Write FLUX 3 Image Klein prompts as complete visual instructions, not keyword piles. Start with one sentence naming the subject and scene, then add style, camera, lighting, color, effects, and any required relationships. Put exact lettering in quotation marks, describe faces and products as full captions, and use reference images plus layout identifiers and bounding boxes when consistency or precise placement matters.
Generate once, inspect the result, and change one prompt element at a time. That disciplined loop is more reliable than rewriting the entire prompt after every image, because you can tell which instruction improved—or damaged—the result.

What FLUX 3 Image Klein can control
FLUX 3 Image Klein is an open-weight model family for text-to-image generation and image editing. NVIDIA’s current model card lists 5.6 billion parameters, support for up to ten reference images, and layout control. Those capabilities make prompting less about finding a magic phrase and more about supplying the visual information the model must preserve, change, or position.
The model accepts natural-language descriptions. A useful starting scaffold is:

Secure, low-profile, and comfortable for workouts, all-day wear or overnight sleeping. The ultra-slim profile sits flush in your ear with no hard edges poking or rubbing, so you can even sleep on your side without discomfort.
- [Immersive Stereo Sound with TOZO OrigX Technology] TOZO OrigX tuning delivers clear vocals, balanced mids, and natural stereo sound for music, podcasts, and videos.
- [Long Battery Life for Daily Use] Get up to 7 hours of playtime on a single charge, with up to 32 hours total using the charging case—ideal for workdays, commuting, and extended listening sessions.
- [Bluetooth 5.3 & Stable Connection] Bluetooth 5.3 provides fast pairing, stable wireless performance, and reduced dropouts as you move around home or office.
- [Deep Bass with Clear Vocals] High-performance drivers produce punchy bass while keeping vocals clean and detailed for everyday listening.
- Subject: what must appear, including identity, object type, materials, or wording.
- Location or setting: studio sweep, room, street, landscape, or an abstract background.
- Style: editorial portrait, catalog photography, 3D illustration, film still, watercolor, or another intentional treatment.
- Camera and framing: lens impression, viewpoint, crop, orientation, and distance.
- Lighting: direction, softness, color temperature, contrast, and shadow behavior.
- Colors and finish: palette, surface qualities, texture, gloss, grain, or haze.
- Effects and additional elements: reflections, mist, typography, props, people, or environmental details.
Use the scaffold as a checklist, not a requirement to fill every slot. A simple icon may need only a subject, style, and background. A package hero image may need every slot because the camera angle, surface, shadow, and label all affect whether the result is usable.
Build a prompt in layers
1. Start with one unambiguous sentence
State the main subject and the desired image in ordinary language. “A blue glass bottle standing upright on a pale stone counter” gives the model a subject, orientation, material, color, and surface. A string such as “blue bottle, premium, clean, realistic, high quality” leaves the relationships unspecified.
Put the most important constraint near the beginning. If the bottle must remain upright and fully visible, say that before optional atmosphere or decorative props. If the image is for a catalog card, name that destination so the composition leaves useful negative space rather than filling the entire frame.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
2. Add visual relationships, not just attributes
Describe where things are and how they interact: “the bottle on the right, a cream headline panel on the left, equal visual weight, ample negative space.” Explain whether one object is in front of, behind, beside, or partially covering another. Spatial language gives the model a scene to render instead of a bag of independent nouns.
3. Specify camera, light, and surface behavior
Camera and lighting instructions often decide whether an otherwise correct image looks like a product photograph, an illustration, or an accidental snapshot. Include a front-facing or three-quarter view, a close-up or full-body crop, and the direction and softness of the key light when those details matter. For products, mention contact shadows and reflections; for faces, mention the side from which the key light arrives.
4. Iterate one element at a time
After the first generation, identify the single largest defect. If the label is wrong, change the lettering instruction while leaving the scene intact. If the crop is too tight, change framing only. If you alter wording, lighting, camera angle, and background simultaneously, you cannot know which change helped. Keep a short record of each revision so a successful instruction can be restored.

