Use the official product page at store.steampowered.com/app/4045720/Squadron_42/. The app ID in that address is 4045720. Checking the title and app ID matters because search results can contain community pages, videos, or similarly named products rather than the store record you need.

- Open the listing in a desktop browser or in the Steam client.
- Confirm that the page title is Squadron 42 and that the address contains app ID 4045720.

The listing currently says the game is not yet available. It displays Q2 2027 as the planned release window. - Locate the product action area near the title and purchase information.
- Select Add to your wishlist.
- Leave the page only after Steam accepts the action. If Steam asks you to authenticate, complete the sign-in and repeat the selection.
Do not treat a wishlist entry as an early-access license, preorder, reservation, or download entitlement. If the wishlist button is missing
- Check that you are on the store page rather than a search-results page, community hub, or external article.

How to compare your PC with the minimum profile
Check the operating system and 64-bit support
The minimum entry requires Windows 11 and a 64-bit processor and operating system. On a Windows PC, open Settings > System > About to view the Windows edition, processor description, installed RAM, and system type. The system-type field should identify a 64-bit operating system. If your computer is running a different Windows release or a 32-bit installation, the listing does not identify it as meeting the minimum.
A 64-bit processor alone is not enough if the installed operating system is 32-bit. Compare both parts of the entry: the processor architecture and the operating-system architecture.

Check the processor
Steam describes the minimum as a quad-core CPU and gives Intel i7 (Sandy Bridge or later) or AMD Bulldozer or later as the model-family guidance. Use the exact processor name shown in Windows rather than relying on a marketing label such as “gaming PC” or “high performance.” In Task Manager, open the Performance tab and choose CPU to see the installed model and logical-processor information.
The wording is a floor, not a complete performance forecast. The listing does not state a recommended CPU, clock speed, cache requirement, or target frame rate. If your processor does not clearly fit the stated quad-core and family guidance, record that as an uncertainty instead of assuming that a similar-sounding model qualifies.
Check system memory
The minimum table specifies 16 GB of RAM. Windows shows installed memory in Settings > System > About and in Task Manager’s Performance > Memory view. Compare installed capacity, not the amount currently free in an application.

Steam does not state a recommended memory capacity. Do not turn the minimum number into a recommended target or claim that additional memory will guarantee smoother play; the page supplies no such test result.
Check the graphics card and VRAM
The graphics entry has two separate parts: the card must be compatible with DirectX 11.1 and must have 8 GB of video memory. Task Manager’s Performance > GPU view normally identifies the installed adapter and its dedicated GPU memory. If your PC has more than one adapter, check which one games are configured to use.
Integrated graphics and shared system memory should not be counted as dedicated VRAM unless the hardware and Windows explicitly report it that way. The listing names no specific graphics-card model to purchase, so a buying decision must begin with your current adapter’s exact model and memory rather than with a generic brand or product recommendation.
DirectX 11.1 compatibility and DirectX 12 are both shown in the minimum section. They describe graphics-API support, not two separate storage or memory allocations. Confirm that the card and its driver support the required APIs; the Steam page does not identify a driver version or a specific GPU family.
Check free storage
The minimum entry calls for 150 GB of available storage. In File Explorer, open This PC and inspect the free-space figure for the drive where you expect to install the game. Compare free space, not the drive’s advertised total capacity.

Leave practical headroom for the operating system, downloads, temporary files, and updates rather than planning to fill a drive to its last gigabyte. The listing does not distinguish between solid-state and hard-disk storage, does not state an installation footprint separate from the required available space, and does not give a recommended storage amount.
Check broadband internet access
Steam lists broadband internet as a minimum requirement. The page does not define a speed, latency, data-cap, or connection-type threshold. Confirm that the PC can maintain a reliable broadband connection at the location where you intend to use it, but do not invent a numerical bandwidth target from this wording.
How to read the incomplete Recommended section
At present, Steam’s Recommended section says only that the game requires a 64-bit processor and operating system. It does not give recommended values for the CPU, RAM, GPU, VRAM, graphics API, internet connection, or storage.
This has an important practical consequence: you can perform a documented minimum check, but you cannot create a complete minimum-versus-recommended hardware comparison from the page. Any article, forum post, or store widget that supplies a recommended graphics card or processor is adding information not present in the current Steam section.
- Use the minimum column to identify explicit shortfalls.
- Mark every recommended field other than 64-bit architecture as not stated.
- Do not label a PC “recommended” merely because it exceeds the minimum figures; Steam has not published the comparison thresholds needed for that conclusion.
- Recheck the live listing before buying hardware or making a final performance judgment, because store requirements can be revised before release.

When a field is unknown, leave it marked “unknown” and verify it before spending money. A missing specification is not the same as a failed requirement.
What to do if your PC falls short
If the operating system or architecture is the problem
First verify the edition and architecture in Windows. The listing explicitly names Windows 11 and 64-bit operation, so an unsupported installation cannot be treated as compliant simply because the processor is powerful. Check Microsoft’s compatibility and upgrade information for your particular hardware before changing the operating system; the Steam page does not provide upgrade instructions.
If memory is below the listed minimum
Confirm the installed amount and whether the computer supports a memory upgrade. The listing gives no motherboard, laptop, or module guidance, so compatibility must be checked against the specific machine. Do not buy memory based solely on a generic capacity label.
If the graphics adapter lacks the listed VRAM or API support
Identify the exact GPU and dedicated-memory figure first. Because Steam names no replacement model, any graphics-card purchase is conditional on your current card failing the stated minimum and on the replacement fitting your case, power supply, motherboard, and budget. The requirements page alone cannot tell you which model will deliver a desired frame rate.
If storage is insufficient
Check every drive for available space and decide where the installation would go. Freeing space or adding a compatible drive may address capacity, but the page does not state whether a particular drive type is required or how much room future updates will use.
Keep the listing as your reference point
The Steam page is a live product record. Before release, revisit the same app-ID URL and read both availability and requirements again. Pay particular attention to any changes in the planned release window, operating-system support, graphics memory, storage, or the currently incomplete Recommended section.
For now, the reliable workflow is straightforward: save the correct product to your wishlist, use the minimum table for a documented hardware check, and treat every unstated recommended specification as unknown. That approach keeps your decision tied to what Steam actually publishes instead of to guesses about performance or future hardware requirements.
