Scroll the mouse wheel backward until the camera reaches the view you want. A standard mouse with a working scroll wheel is enough; no special model is required.

The specific zoom-unlock shortcut is documented by Ascend, rather than in the Riot support pages cited here. If it does nothing, open the game’s options with Esc and review your keybindings. Riot explains where to find in-game and client hotkey settings in its Hotkeys FAQ.

Pan the camera more smoothly
For smoother panning, hold the middle mouse button while moving the camera. This is a separate camera movement control, not part of the zoom-unlock sequence, and is described in Riot’s replay FAQ.
When to use League Director instead
The built-in replay camera shortcut is the straightforward choice for simply seeing more of the map. For staged camera work or recording replay footage, Riot’s optional Windows tool, League Director, provides an FPS camera, other camera modes, keyframed camera positions, and video capture. Its documented workflow is to launch League Director, start a replay in League, then select FPS Camera for free camera movement. It is a separate tool and is not needed to unlock the built-in replay zoom.

Does the controller camera preset change the zoom shortcut?
Riot’s Patch 26.17 notes add a controller preset for spectator camera movement when ReplayAPI is enabled. Those notes do not say the preset changes the replay zoom shortcut, so use the keyboard-and-mouse steps above for the documented zoom method.