How to get readable text inside an image
Text is a visible design element, so write it as one. Put the exact words in quotation marks, then explain what carries them and where they appear. Include the sign, label, poster, screen, or package context; position; relative size; color; case; and broad typography characteristics such as bold, condensed, serif, or sans-serif.
For example:
A clean front-facing product package on a white studio sweep, centered and fully visible, with the exact words "NORTHSTAR COFFEE" printed in large dark-green uppercase letters on the front label; softbox lighting, realistic paper texture, catalog product photography.
Why each text instruction matters
- Quotation marks separate the required lettering from the surrounding description.
- Exact spelling and case tell the model what the viewer should read, rather than merely suggesting a theme.
- Carrier and placement connect the words to a physical sign, label, or panel.
- Size and color make the lettering visually prominent enough to render.
- Typography characteristics describe the intended design without relying on a particular font file.
When lettering is still wrong
Check that the phrase is short enough to fit the described area and that the carrier is clearly visible. Remove competing decorative text from the scene description. Re-run with the same composition and change only the wording instruction, then adjust size, contrast, or placement if necessary. A readable result is not guaranteed by quotation marks; they are a precise instruction, not a promise of perfect typesetting.
For a package, describe the front panel as fully visible and specify that the quoted words are the only prominent label text. For a poster, give the headline location and approximate scale, then describe the surrounding graphic treatment. If the image will carry legally sensitive copy, treat the generated lettering as a draft and verify every character before publication.
How to keep a face consistent across edits
Write a complete portrait caption and separate what must stay from what may change. A useful portrait description covers identity or a broad descriptor, age range when relevant, pose, gaze, lens and framing, light direction, skin and hair details, clothing, and background.
Use a reference image when identity matters. State explicitly which attributes are locked and which are being edited. For example:
Free tools Windows power users keep installed
One-click scans. No signup required.
Head-and-shoulders editorial portrait of the person in reference image 1, facing three-quarters left and looking toward the camera, natural skin texture, short dark hair, charcoal jacket, neutral gray studio background, soft key light from camera left; preserve the person’s facial identity and hairstyle, change only the clothing and background.
Separate identity from editable context
“Preserve the person’s facial identity and hairstyle” defines the continuity target. “Change only the clothing and background” defines the edit scope. Without that distinction, a request to change a jacket can also change hair, age cues, expression, or facial proportions.

Describe the reference as a source for the person, not as a command to copy every pixel. Reference conditioning improves the model’s understanding, but it does not guarantee exact preservation of composition or every detail. The new pose, crop, lighting, or background can still alter the appearance outside the requested change.
Face-prompt components
| Component | What to specify | Typical failure if omitted |
|---|---|---|
| Identity | Reference image number or broad subject description | Facial features drift toward a generic person |
| Pose and gaze | Head angle, body position, and eye direction | Face points in an unintended direction |
| Framing | Head-and-shoulders, waist-up, close portrait, or another crop | Important features are cut off or the composition changes |
| Light | Key-light side, softness, contrast, and background illumination | Skin tone and facial modeling vary between edits |
| Stable details | Hair length, texture, skin texture, and other continuity cues | Small changes accumulate over a series |
| Editable details | Clothing, background, pose, or other elements allowed to change | The model changes more of the person than intended |
How to create consistent product images
Describe the product as an object with measurable visual properties: shape, materials, finish, color, branding, camera angle, surface, background, and shadows. Then state the intended destination, such as a product card or catalog hero image. A clean product reference is useful when the logo placement, silhouette, or finish must remain recognizable.
Use the product reference and the new scene in one complete target caption:
Use the product from reference image 1. Keep its shape, logo placement, color, and surface finish unchanged. Place it upright on a warm limestone pedestal in a bright bathroom, with soft window light and a subtle contact shadow; create a premium e-commerce hero image.
Lock the attributes customers recognize
Name the exact traits that identify the item: silhouette, cap or handle geometry, logo location, color, and surface finish. “Keep the product unchanged” is less useful than listing those traits because it gives the model concrete checks. If a reflection, shadow, or crop may change, say so separately from the product itself.
Describe the new scene as a complete composition
Specify the pedestal, room, surface, light, shadow, and intended framing rather than asking for “the same product in a bathroom.” A full caption helps the model understand which parts belong to the source object and which parts belong to the new setting.
Product-edit checklist
- Is the reference clean enough to show the complete silhouette and branding?
- Are shape, materials, finish, color, and logo placement named explicitly?
- Is the desired camera angle stated?
- Does the surface support the requested contact shadow?
- Is the background and destination format described?
- Are reflections or props clearly separate from the product’s locked attributes?
Inspect edges, logos, cap geometry, and surface texture at the final output size. An attractive scene can still be unusable if a small but distinctive product feature has changed.

Place several objects with layout control
For multi-object scenes, combine natural-language relationships with layout identifiers and bounding boxes. Give each element a stable identifier in the caption, then provide its corresponding box in the interface’s supported layout format. Keep the identifier identical in both places.
A compact caption might read:
Minimal product advertisement with a blue bottle <bottle_1> on the right and a cream headline panel <panel_1> on the left, equal visual weight, ample negative space.
The accompanying layout data should describe bottle_1 and panel_1 with their respective bounding boxes using the syntax required by the tool you are running. Do not invent a new identifier in the box data or rely on coordinates alone. “Bottle on the right, panel on the left” still matters because prose explains occlusion, alignment, and visual priority that a rectangle cannot express.
Describe relationships in words as well as boxes
- Say which element is in front when objects overlap.
- State whether an item is fully visible, cropped, or partly hidden.
- Explain alignment, equal visual weight, and negative space.
- Identify the element that should remain legible or dominant.
Layout limitations to plan for
Bounding boxes provide explicit spatial guidance, not a pixel-perfect contract. NVIDIA’s documentation warns that reference conditioning may not preserve the original composition, edits can affect content outside a requested box, elements may extend beyond their boxes, and small requested elements may be omitted. Leave enough room around important objects, avoid boxes so small that the object cannot be rendered clearly, and inspect the entire image for unintended changes.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Using the prompt upsampler
The reference implementation includes an optional prompt upsampler named flux-3-image-klein-pup. It expands a short request into the detailed caption the image model is designed to use. This can help when you know the subject and intent but have not yet described camera, light, materials, or composition.
When to enable it
- You have a short concept and want a fuller scene description.
- You are exploring styles or environments and do not yet need exact wording.
- You want assistance filling in omitted visual details before the first generation.
When to disable it
Disable the upsampler when the model must receive your wording directly—for example, an exact package name, a tightly controlled edit scope, or a prompt whose spatial identifiers must remain unchanged. Compare the expanded caption with your original request before generating. If the expansion introduces an unwanted prop, changes a color, or weakens an identity constraint, edit the caption or send the original wording without upsampling.

