limits, operating-system overhead, screen resolution, and power settings can all affect the result.

Published PC minimum requirements
The indexed Steam listing publishes Windows minimums, not a handheld performance profile. They are useful for checking whether a computer is in the intended baseline class, but they cannot be converted directly into a Deck, ROG Ally, or Legion Go frame-rate guarantee.
| Requirement | Published minimum | How to interpret it for a handheld |
|---|---|---|
| Operating system | Windows 10 64-bit | The listing’s stated desktop OS requirement; Linux handheld compatibility depends on the game’s Linux/Proton behavior and Steam’s testing. |
| Processor | 64-bit processor | No specific CPU model or handheld chip is named. |
| Memory | 4 GB RAM | A minimum desktop figure, not a measurement of Deck or other handheld performance. |
| Graphics | 2 GB VRAM graphics card; GeForce 900 series and above is listed | No handheld GPU equivalence or frame-rate result is provided. |
| Graphics API | DirectX 10 | Relevant to the Windows listing; Linux devices may rely on their compatibility layer. |
| Storage | 2 GB | The listed installation footprint; reserve additional space for Steam files and updates. |
No separate recommended PC requirements were found in the indexed listing. The minimum table should therefore be used as a baseline check, not as a buying guide or a performance calculator.

Steam Deck LCD versus OLED
Valve’s Steam Deck support guidance covers both LCD and OLED models. MythicOwl’s Truckful statement does not separate results by display model, so the available evidence does not show that one Deck version runs the game faster than the other.

If you are choosing between the two, keep the decision separate from Truckful performance. The developer has reported one general Steam Deck result, not an OLED-specific advantage. Any difference you observe could depend on the selected power profile, game build, operating-system version, display resolution, or other settings, none of which were specified in the studio’s post.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How Truckful compares with ROG Ally, Legion Go, and other handheld PCs
There is no game-specific comparison data that supports ranking Steam Deck against ROG Ally, Lenovo Legion Go, or another named handheld for Truckful. The available community FAQ says a Linux handheld such as an ROG Ally running SteamOS “should be 100% good to go,” but that is a compatibility expectation, not a Truckful benchmark. It does not report frame rate, settings, resolution, battery behavior, or test conditions.
| Handheld | Truckful-specific evidence | Safe conclusion |
|---|---|---|
| Steam Deck | Developer reports steady 60 fps on high settings through most of the game. | The only device with a current, direct performance claim from the developer. |
| Steam Deck LCD | Covered by Valve’s general support guidance; no separate Truckful result. | No evidence of a Truckful-specific speed difference from OLED. |
| Steam Deck OLED | Covered by Valve’s general support guidance; no separate Truckful result. | No evidence of a Truckful-specific speed advantage over LCD. |
| ROG Ally | No usable Truckful performance test; a SteamOS compatibility expectation is mentioned. | Do not infer a frame-rate ranking from general hardware specifications. |
| Lenovo Legion Go | No usable Truckful-specific test located. | Performance remains unestablished for this game. |
| Other handheld PCs | No comparable Truckful measurements reported. | Results require device-specific testing or a later developer report. |
Hardware specifications can suggest that a device is a plausible candidate, but they do not prove how this particular game behaves. Power limits, cooling, drivers, Proton versions, display resolution, and firmware all influence handheld results. Benchmarks from unrelated games cannot fill that evidence gap.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesA practical setup process on Steam Deck
These steps help you verify your own experience without treating the developer’s result as a guarantee.
- Install the current game build. Let Steam finish downloading updates before evaluating performance. A later patch may behave differently from the build used for the October 6 report.
- Start with high quality. Use the developer’s reported high-setting target as your initial configuration, then play long enough to reach more than one type of scene.
- Watch consistency, not only the headline number. Use Steam Deck’s performance display to observe frame rate while driving, turning the camera, entering busy areas, and loading new sections. A brief 60 fps reading is less useful than stable frame pacing.
- Adjust one setting at a time. If performance is not acceptable, lower the most demanding visual options first and retest the same area. Record the setting and result so you can restore image quality later.
- Check the game’s control behavior. Verify that menus, prompts, and gameplay actions work with the built-in controls. This is relevant to Valve’s usability criteria and is separate from frame rate.
- Recheck after updates. Game patches, Proton changes, and SteamOS updates can alter compatibility or performance. Re-test after a major update instead of assuming an earlier result still applies.
How to choose a handheld when Truckful is the deciding game
Use the evidence in this order:
- Choose Steam Deck for the clearest game-specific signal. It is the only platform for which MythicOwl has published a direct result: high settings and a steady 60 fps through most of the game, as reported by the developer.
- Consider another handheld only with an evidence qualifier. ROG Ally, Legion Go, and other PCs may be technically capable, but no Truckful-specific comparison establishes how they perform.
- Separate operating-system questions from speed questions. A device running Windows and one running SteamOS can differ in driver, Proton, launcher, and controller behavior even when their hardware appears similar.
- Decide whether raw performance or efficiency matters more. Higher power limits may improve frame rate but can affect heat, fan noise, and battery life. The available Truckful information does not quantify those trade-offs for any device.
- Check the current Steam listing before buying. The Verified status was pending on October 6, 2026, and Valve’s compatibility information can change.
What is known, unknown, and likely to change
Established
- MythicOwl reports steady 60 fps on high settings through most of Truckful on Steam Deck.
- The developer provides adjustable quality settings for lower-end Linux devices.
- The developer’s latest cited update said official Deck Verified status was still pending.
- The Steam listing gives the Windows minimums shown above.
Not established
- An independently reproduced Steam Deck benchmark.
- A guaranteed 60 fps in every scene.
- Separate Truckful results for Deck LCD and Deck OLED.
- Measured performance on ROG Ally, Legion Go, or other handheld PCs.
- Battery-life, temperature, wattage, frame-time, or resolution comparisons.
That distinction is the reason a simple “which handheld is fastest?” verdict would overstate the evidence. For this game, Steam Deck has the strongest published signal, while the alternatives remain open questions until comparable testing is available.