- Define the deliverable. Decide whether the output is a text-bearing graphic, a face edit, a product scene, or a layout-controlled composition. Choose the aspect and framing that the destination needs.
- Gather references. Select clear face or product images when continuity matters. FLUX 3 Image Klein supports up to ten reference images according to NVIDIA’s model card; use only the references that clarify the target and label their roles unambiguously.
- Write the base caption. Start with one sentence for subject and setting, then add style, camera, lighting, colors, effects, and additional elements.
- Mark non-negotiables. Quote exact lettering, name locked product traits, identify the person reference, or assign layout identifiers and boxes.
- Choose upsampling deliberately. Let
flux-3-image-klein-pupexpand exploratory prompts; bypass it when exact wording or tags must pass through unchanged. - Generate and inspect. Check the required text character by character, identity cues, product geometry, object placement, occlusion, and anything outside an edit box.
- Change one variable. Adjust only the failing instruction—such as label size, gaze, camera crop, or box placement—then generate again.
- Record the winning caption. Keep the exact prompt, references, and layout data associated with a usable result so later edits start from a known state.
- Review deployment rights. Before commercial production, verify that the model package and its current Black Forest Labs license permit the intended use.
Choosing a prompting approach
| Approach | Best for | Strength | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|---|
| Short natural-language caption | Early ideation and simple scenes | Fast to write and easy to revise | Leaves camera, lighting, and relationships underspecified |
| Full scene caption | Final illustrations, portraits, and product photography | Defines visual relationships, finish, and destination | Takes longer to author; conflicting details can reduce clarity |
| Reference-conditioned caption | Face or product continuity | Supplies visual evidence for identity and physical details | Does not guarantee exact composition or preservation of every detail |
| Layout-controlled caption | Several objects or designed compositions | Combines prose relationships with explicit spatial regions | Boxes are guidance; elements may extend, shift, or disappear |
| Upsampled caption | Expanding a vague concept | Adds descriptive detail automatically | Must be checked for altered wording, colors, or priorities |
Use the least complex approach that meets the requirement. Add references when identity or product preservation is important, and add layout data when “left,” “right,” or “behind” is not precise enough on its own.

Troubleshooting common failures
The wording is garbled or incomplete
Shorten the phrase, put it in quotation marks, make the carrier fully visible, and specify size, color, and placement. Remove secondary text and decorative details during the diagnostic pass. Verify the rendered lettering manually before using the image.
The face no longer looks like the reference
Reassert the reference image number and list the stable cues—facial identity, hairstyle, skin texture, pose, or gaze. Narrow the edit scope to the clothing or background that should change. Remember that a new composition can still alter details even with a reference.
The product shape or branding changed
Use a cleaner product reference and name the silhouette, logo placement, color, and finish individually. Keep the camera and scene request separate from those locked attributes. Inspect the edges and branding rather than judging only the overall mood.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteObjects ignore their boxes
Use exactly the same identifier in the caption and layout data, enlarge boxes that leave no rendering room, and describe left/right, overlap, and visibility in prose. Check the whole canvas because edits can affect areas outside the requested box.
The image contains too many unwanted details
Remove optional props and adjectives, return to one clear sentence, and add only the details that serve the deliverable. If an upsampler expanded the prompt, review its caption and disable it for the next pass if it introduced distractions.
A small element disappears
Give it more area, stronger contrast, and an explicit role in the composition. The model documentation notes that small requested elements may be omitted, so a tiny badge or distant object should not be treated as guaranteed.
Licensing and deployment decisions
“Open-weight” describes how the model weights are distributed; it does not by itself grant unrestricted commercial rights. NVIDIA distinguishes non-commercial readiness from qualifying commercial production use under the applicable license. The exact permissions depend on the model package, deployment method, and current Black Forest Labs terms.

Also document which reference images you supplied and whether you have permission to use people’s likenesses, trademarks, packaging, or other protected material.
A practical decision rule
Use a full natural-language caption as the foundation. Add quotation-marked text when characters must be visible, references when a face or product must remain recognizable, and identifiers plus bounding boxes when several elements need deliberate placement. Keep the upsampler for exploration, bypass it for exact wording, and iterate by changing one instruction at a time. That combination gives FLUX 3 Image Klein clear content, controlled edits, and a reviewable path from first concept to production image.
